Purpose of Visit: site inspection for a steel stair attached to the main building
Site Location: 6th of October city industrial zone....... Date: 21-March-2017 Time: 12:30 PM
Description:
by inspection of the external steel stair attached to your building we noticed that :
1- the design drawings ( present in inspection time ) show that the stair consists of 5 flights which mismatch the existing
stair that consists of 6 flights
2- no available typical details for the steel steps supporting angles and its welding details ( lengths and sizes )
3- multiple stair steps need to be horizontally re-adjusted ., and about 2 steps need to be relocated to achieve its required
clear going dimension to be used with comfortable way
4- stiffeners required at the connections of columns` end with the upper shed beams ( 2 stiffeners for each connection ) to
avoid head plate local buckling
5- contractor cut the flanges of bracing angles at the locations of its connection with columns for the ease of erection
which we consider to decrease the effective area of angles which resist the tension and compression forces
( need re-check from designer side )
6- contractor have to replace 1 pair of bracing angles in ground floor on (axis 1 ) and 1 pair the mid-way to roof floor
on(axis 1) also, as the angles are short and do not be fixed in right way to the middle plate located in the center of cross
bracing ( fixed by 1 bolt instead of 2 as design )
