Bolt Length Calculation for Standard FlangeGasket

ThecalculationofboltswillbetriggeredbythepresenceofaconnectiontypestartingwithF(flangeface)orL(lapjoint),
andwillbecompletedbyasecondoccurrenceofsuchaconnectiontype.

Thecalculationstepsare:

1.Atthefirstcomponent,gototheCATREF,andfindtheBTSEnameassignedintheBLRFfortheappropriateppoint
ofthecomponent.Storethisreference(BTSE1).
2.Gotothesecondcomponent.IfitsconnectiontypestartswithG(agasket),getitsP1P2distance,andgotothe
nextcomponent.
3.IfitsconnectiontypestartswithForL,gototheCATREF,andfindtheBTSEnameassignedintheBLRFforthe
appropriateppointofthecomponent.Storethisreference(BTSE2).
4.CheckformatchingmembercountsofBTSE1andBTSE2(excludingjackingbolts,thatiswithBTYPJACK).
Foreachboltintheset:
5.GettheBoltPointswithcorrespondingNUMBer.
6.CheckformatchingBDIAvalues.
7.AddthetwovaluesofBTHK(boltedflangethickness)together.
8.Addthegasketthickness(iffound).
9.SelecttheboltfromtheSpecificationandobtainitsstandard(roundedup)length.

Thefollowingerrorconditionsgenerateanerrormessage,outputamaterialdescriptionofBoltsundefinedforthatjoint
(withzeroitemcode,sizeandquantity),andcontinuedetailing.

NovalidBOLTREFofCATREFforthesecondflange
UnequalnumberofmembersforBTSE1andBTSE2,excludingjackingbolts
MismatchinBDIAattributesbetweenequivalentmembersofBTSE1andBTSE2
