Assists medical staff with doctor and patient communication; answers and handles
phone calls in relation to patient testing or doctors concerns; handles patients
charts and the contents within them; assist in hospital codes relating to patient
safety and life; handles doctors orders in the computer system EPIC; acts as primary
communication point to ensure the medical floor operates efficiently.

Human Resources Intern

Responsibilities Duties include proofreading documents and newsletters, creating
PDF files into webpages, working on pamphlets and fliers for publication, and
contributing towards upcoming employee events.
Accomplishments: The impact of my work at Kent State University's Human
Resources Department was making the university ADA (Adults with Disability Act)
Compliant. The results were directly due to taking important university content and
creating webpages that were accessible to ADA individuals.
Skills Used Use of the software program Drupal, time management, text editing,
proof reading, written and verbal communication, teamwork and collaboration.

Health Unit Coordinator Shared Governance (Jan. 2017 Present)
I was selected by fellow peers to be a part of the HUC shared governance group to
help improve the position and provide continuous improvement hospital-wide. The
group engages directly with staff and leadership to work on projects that will
overall improve the HUCs role and interaction with patients.
Recently created official SOP for unit secretary coverage process for Hillcrest
Hospital. Officially went live Oct. 9th, 2017 along with coverage process forms
approved by Director of Nursing and Continuous Improvement Coordinator.

AWARDS
Nursing Association Assistance
April 2017 The award recognizes those who assist in duties that are directly related
to nurses needs and makes their jobs effective.


Employee of the month
October 2016 Recognized for hard work and being a team player on the surgical
unit. This award is given to one person on the unit each month and includes nurses,
nursing aids, nursing supervisors, service workers and health unit coordinators.

Caregiver Award
May 2017 Awarded to those recognized by the president of Hillcrest hospital and
other administrative personnel for their hard work and effort to continue patient
satisfaction and experience. This award is given to only two individuals hospital-
wide during leadership rounding in which directors meet only three times a year. I
was honored and able to take a photo with my award next to my manager, healing
services director and the new president of Hillcrest hospital.
