UMEB manufactures special electric motors as explosion proof electric

motors, motors for hoisting units drive, three phase brake motors, DC motors
and others, as well as generating sets. We aim to reach operational
excellence in electric motors manufacturing.

 Production Tools
In order to increase productivity we implemented
lean manufacturing process, KANBAN and we use
a powerful customized ERP Socrate from BIT
Software

Socrate is based on powerful MS SQL database

and contain the next modules:
- Financial
- Production
- Commercial
- POS
- Management

To monitor to orders status for each component

UMEB developed in-house application with real-
time status of each order as part of Lean
Manufacturing program.

 The export represents more than 40% of the yearly
turnover. UMEB S.A. products are suited for local
climatic conditions of every country where they are
exported, including onshore and offshore.
For marine applications UMEB has a partnership with
JOTUN A/S.

 PRODUCTION
The company constantly
strives to increase the
productivity and this aim
could be achieved only by
modernizing the
production processes.

more effective ones and
Kanban system is
integrated.

 The production flow is complex and strictly
observed in every stage.

STAMPING
The electromagnetic cores are made of
laminations, 0.5 mm thickness, stamped on high
productivity presses. For small quantities or
special orders, other technological solutions are
available.
The short-circuit rotors are die-cast in aluminum.
The die-casting machines enable to cast up to 32
kg aluminum in rotor cages having the maximum
diameter of 580 mm and length of 500 mm.

MACHINING
The machining of components: shields, housings,
terminal boxes, shafts is carried out on CNC lathes or
other appropriate machines. They provide remarcable
accuracy and flexibility necessary to a large range of
parts. Most of the housings and shields are made of cast
iron. Motors in 315,355, 400 frame size or special custom
execution can have steel housings. The cast iron parts
are bought from Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, China

WINDING
The winding is the most important production stage, in
direct relation to operating parameters and reliability of
electric machines.
Good quality insulating materials in class F or H
(SYNFLEX Germany, ISOVOLTA Austria, DEATECH
Italy, ERBAISOLANTI Italy, AEV England), high grade
enameled wire (SYNFLEX Germany, ELSAN Turkey,
LWW Poland), on-flow testing and skilled operators
provide good quality and reliability to our motors.

 MOUNTING
The mounting is made on two different lines:
small & medium motors and large motors.
SKF or NSK bearings are used to equip the
motors
After mounting and final testing the motors are
packed in wooden crates or boxes with a view to
dispatching.

 TESTING
All products, both newly assimilated or under
current production are tested in our own testing
facilities equipped with high accuracy
instruments.
Full electric and mechanic tests are carried out
by experienced engineers
