THEME MANAGEMENT AND CONTINUITY OF LIFE
Learning Area 1. RESPIRATION
Learning 1.1 Analysing the human breathing mechanism.
Objectives
LEARNING A student is able to:
OUTCOMES identify the structure of the human respiratory system,
identify the structure of the lung,
describe the process of inhalation and exhalation,
relate the changes of air pressure in the thoracic cavity to
inhalation and exhalation,
describe the breathing mechanism.
KBAT Questions What is the structure of the human respiratory system?
What is the structure of the lung?
What happens when we inhale and exhale?
How do we breathe?
How do the changes of air pressure in the thoracic cavity relate to
inhalation and exhalation? [KBAT]

Learning Induction: Teacher ask students to

Development @ Close your nose for 1 minutes.
What do you feel after 1 minutes? Why?
Learning Activities Learning process:
Students observe models or computer software to identify the
structure of the human respiratory system which consists of the
nasal cavity, trachea, bronchus, lungs, ribs, diaphragm and the
intercostal muscles.
Teacher discuss their functions one by one.
Students observe a functional model of the human respiratory
system to show the relationship between the air pressure in the
thoracic cavity and the process of inhalation and exhalation.
Teacher discuss the breathing mechanism.

Learning 1.1 Understanding body coordination
Objectives
LEARNING A student is able to:
OUTCOMES describe what body coordination is,
identify the body systems that control and regulate
coordination,
KBAT Questions Why our human body need coordination?
Learning Induction:
Development @ Teacher ask what will happen, if your mind want to walk but
your body not move.
Learning Activities
Learning process:
Students carry out activities to observe and teacher discuss
