Profood International Corporation is the largest based on dried fruit producer and the
standard bearer of world class processed fruit products from the philippine islands.

Certified company and 100% Filipino owned, was conceptualized in 1978. It started by
just producing dehydrated Mangoes. It primarily catered to the local market. The first
export was to Hongkong as it started processing 18 metric tons of Fresh Mangoes into
Dehydrated Mangoes.

Through the next two and a half decades, it grew to process not only Mango but
other fruits like; Pineapple, Guyabano, Passionfruit, Dalandan, Guava, Calamansi,
Papaya, Banana, Jackfruit, Mangosteen and Coconut. It now produces not only
dehydrated fruit products but also fruit purees and juices, fruit jam, jelly and pudding.
With its 3 Aseptic puree plant, 3 ready to drink juice plant both in can and stand up
pouch, jelly and pudding plant, Profood has exported its products to over 31 countries
worldwide.

Profood has established a network of buying stations / suppliers of fresh fruits


throughout the whole Philippine archipelago, from the northern tip of Luzon (northern
region of the Philippines) to the southern tip of Mindanao (southern region of the
Philippines). Through these years, it has been able to introduce advance processing
technologies to produce quality products for the world market

From the small company that once catered only to the local market, Profood International
Corporation has grown to become the leading producer of various dried fruits, fruit
preserves, purees, concentrates and juices. The suppliers of PIC: 40percent Mindanao,
40percent Luzon and 20percent Visayas. Its products are available all over the Philippines
and 80percent exported to many countries in Asia, Europe, Canada and the United States.

As it is situated on the island of Cebu, its central location proves to be an advantage over
other processed-fruit exporters. This gives Profood easy access to a continuous supply of
premium-quality fruits from any part of the Philippines.

The companys main product is Philippine Brand Dried Mangoes. Its main ingredient
is purely carabao mango to assure quality and sweetness coming from various parts of the
Philippines. It benefits the consumers in away that it is nutritious and healthy for
the body. It also benefits the Philippine market because the company needs
raw materials from local suppliers throughout the country. Its main product is simple
and has a shelf life is 2 years.

B.process Strategy:
Profoods process is continuous mass production because a high volume of
highly standardized output is produced hence it lacks variety. Theequipment used in the
production of dried mangoes has low specializationhence resulting to a high demand for
labor and worker skills. This is evidentin the production area where there is a high
demand for labor and skills, andequipment is only used in the packing and checking of
the dried mangoes

With this sophisticated system, fruits are processed efficiently in a highly sanitized
environment. In the aseptic process, the fruit puree is heated to sterilized temperature then
immediately cooled down to room temperature within the system before it goes into
sterile containers. This technique allows retention of the fruit's natural flavor, color and
aroma while prolonging shelf life.

The entire processing, filling and packing lines are fully automated. Despite this, our
production personnel do not rest content. They still keep a close watch at every stage in
the process to guarantee strict compliance to quality standards.

Our aseptic fruit puree processing equipment is provided by the world-known Cherry-
Burrell U.S.A. and the filling equipment is provided by Scholle U.S.A.
