Assignment questions

1. Develop a simple linear regression model between Sold Price as dependent variable and
Interiors as the independent variable. Perform all the necessary diagnostics test and infer
the output.
2. Is it possible to infer that for sold price increases by at least 100 USD for every one unit
increase in interior at 5% significance?
3. Develop a multiple linear regression model that can be used to estimate the price of
condominiums like 236 Ellery Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
4. Check whether the regression assumptions are satisfied by the model, if not identify and
use suitable remedies.
5. Address any other issues that should be addressed before the model can be used.
6. Calculate and comment on confidence and prediction intervals for the price of 236 Ellery
Street. What should Affiars opening offer price be?

You are required to work on the case in assigned groups and submit a case report latest by
midnight of Thursday 19th October 2017.
Each student is required to fill and submit the attached Peer Evaluation form to Asfia (B-
Block, first floor).

Guidelines for what should be included in the Case Report:

An executive summary of up to two pages


Your understanding of the problem in brief
Basic models
Analysis of results (Actual Outputs can be in an appendix)
Recommendations
The complete report should be less than 15 pages.
The deadline for submission is midnight of Thursday, 19th October 2017.
A soft copy of the report needs to be uploaded on Moodle under the Case 1 folder. The
filename must include the Section and group number. Be sure of what you want to upload
as only one file per group will be permitted. The work submitted must be your own and I
strongly recommend that you run your report through Turnitin before uploading it. A hard
copy of the case report needs to be submitted to Asfia by 10AM on Friday, 20th October.
