the education of art for our museum visitors. Being the oldest of five
siblings, experience as a nanny and a mother I feel that these
experiences together allow me to learn patience and create creative
ways to attract the attention of young and mature minds alike as well
as educate them on the history of art and the importance of the
preservation of art and antiquities. When in attendance at Patterson
Mill High School I majored in the Fine Arts and have been a part of
several art shows including shows with RAW Artists in March 2016
and P.E.A.C.E of Change in October 2016, both in Baltimore. My
experience as an artist has helped me to understand the artists point
of view which supports my ability to make the Walters Art Museum
a fun and educational experience for individuals of all ages.
Furthermore, my education experience with Arizona State
University in receiving my Bachelors in Art History expands my
knowledge on art history around the world including Egyptian art
and culture, antiquities and Latin art among others.
My experiences with the Fine Arts, art shows and educating
young children for the past decade have molded my interest in the
Education Assistant position at the Walters Art Museum. Baltimore
is my hometown which drives me to make the museum experience a
fun and interactive engagement between the museum and the local
community. I believe that if we educate our children and our
communities in the arts we can open young and mature minds to a
new way of viewing the world around them and make a lasting
positive impact on the community to work together and support our
children in their educational journeys as they grow.
