EXT. EGYPT - LUXOR - ESTABLISHING SHOT - DAY

The landscape is dotted with statues and caves.

INT. LUXOR - CAVE - DAY

Three Englishmen in exploration clothes stand in a large tomb


and watch the excavation of a stone sarcophagus.

Egyptian Archaeologist ASWANY wipes sweat off his brow with


his forearm as he unearths the sarcophagus.

Several torches on wood poles create uneven light and


shadows.

ASHES fall from the TORCHES and POP and CRACKLE as they hit
the GROUND. There are four Canopic jars nearby. STANLEY
removes a lid from one and puts his hand in it.

STANLEY
Whats in these jars?

ASWANY
(egyptian accent)
Please to leave those jars alone
Effendi. They contain the organs
of the mummy.

Stanley quickly removes his hand and shakes it.

STANLEY
Eeewh!

ASWANY
They put all of the viscera into
the jars except for that of the
heart. A separate jar for each
organ.

Aswany picks up a jar and studies it.

ASWANY (CONTD)
This was for safekeeping the organs
for use in the afterlife.

STANLEY
And why not the heart?

ASWANY
Ah, well, the heart you see is the
seat of the soul, they felt it must
stay with the body. Now, lets see
who we have here.

Aswany puts the jar back. He removes a gold statue of Anubis


off the top of the sarcophagus, sets it on the ground. A
royal cartouche is carved into the stone lid.

Aswany struggles to remove the heavy lid.

ASWANY (CONTD)
Please to help me Effendi.

Stanley helps Aswany remove the lid and lean it against a


wall of the cave. Aswany looks inside the sarcophagus and
sees a painted wooden coffin inside. On top is a seal with
hieroglyphics.

Aswany wipes some dust away and runs his finger along the
seal as he speaks.

ASWANY (CONTD)
(slowly)
Anyone who shall do evil or
wickedness to this tomb shall cast
my fear of myself into them.
Punishment shall be death! Anubis,
God of the dead.

Aswany backs up and stumbles over a rock. Stanley steps


behind him and breaks his fall.

STANLEY
Easy, easy. Go back and open it.

ASWANY
(sweating)
I may not open this coffin. We
need to get out of here. We must
not disturb this tomb any further.

Stanley shoves Aswany out of the way and breaks the seal off
the coffin lid. Aswany grabs Stanley and throws him to the
ground.

ASWANY (CONTD)
No! You must not open this coffin.
The curse will... I beg you.

Stanley gets off the ground and brushes off his pants.

STANLEY
Hold him back!

JULES holds Aswanys right arm, Charles his left. Aswany


struggles but is unable to free himself.

ASWANY
Please, I beg you. You will
unleash the curse of the pharaoh.
I will not participate in this
desecration. You must not force me
to be part of this. Let me go and
I will leave you to your evil.

STANLEY
Evil? Huh! This is eighteen
eighty-eight for Gods sake and
weve left those superstitions
behind us ages ago.

Aswany continues to struggle and tries to free himself.

STANLEY (CONTD)
All right, let him go, hes no help
to us now.

Jules and Charles let Aswany go. He rushes away from the
tomb and swears under his breath.

ASWANY
Superstition you say? Ha, youre
all fools. Fools! And youre all
going to die!

Stanley lifts the lid off of the coffin. There are panels of
images of gods and goddesses that border the inside of the
coffin. Stanley removes an ornate mummy board and exposes
the mummy.

There is an apron with the image of a scarab beetle, wings


outstretched, draped over the mummys chest. The beige cloth
wrapped around the mummy is rotten and tattered. Stanley
looks into the mummys cold sunken eyes.

STANLEY
I wonder who he was?

Stanley notices hieroglyphics along the inside of the coffin.

STANLEY (CONTD)
Jules, youre the expert. Can you
make this out?

Jules approaches the coffin and looks inside.

JULES
It looks like um, Priestess or
maybe Queen. This mummy, its no
he, shes a she.

STANLEY
Thats fine. Im a modern man and
all for equality of the sexes. But
is her name there? Can you make
out any name?

JULES
She was the great royal wife of
Pharaoh...

STANLEY
And her name?

JULES
This could be her name, ah... I
cant quite read it.

Jules removes more dust away with his handkerchief.

JULES (CONTD)
Her name is...

The ground shakes violently and Stanley, Jules and Charles


fall to the ground. Several large ROCKS fall from the roof
of the cave, BAM BAM BOOM! Dust engulfs the tomb.

EXT. LUXOR - EXCAVATION SITE - DAY (DUSK)

Dark clouds roll across the sky and block out the sunlight.
The WIND WHISTLES, WHOOSHES, and HOWLS and creates a
sandstorm. The excavation site disappears in a blur of sand.

INT. AARU (EGYPTIAN HEAVEN) - PALACE - PARLOR - DAY

The palace in Aaru, The Field of Reeds, is predominately


white. Green plants and a huge star emerald provide the only
color.

Pharaoh SEQENENRE TAO and his Queen AHHOTEP talk animatedly


over drinks when Ahhotep suffers a seizure. Tao picks her up
and lies her on a fainting sofa, their slave helps to try
revive Ahhotep.

TAO
Summon Ihmotep here now! Go.
Quickly. And have him bring the
disc.
(MORE)

TAO (CONT'D)
I know exactly whats happened.
The same thing happened to me not
long ago.

The slave rushes out. Tao comforts Ahhotep until IHMOTEP


comes in with the disc. Ihmotep places the disc in a

BLUISH GREEN THREE DIMENSIONAL HOLOGRAM

then turns the machine on.

IHMOTEP
My Pharaoh, I have prayed that this
moment would never come. But now
that it has, we must act quickly.

Tao gazes at the hologram and sees moving images and


hieroglyphics.

TAO
Why did this have to happen now?
These are dangerous times with the
barbarian Hyskos and Hittites
banding together against us.

The slave enters with a large pink feather fan and waves it
over Ahhotep.

TAO (CONTD)
They have some new magic and may
soon penetrate the veils. Aaru has
never faced such danger, why we
were just now discussing tactics,
and in the next moment my warrior
queen lies in a coma.

Ihmotep looks at the hologram.

IHMOTEP
Ah, here, the images are becoming
clear. The desecrators are found
out and the curse is as strong as
the day it was made, it has already
been activated.

TAO
Ihmotep, I dont trust myself at
this moment. Please send a scribe
to Anubis with an urgent message to
find my Queen on earth and guide
her to a new eternal resting place
there. Our very lives here in Aaru
depend upon it.

EXT. SUPERMOON - GREENLAND - NUUK - SERMITSIAQ - NIGHT

SUPER: SUPERMOON JANUARY 4, 1912

An abnormally large orange moon partially hidden behind


Sermitsiaq mountain creates an orangish-reddish glow on the
mountains snow.

EXT. ATLANTIC OCEAN - GREENLAND - AERIAL SHOT - DAY

An extreme spring tide caused by the supermoon dislodges


icebergs from a glacier in Greenland. Hundreds of icebergs
travel south towards the Labrador current.

EXT. IRELAND - BELFAST - RIVER LAGAN - SHIPYARDS - TITANIC -


DAY (NOON)

SUPER: TITANIC LAUNCHED MAY 31, 1912

A red ROCKET is fired to signal the launch of the Titanic,


BOOM! A red bloom falls from the sky. Crowds gather to
watch. Mr. Dobbins, a worker in the yard, KNOCKS out TIMBERS
around the HULL and they SPLASH into the WATER. As the
Titanic slides down the slipway into River Lagan, a timber
falls on top of Dobbins and he dies; no one notices. Someone
points to the fourth funnel of the Titanic, a figure is at
the top climbing into it.

EXT. IRELAND - BELFAST LOUGH - TITANIC - DAY

SUPER: SEA TRIALS APRIL 2, 1912

White Star Line officials, workers, dignitaries, local


citizens wave at the Titanic as shes pulled by a tug down
the river.

IRISH SEA

The Titanic slices through the Irish Sea like a knife through
butter.

INT. TITANIC - ENGINE ROOM - COAL BUNKER SIX - DAY

The mummys ghost walks on a bed of coal and points toward


the coals in forward coal bunker number six. The ghost is
transparent, light green in color and wrapped in raggedy
strips like an ordinary mummy.

A small FLAME BURSTS at the bottom of the bed of coal and a


few coals turn bright orange.

Two coal trimmers, HARRY COE and GEORGE GREEN, work in the
bunker and come across the area.

COE
Whats that smell?

GREEN
Get used to it, and keep shoveling,
it comes with the territory.

INT. ENGLAND - SOUTHAMPTON - WHITE STAR LINE OFFICE - DAY

SUPER: APRIL 6, 1912

Captain EDWARD SMITH is a 40 year seasoned veteran. He has a


white beard and mustache and is overweight. He sits behind a
cluttered desk, engrossed in paperwork. White Star Line is
printed on a window. Second Officer DAVID BLAIR enters,
removes his hat.

BLAIR
You wanted to see me, Captain?

SMITH
Yes, Mr. Blair. Ive had to
reshuffle my crew, and youre being
replaced for this voyage.

Blair drops his hat, picks it up, dusts it off.

SMITH (CONTD)
I know youre disappointed. Youre
a good officer. There will be
other ships. Heres a letter of
recommendation.

Smith scoots letter to edge of desk.

BLAIR
Thank you sir.

Blair takes the letter, never looks at it, folds it and puts
it in his pocket. He stares at Smith who is back at his
paperwork. Blair CLEARS his THROAT, Smith looks up at Blair.

SMITH
That will be all.

BLAIR
Yes sir.

SMITH
Good day.

Blair leaves the office and Chief Officer HENRY WILDE almost
bumps into Blair as Wilde enters the office.

SMITH (CONTD)
Mr. Wilde, I need you to report for
duty at seven-thirty on April
tenth. You will assist Haines and
Lightoller in casting off the
mooring ropes and securing the tug
lines when were ready to depart
Southampton.

WILDE
Yes sir.

INT. TITANIC - BOAT DECK - OFFICERS QUARTERS - DAY

Blair puts his key in his locker and tries to open it but the
door is jammed. He kicks the DOOR, BAM! BAM! Turns the key
back and forth, opens it. He rummages through the locker,
removes a crumpled uniform, stuffs it into his travel bag.

The mummys ghost appears behind Blair, stretches out her


arm, points to the locker. Blair doesnt see her, but reacts
to her presence.

Blair reaches deep into the locker, pulls out a pair of


binoculars, puts them in his bag, ties the bag, closes the
locker DOOR, SLAM! He locks it and puts the key in his
pocket. The mummys ghost disappears.

Second Officer CHARLES LIGHTOLLER comes into the locker room


and puts his arm around Blairs shoulder.

LIGHTOLLER
Im sorry. I know how much this
voyage meant to you.

BLAIR
Forget it!

Blair and Lightoller leave the locker room.

EXT./INT. LONDON - ALLEY - ANTIQUE STORE - NIGHT

RICHARD RICK BAXTER is young, tall and slim. Hes a rakish


hustler from the States. He walks up a back alley, opens a
door, enters a small dark room lit only by an oil lamp.

MORGAN HARRISON, an old wizened, shaggy bearded man with


missing front teeth, sits behind a desk with half of his face
in the shadows.

MORGAN
(stammering)
Yooo-you ar-are Mr. Baxter then?

RICK
(nods slightly)
How much for the mummy?

MORGAN
(nervously, eyes dart
around)
Well now, as I told you on the
telephone machine, one thousand
pounds. This is the most unique
object in me shop, you wont find
another anywhere.

Morgan takes Rick to examine the mummy. Its wrapped in an


army green, moth-eaten blanket. Morgan turns down a corner
of the blanket and exposes the mummys face. Rick looks into
the mummys eyes, they appear to stare back at him.

RICK
Where did you get it?

MORGAN
Years ago, three of my associates
went to Egypt on an excavation.

Morgan shows Rick an old photo which hangs on the wall. In


the photo, the three explorers stand at the Egyptian
excavation site.

FLASHBACK INT./EXT. - LUXOR - CAVE - SITE - DAY

Rescue workers dig through the rubble in the cave. Jules and
Charles are dead, the workers carry a wounded Stanley off on
a stretcher.

END FLASHBACK.

Morgan points to Stanley in the photo.

MORGAN
Stanley sold the mummy board to the
British Museum and then managed to
deliver this mummy to my shop
before... ah, that is, um, managed
to deliver the mummy to me.

FLASHBACK EXT. ENGLAND - LONDON STREET - DAY

Stanley runs across a busy street with several packages that


block his view. Hes hit by a runaway carriage, its wheels
roll over him, and he dies.

END FLASHBACK.

Rick pulls a wad of cash out of his wallet.

RICK
Eight hundred pounds right now.

MORGAN
Well, I dont know... youre
getting a steal at a thousand, so,
maybe I will think about it for
awhile.

Morgan walks away, he throws his hands up in the air, his


eyes still dart around in a furtive manner.

MORGAN (CONTD)
Come back in a few days.

RICK
No, think about it now. I leave
tomorrow on the Titanic.

MORGAN
The Titanic? You cant bring
something like this on the Titanic
without proper...

RICK
I know, its all taken care of.

Rick pats his pocket.

RICK (CONTD)
Cmon, give me your lowest.

Morgan scratches his head.

MORGAN
Nine hundred pounds and shes
yours.

RICK
How about eight fifty?

Rick counts out another 50 and shoves 850 pounds into


Morgans hands.

MORGAN
All right, take it, I need the
space anyway. Its a steal... a
steal! Take her away before I
change my mind, selling it at such
a price, I wouldnt sell it to my
grandmother at such a price... I...

Morgan mumbles about the steal of a price as he pockets the


money. They shake hands. Morgan lifts the blanket back over
the mummys face and motions Rick to take her. Rick picks up
the mummy, places it over his shoulder and leaves the store
out the back.

MORGAN dabs his face with a handkerchief and SIGHS a deep


sigh of relief.

EXT. SOUTHAMPTON - WHITE STAR DOCK - BERTH 44 - TITANIC - DAY

SUPER: SOUTHAMPTON APRIL 10, 1912

Rick drives a horse drawn cart down a cobblestone street near


the boat dock.

MUMMY IN BLANKET

is on the back of the cart.

Rick stops and jumps out. He scopes out the area around the
Titanic.

Two men prepare a

1912 RENAULT COUPE DE VILLE

for shipment. They take a break and walk away.

Rick sneaks over to the automobile and jimmies open the rear
door. He lifts the mummy off the cart and lays it on the
rear seat of the car. He adjusts the blanket and taps the
door shut with his foot.

Rick slinks away, picks up his travel bag off the cart and
skips up the

GANGWAY TO TITANIC

He gives a steward a ticket and boards the Titanic.

EXT. DOCK - TITANIC - BOAT DECK - DAY

Rick saunters over to an outer rail on the boat deck and


leans against it. He lights up a cigar, flicks the match
overboard and watches workers load cargo.

MOVING WITH RENAULT

Four workers lower the car into the forward hold.

The street in front of the dock is jammed with people,


animals, horse drawn carriages and a few automobiles.

BOAT TRAIN

pulls up to the dock.

Rick takes a puff on his cigar and gazes out into the water.

MYSTERIOUS IMAGES

appear in the water. Rick shakes his head and walks on. He
stops a steward and asks directions.

RICK
I heard theres a gymnasium on
board... do you know where...

The steward interrupts Rick and gestures with his hands.

STEWARD
The gymnasium is on this deck on
the starboard side immediately
adjacent to funnel number two.

RICK
Thanks.

Rick walks in the opposite direction.

STEWARD
Hey, youre going the wrong way!

RICK
No, Im not. Drinks first,
lubricate the ole joints.

STEWARD
You seem to know your way to the
lounge all right.

RICK
The nose knows.

Rick follows a group of men to the smoking lounge.

The Titanics STEAM WHISTLES BLOW and steam engulfs the


whistles. Several passengers walk up the gangways. The
WHISTLES BLOW and steam engulfs them.

Sixth Officer JAMES MOODY closes the last gangway. A few


onlookers including Morgan fight to get on. Morgan sticks
his foot in the door to keep it open. Moody opens the door
and shoves Morgan out of the way.

MORGAN
No, please, let me by. I have to
speak to a passenger, I have to...

Moody shoves Morgan out of the door, shuts and locks it. The
STEAM WHISTLES BLOW, steam engulfs them.

MORGAN (CONTD)
(mumbling)
Its the curse, he should know
about the curse...

Morgan watches as the ship casts off.

EXT./INT. OCEAN - DOCK - TITANIC - BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - DAY

SMITH
Cast off!

Boatwains mate, Albert Haines, Wilde and Lightoller remove


the large ropes from the docks bollards.

HUNDREDS OF PASSENGERS

stand along a rail on the boat deck and wave at their loved
ones.

CROWDS OF PEOPLE ON SHORE

wave handkerchiefs at the passengers.

WATER
14.

UNDERWATER SHOT - TITANICS PROPELLERS

They begin to rotate.

RIVER TEST

Six tug boats, three per side, pull the Titanic out of port.

The Titanic creates an undertow in the harbour and the


suction causes the

SS CITY OF NEW YORK

to come loose from its moorings. All six of her MOORING


LINES SNAP. Quartermaster ALFRED OLLIVER mans the helm.

TITANIC BRIDGE

SMITH (CONTD)
Full Astern!

OLLIVER
Aye, aye, Captain. Full astern!

Smith and Lightoller look on and brace themselves for a


collision.

MUMMYS GHOST ON TUG

stands over its pilot. The tug comes between the Titanic and
the City of New York and prevents a collision.

SMITH
That was close!

LIGHTOLLER
Too close. We were lucky.

SMITH
Its a bad omen.

LIGHTOLLER
Or a good one. By an inch.

SMITH
Imagine! Another inch, we would
have ended our voyage before it
began.

DOCK
15.

Morgan raises his hand to his face.

MORGAN
The curse.

Morgan backs away and watches in expectant horror as the


Titanic gains distance. He trips over a small crate, HITS
his HEAD, THUD, on a steel GIRDER and dies.

INT. TITANIC - TANK TOP - ENGINE ROOM - DAY

Coe and Green shovel coal towards the boilers. Coe signals
Green to come over to forward coal bunker number six. Green
throws down his shovel and walks over.

COE
That smell is getting stronger.
You cant tell me thats normal.

GREEN
Ugh, damn, that smell. We must
have a coal fire... nasty things,
they can burn for days. Ill have
Barrett take a look.

Green walks over to a boiler and summons Fireman FREDERICK


BARRETT and Chief Engineering Officer JOHN HESKETH over to
the coal bunker.

GREEN (CONTD)
Think we have a coal fire here.

Barrett walks around the area, smells and pokes around.

BARRETT
Yeah, its a coal fire. We need to
search out and find the source.
Its burning from the bottom up...
dig deep.

HESKETH
All right, get to it. Weve got to
extinguish that fire now... before
it can weaken the bulkhead. Ill
confer with the other engineers and
the captain.

COE
Are we in any danger?

HESKETH
Coal fires are pretty normal, we
just have to find it and put it out
as soon as we can. Keep quiet
about this. We dont want any of
the passengers to panic over a
little coal fire.

INT. A DECK - FIRST CLASS SMOKING ROOM - DAY

Rick, Major ARCHIBALD BUTT, Francis, Michael and WALT sit


around a large table and play poker. Ash trays and half
filled glasses are scattered about the table.

Smoke swirls from Major Butts cigar. He takes a few puffs,


puts it in an ash tray and studies his hand. Walt and the
others wait.

WALT
You know, Major Butts the butt of
all jokes.

Everyone laughs. Major Butt lays his hand face-up on the


table.

BUTT
Full house. Three kings and two
sevens.

Major Butt drags the cash across the table, counts the money.

BUTT (CONTD)
Looks like the jokes on you.

A STEWARD walks near their table. Major Butt raises his


glass and swirls it.

BUTT (CONTD)
Oh, steward, another?

STEWARD
Coming right up.

WALT
Another game gentlemen?

RICK
Hmm, think Im out. Hey, why have
we stopped?

BUTT
Must be in Cherbourg.

RICK
Good time for a stroll. Ill see
if weve picked up anything
interesting.

Rick gets up and leaves the table. ALFRED OMONT approaches


the table.

ALFRED
(french accent)
Room for one more. Alfreds the
name.

BUTT
The more the merrier. Have a seat
Alfred.

Alfred grabs a chair and sits down at the table.

EXT. BOAT DECK - DAY (DUSK)

Rick strolls along the deck and watches passengers embark and
disembark. He stops, leans against a rail and smokes a
cigar.

An AIREDALE TERRIER BARKS as she runs just behind Rick. Rick


throws his cigar over the rail, turns around, squats down and
pets the dog.

RICK
Hi there girl. Thats a good dog.
Did you just arrive? Would you
like a treat?

Rick pulls out beef jerky from his pocket and holds it to the
dogs mouth. She grabs it and chews. Rick kneels down on
the deck and continues to pet her.

RICK (CONTD)
Thats good stuff! Nice dog.

Rick looks into the

AIREDALES EYES

and sees an image of the Titanic sinking. He rubs his eyes


and looks back into the dogs eyes. He sees an image of
Anubis.

The AIREDALE GROWLS at him as he stands up.

PEKINESE DOG

runs down the deck and the Airedale chases after it. The
Airedale returns and Rick backs up and tries to avoid her.
The AIREDALE GROWLS and saliva drips from her tongue.

THREE SHOT - MADELEINE, MOLLY, EMILY

walk quickly towards Rick and the Airedale. Madeleine is a


wealthy socialite who loves intelligent conversation. Molly
is street smart and is nouveau rich. Emily is a spirited,
talkative young woman.

ANUBIS SPIRIT

leaves the Airedales body and disappears.

MADELEINE
There you are. Ive been looking
everywhere for you.

Madeleine attaches a leash to Kittys collar.

RICK
Whats her name?

MADELEINE
Kitty.

RICK
Kittys a beautiful dog. Allow me
to introduce myself. Im Richard
Baxter, Rick to my friends.
Welcome aboard.

MADELEINE
Im Madeleine Astor, this is Molly
Brown and Emily Myers.

MOLLY
Hello.

EMILY
Pleased to meet you.

A strong breeze blows across the deck and the ladies hold
onto their large feathered hats. Kitty pulls on the leash
and Madeleine is jerked in a forward motion.

MADELEINE
Kitty wants to take a walk. Shes
marking her territory. Come on
Kitty, lets go.

Madeleine walks Kitty toward the bow.

RICK
Theres something strange about
that dog.

MOLLY
Strange?

RICK
Yeah. When I looked into Kittys
eyes I saw an image of the Titanic
sinking into the ocean.

MOLLY
The Titanic sinking. Ha! What a
thing to imagine. Everybody knows
that the Titanic is unsinkable.

EMILY
Do you believe in the supernatural?

RICK
Hell no!

MOLLY
Come now, Mr. Baxter. Everyone
encounters the supernatural
sometime in their lives. Thats
why I carry an Egyptian Shabti for
good luck.

RICK
Where the devil did you get a
Shabti?

MOLLY
Emily and I just got back from
Egypt. I have several crates of
Egyptian artifacts on board. Im
donating them to the Denver Museum.

Molly pulls out a nine-inch object, a

BLUE SHABTI

RICK
May I see that?

MOLLY
Hmm, I guess. Just dont rub away
the good luck.

Molly gives Rick the Shabti. He handles the Shabti, examines


it.

RICK
This Shabti is from the eighteenth
dynasty. Id say around fourteen
fifty-eight BC.

Rick hands over the Shabti to Emily.

EMILY
Ah yes, I remember Molly acquiring
this. Actually, it was gifted to
her in appreciation of her largesse
in other matters. What... arent
Shabtis used to fend off spirits?

MOLLY
Shabtis were placed in tombs near
mummies.

RICK
They were to act as substitutes for
the dead if called upon to do
manual labor in the afterlife.

MOLLY
It sounds like you know a little
about mummies.

RICK
I know Egyptians are very
superstitious about removing a
mummy from its tomb. Mummies
coming back to life, its a popular
supernatural belief.

EMILY
Life after death. Its just the
beginning.

RICK
What do you mean?

EMILY
I communicate with the spirits of
the dead. Im a spiritualist.

RICK HARRUMPHS.

Rick ogles Emily and grins.

RICK

EMILY
We meet in the reading room

Madeleine returns with Kitty. Emily hands the Shabti back to


Molly.

MADELEINE
Lets go girls. I missed luncheon
and am starving. Everyone is
raving about the Cafe Parisien.

Madeleine, Molly and Emily leave.

RICK
(tips his hat)
Good day ladies.

Rick watches Emily. Emily looks over her shoulder at him and
smiles.

Rick pulls a cigar out of his pocket, lights it. He shakes


the match, drops it onto the deck, steps on it and grinds it
into the deck.

He takes a few puffs of his cigar and strolls down the boat
deck like he owns the ship.

MARLENE and her six year old daughter, SARAH, walk past.

Beautiful day isnt it?

MARLENE
It sure is. I hope the weather
holds out like this throughout the
voyage.

Marlene and Sarah continue to walk along the rail of the boat
deck.

SARAH
Mommy, may I have a dime?

MARLENE
Now, Sarah, you just received your
allowance yesterday. What in the
world do you need a dime for now?

SARAH
Oh, its not for me. Its for that
poor old man all in rags.

Sarah points at the mummys ghost standing nearby. She can


see the ghost but Marlene cant. Marlene shakes her head and
hustles Sarah along.

BRIDGE

Smith, BRUCE ISMAY and THOMAS ANDREWS step up onto the bridge
and look around the ship. Andrews has rolls of blue prints
in his hands.

SMITH
Shes a beautiful ship!

ANDREWS
The Titanic is as nearly perfect as
human brains can make her.

Andrews unrolls one of his blue prints and gazes at the first
page.

A RIVETER works the keel and sections of the hull. He runs


out of rivets and goes into the office to talk to the
SUPERVISOR.

The mummys ghost appears behind the supervisor and waves her

INT. D DECK - FIRST CLASS DINING SALOON - DAY

Percy William Fletcher stands by the entrance of the dining


saloon and plays The Roast Beef of Old England on his
bugle.

Smith, Ismay, Andrews, Rick, Emily, Molly, and Dr. WILLIAM


OLOUGHLIN sit around a large table and eat lunch.

SMITH
Chairman Ismay, you really have to
be proud of this ship.

ISMAY
Mr. Andrews deserves all the
credit. Hes the man who built
this ship. Im just a bean
counter.

ANDREWS
No, no. This ship was born out of
your imagination.

MOLLY
How did you come up with the name
Titanic?

ISMAY
Titanic means enormous size,
strength and power. And what
better name for the largest movable
object in the world!

OLoughlin lifts his wine glass in the air and proposes a


toast.

Its a floating palace. Lets

Everyone raises his wine glass, except Smith, who raises his
water goblet.

EVERYONE IN UNISON
To the mighty Titanic.

Everyone takes a sip.

ISMAY
Captain, were scheduled to arrive
in New York on Wednesday. Wouldnt
it be great if we arrived on
Tuesday evening? Think of the
headlines. We could certainly use
the publicity.

SMITH
Ill see what we can do.

ISMAY
I should keep my mouth shut. Im
just a passenger on this trip.

Rick lays a

PLAYING CARD ON TOP OF TWO VERTICAL CARDS

RICK
Look how steady this ship is.

EMILY
Thats a neat card trick.

SMITH
Shes steady all right.

The mummys ghost walks up to the table and waves a hand over
the playing cards. They topple.

SMITH (CONTD)
Shes steady but drafty.

EVERYONE LAUGHS and the mummys ghost laughs along with them
silently and sarcastically.

EXT. BOAT DECK - AERIAL SHOT - DAY

The Titanic cruises along the North Atlantic. Seagulls


circle the bow of the ship. A few passengers sit on chairs
scattered about the deck and others walk about.

INT. TANK TOP - BOILER ROOM - DAY

Twelve stokers covered in black coal dust shovel coal into


the furnaces. The piston shafts go faster and faster.
Fireman Barrett watches them.

BARRETT
Faster men. Youre not on a
picnic.

The stokers shovel coal more quickly. Barrett walks up to


the coal trimmers trying to extinguish the coal fire.

BARRETT (CONTD)
Thats got to be the most stubborn
coal fire Ive ever seen. Stay
with it men.

EXT. BOAT DECK - DAY

Andrews and Ismay walk along the starboard lifeboats on the


boat deck. Andrews stops and checks out a lifeboat. He
pulls on one of the ropes.

ANDREWS
I wish we had the forty-six
lifeboats that I requested. I know
this isnt scientific, but this
ships warning me shes gonna die
and take a lot of people with her.

ISMAY
Nonsense. Dont worry, the Titanic
cant sink. The Titanic is a
lifeboat.

Ismay pats on a lifeboat.

ISMAY (CONTD)
Besides, forty-six lifeboats would
clutter up the deck.
(points at the lifeboats)
These are twenty more than well
ever need.

INT. A DECK - READING ROOM - NIGHT

The reading room is blocked off with a rope and sign.

Emily moves the sign a bit so participants can get by. She
places an incense burner with a long chain and three candles
in the center of a round table and lights them.

Rick, Molly, WILLIAM, Madeleine, FRED, BYRON and CATHERINE


arrive for the seance.

EMILY
Please have a seat. Im almost
ready.

The participants sit down at the table. Emily moves the


reserved sign back as Titanics chief baker, CHARLES JOUGHIN,
intoxicated, bumps into her and staggers into the room. He
carries a loaf of bread wrapped in a napkin in a basket.

JOUGHIN
Miss, heres the loaf of bread that
you ordered, I baked it especially
myself.

Joughin gives the bread to Emily. She breaks off several


pieces and places them near the candles.

EMILY
Thank you. Would you like to join
us? Were holding a seance.

JOUGHIN
Oh, Id love to Miss but Im very
busy.

EMILY
Come on! We could use another
person to make our circle stronger.
Besides I like the number nine.

JOUGHIN
Well, okay, why not? A seance does
sound kind of interesting. Never
been to one but the wife...

Joughin pulls up a chair and sits down while the mummys


ghost sits beside Emily.

JOUGHIN (CONTD)
Im Charles.

EMILY
Im Emily, and Im going to lead
the seance.

RICK
Rick. Glad you can join us.

WILLIAM
William. Yes, so glad to have you.

Madeleine. Its a pleasure.

Welcome to the group. Im Katie.

Emily motions for quiet.

EMILY
Everyone move your chairs in a bit.

The participants and mummys ghost move closer to the table.

EMILY (CONTD)
All right, this is old hat to most
of us, but this evening we have
some guests new to the experience.
Theres Charles who was kind enough
to bring our food offering.

RICK COUGHS and covers his mouth. Emily flips her hand
towards Rick.

EMILY (CONTD)
And we have Rick, the skeptic among
us. Everyone sit quietly, close
your eyes, hold hands and create a
circuit while I sweep and cleanse
the room.

Everyone except Emily reaches out and holds hands. Emily


lights the incense. She sweeps the room with the

Smoke billows from the burner as she swings it.

Emily joins the circle, gently breaks into and takes hold of
the hands on each side of her and keeps the circuit intact.

EMILY (CONTD)
Breathe deep, close your eyes and
relax. Im the medium and I will
lead the seance. Lets see whos
out there.

EMILY CHANTS an indistinguishable language in a low tone for


several seconds.

A female passenger tries to enter the reading room, sees the


sign, peeks in, shakes her head and walks away.

EMILY (CONTD)
Spirits of the dead moving amongst
us. Hear us. Be guided by our
energy and visit us this evening.

Everyone sits still, and there is complete silence.

EMILY (CONTD)
Please, all of you chant with me.

Rick doesnt chant, he rolls his eyes at times.

EVERYONE IN UNISON
Spirits of the dead moving amongst
us. Hear us. Be guided by our
energy and visit us this evening.

The chant is repeated several times, each time slower and


lower in tone until the group is at a whisper. Everyone sits
in silence for several seconds.

EMILY
Come to us through me and
communicate with us. We bring a
gift, bread, the symbol of life, as
an offering. We wish to break
bread with you in communion with
your soul.

Everyone continues to wait. The candles flicker.

JENNY CALICO CAT

The Titanic mascot raises her fur, arches her back, extends
her claws and HISSES.

The candles abruptly go out.

Everyones eyes are open except for Emilys. Emily has a


deep voice when the spirit talks through her.

SPIRIT
You have summoned me forth, and I
have obeyed you. I am here and
come with a warning.

Many ATTENDEES GASP.

SPIRIT (CONTD)
Theres a mummy aboard this ship.
You must return her to her tomb.

EMILY
Identify yourself. Who are you?

SPIRIT
I am the lowest of the low. Thats
why you could reach me so easily.
I was an arrogant grave robber. A
desecrater of all thats holy.

EMILY
Whose grave did you rob?

SPIRIT
I removed a Royal Queen from her
tomb where she rested in eternal
peace, in ritual mummification,
undisturbed for centuries.

EMILY
Why do such a thing?

SPIRIT
For science, for money, for fame.
It was I who unleashed her evil
curse.

EMILY
What is her curse?

SPIRIT
If you dont return the mummy to
her tomb, she will sink this ship
and many will die horrible deaths.

The mummys ghost nods in agreement, looks forlorn, and


reaches out as if to touch the summoned spirit.

EMILY
We cant, were in the middle of
the ocean. What can we do to stop
the mummys curse?

SPIRIT
Theres only one way. Say these
words while touching her. Akh-se-
akh resut. Ankh sekhm pecktee.

The mummy's ghost shakes her head and silently gasps.

EMILY
Where can we find the mummy?

SPIRIT
Mr. Baxter knows where to find her.
Stop her or the Titanic will sink.

Everyone breaks hands and the spirit leaves Emily. Emily


drops her head and closes her eyes in exhaustion. Molly
relights the candles and stands by Emily. MOLLY pats and
rubs Emilys hands and WHISPERS to her what the spirit said.

Everyone sits for a bit in silence.

RICK
(sweating)
That was intense.

JOUGHIN
I need a drink!

Joughin abruptly leaves. Madeleine turns to Rick.

MADELEINE
Are you holding out on us Mr.
Baxter?

MOLLY
I think he is. But then, I wonder
if all those artifacts I purchased,
I dont recall a mummy, but...

WILLIAM
The spirit specifically mentioned
Mr. Baxter. Are you keeping
something from us Rick?

RICK
No! Are you kidding? What is
this? I dont know anything about
a mummy.
(MORE)

RICK (CONT'D)
The spirits have the wrong guy. We
should examine Mollys artifacts.

Everyone stands up and leaves the reading room in hushed


conversations, some give Rick the evil eye.

INT. A DECK - FORE GRAND STAIRCASE - NIGHT

The massive wrought iron glass covered dome above the


staircase filters natural light into the area. Emily runs
down Rick as he leaves. Theyre in front of the staircase.

EMILY
That was a very troubled spirit.
Now, where is it?

RICK
Wheres what?

EMILY
The mummy, dummy, the mummy!

RICK
I dont know what youre talking
about.

EMILY
I saw that look on your face when
you heard the word mummy. Now,
where is she?

Rick ignores the question and starts walking down the stairs.
He stops and turns around.

RICK
All right, shes on the back seat
of an automobile in the cargo hold.

EMILY
William Carters vehicle? Are you
crazy? If he finds out... how
could you... why did you smuggle a
mummy on board this ship?

RICK
I hardly had time to get the proper
paperwork. Shit, do you know what
kind of red tape that would
involve? Ive got her sold
already, in the bag...

EMILY
Sold?

RICK
Well, practically. Ringlings
going to want this or my names

EMILY
Now you listen to me, Mr. Richard
Baxter. Youre not going to sell
that mummy. Were going to destroy

RICK

It may be enough to destroy the
spirit of the mummy or stop her
curse... then you can keep the ole
pile of rags to sell to whatever
hawker is stupid enough to buy it.

RICK
All right, you win. Im not going
to have you mad at me over a little
case of hocus pocus mumbo jumbo.
Lets go sing that tune to my
strange cargo.

INT. ORLOP DECK - CARGO HOLD - RENAULT - NIGHT

Rick and Emily go to the cargo hold. Kitty gets loose and
follows them. Rick and Emily are unaware of Kitty. Rick
waves a flashlight in an indiscriminate manner as they search
for the automobile.

The mummys ghost misdirects them several times.

Kitty runs up to Rick and bites at his heels.

RICK
You God damn dog! How the hell did
you get down here?

Rick raises his flashlight over his head.

EMILY
Dont you dare strike that dog.

RICK
Im not going to hurt her. I just
want to scare her off.

EMILY
I wonder whats gotten into her?

Emily approaches Kitty. Kitty looks a bit rabid.

EMILY (CONTD)
Kitty whats wrong with you? Has
the mummys curse gotten to you,
too?

Emily looks into

KITTYS EYES

They reflect images of death and destruction. Theres an


eerie SCREECH from an ANIMAL off screen. Kittys ears perk
up when she hears, and she runs off.

EMILY (CONTD)
What was that?

Rick shrugs.

RICK
Who knows what kind of animals are
down here.

EMILY
I hope Kitty doesnt get in a
fight. You know, youre right,
there is something terribly strange
about her.

Emily hugs Rick hard.

EMILY (CONTD)
Oh, Rick, something awful is going
to happen to this ship, I can feel
it.

RICK
Nothings going to happen to the
Titanic. Now whos being the
nervous sailor? Lets go find the
car and you can do your magic.

Rick and Emily finally spot the

RENAULT

and run up to the rear door. The mummys ghost waves her
hand. Rick is unable to open the door. He pulls hard on the
handle and finally manages to open it.

Emily reaches inside the door and touches the mummy. The
mummy's ghost makes it difficult for Emily to get the words
out. After several attempts shes finally able to speak.

EMILY
(hoarse whisper)
Akh-se-akh resut. Ankh sekhm
pecktee.

They wait a bit, nothing happens. RICK LAUGHS and takes


Emilys hand.

RICK
I dont think she heard you.

EMILY
Theres something caught in my
throat.

RICK
I think its fear. Or awe. Come
on my spiritualist princess. Now
that youve exorcised my mummy, we
can relax over some wine, food and
music.

EMILY
We cant leave that thing on this
ship, and we certainly cant leave
it in Mr. Carters automobile.

RICK
My mummy is not leaving this ship,
but I agree, we need to find
somewhere else to hide her. Lets
deal with it in the morning.

They head towards the upper deck.

REAR WINDOW OF RENAULT

The mummys hand suddenly pops up along the window and wipes
the glass.

INT. AARU - PALACE - BEDROOM - NIGHT

Tao checks up on Ahhotep. AHHOTEP GASPS loudly, then stops


breathing. Tao sends the slave for Ihmotep. Ihmotep runs
into TAOs room and examines Ahhotep.

IHMOTEP
Ahhoteps been in a coma far too
long now. Im afraid my Pharaoh
that Ahhotep is dead to Aaru. We
should bury her with full ritual.

TAO
No! It cant be. Shes not dead,
shell come out of this, I just
know it.

IHMOTEP
Pharaoh, please, you... all right,
its a one in a million chance,
Ive only seen this work once, we
have to work very fast.

Ihmotep leaves and returns with an exotic crystal machine.


He attaches it to Ahhotep.

TAO
She just has to be revived.

IHMOTEP
My pharaoh, if she doesnt come
back to us within the next few
minutes, she is lost.

TAO
A few minutes our time or earths
time?

IHMOTEP
Our time, she has until the new
moon on earth.

TAO

INT. TITANIC - D DECK - FIRST CLASS DINING SALOON - NIGHT

Rick, Emily, Molly, Madeleine, and William sit together at


table and have a discussion over dinner.

MOLLY
Well, Rick whats the story?

Rick winks at Emily.

RICK
Story? Theres no story.

EMILY
Oh, theres a story, all right.
But its not for polite company
over dinner.

WILLIAM
Then are we to believe there really
is a dangerous mummy aboard this
ship?

RICK
How you spiritualists love to
exaggerate. I just brought some
ole rag doll along on this trip as
a gift to my niece.

Emily rolls her eyes.

WILLIAM
So odd, all this talk of mummies.
I just visited the mummy Amen-Ra in
a London museum.

MOLLY
My artifacts, I still wonder if...

Emily shivers and interrupts Molly, then takes her leave.

EMILY
Please excuse me, I just had the
strangest feeling. I...

Rick follows Emily out, grabs her arm and stops her.

RICK
Emily, whats wrong? Where are you
going?

EMILY
Rick, I just wish you... oh, lets
not wait. Lets go back and check
on your mummy now. I have this bad
feeling.

RICK
Not this again. If you werent so
charming...

INT. ORLOP DECK - CARGO HOLD - RENAULT - NIGHT

Rick and Emily approach the automobile. Rick opens the door
and looks around in the back seat but its empty. He
stretches over the front seat and looks around. The front
seat is also empty. He slams the door shut.

RICK
The mummys gone. What did you do
with her?

EMILY
I didnt do anything but speak the
spirit words over her.

Rick gives Emily the evil eye.

EMILY (CONTD)
It must have worked. Shes been
destroyed. Earth to earth. Dust
to dust.

RICK
Thats plain bull! You and your
spiritualist friends stole my mummy
and destroyed her. Did you throw
her overboard?

Emily shakes her head.

RICK (CONTD)
You threw her in a furnace and
burned her up!

Rick storms off and leaves Emily as she stares at the empty
back seat of the automobile.

INT. D DECK - RECEPTION ROOM - NIGHT

Emily in evening clothes slowly walks down the fore grand


staircase into the reception room. The musicians play Johann
Strauss IIs Blue Danube Waltz.

EMILY
(to herself)
Oh, I love this waltz.

Rick in evening clothes comes from nowhere and grabs Emilys


right hand a little roughly, pulls her close to his chest.

RICK
Shall we?

The two dance. Molly and Madeleine watch them from a


distance.

MOLLY
Theyre so graceful. Dont they
make a wonderful couple?

MADELEINE
Rick is so debonair.

Rick and Emily continue to dance. Other female passengers


give indignant looks.

EMILY
I wish youd believe me. I told no
one about your stupid pile of rags.

RICK
Yeah, you put a spell on her and
turned her into dust.

Rick pulls Emily towards him and kisses her hard, then
releases her and stalks off. Emily follows him from a
distance.

INT. TANK TOP - BOILER ROOM - NIGHT

Stoker Scott Taylor shovels coal into a furnace and bumps


into the mummy, now alive. Shes more muscular and her
strips are a dusty gray in color. Shes on a confused
rampage. Scott swings his shovel at her.

The mummy SLAPS the SHOVEL away, it CLATTERS on the ground.


She wraps her arm around Scotts neck, strangles him and
shuffles off.

Rick enters and sees Scott on the floor.

He runs over and checks the body for signs of life. Rick
stands up and wipes coal dust off his pants just as Barrett
and Stoker JOHN BROWN approach.

BARRETT
Who are you?

BROWN
What are you doing down here?

RICK
Im Richard Baxter, a passenger.
Im looking for someone.

BARRETT
Whats wrong with Scott?

RICK
Hes dead.

BROWN
Dead? How?

RICK
I dont know. I found him lying on
the floor.

Brown walks over to Taylors body, bends over and lifts up


his head, then drops it back to the floor.

BROWN
Yeah, and maybe you killed him.
Look at his neck, its broken.

RICK
Why would I kill him?

BARRETT
Come with us. Were taking you to
the captain.

Barrett and Brown edge their way closer to Rick. Brown picks
up a crow bar and waves it at Rick. Emily moves closer,
about to reveal herself.

RICK
You dont understand. Im here to
find something...

BROWN
I thought you said someone. You
heard Barrett. Lets go or Ill
crack your skull open.

RICK
Okay. I want this cleared up as
much as you do.

Barrett and Brown escort Rick up the stairs. The mummy peers
from behind a post. Emily follows the men to the captain.

INT. BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

BARRETT
Captain, we found passenger Rick
Baxter standing over Scott Taylors
dead body. He strangled him.

RICK
I didnt do it! I found him, dead
on the floor.

SMITH
Well, Mr. Baxter, why were you down
in the boiler room? Thats off
limits to passengers.

RICK
I was looking for someone.

SMITH
In the boiler room? And who would
that be?

RICK
I cant tell you right now.

SMITH
Mr. Baxter, I have no choice but to
place you under arrest.

Rick looks around the room.

RICK
Youre making a big mistake.

SMITH
(to barrett and brown)
You two take Rick down below and
lock him in the utility room.
Heres the key, return it to me
before you go back to your
stations.

Smith hands over the key to Barrett.

BARRETT
Yes sir.

SMITH
Have Doctor OLoughlin look over
Scott to determine if hes really
dead and if so, have him officially
determine the cause of death.

The PHONE RINGS. Fleet grabs it.

and cant have my men demoralized

Scott was a trouble maker, getting
drunk and cheating at cards.
Somebody just gave him his just
dues.

Smith hands a key to Emily.

SMITH (CONTD)
Heres the key.
(points to stewards)
Have a steward show you to the
utility room then have him bring
that key right back to me.

EMILY
Thanks Captain.

Emily starts to walk away.

SMITH
You two keep to the passenger decks
on this ship.

Emily finds Steward HENRY ETCHES, and they leave.

INT. ORLOP DECK - UTILITY ROOM - NIGHT

Emily opens the door. Rick has a chain at the ready but
relaxes when he sees Emily. He keeps the chain as he steps
out of the room.

RICK
Well, if it isnt the spiritualist
princess? Did your spirits tell
you I was here and needed rescuing?

EMILY
Oh, you stubborn stupid man.
Listen to me,
(addresses steward)
oh, steward, were finished here.
Please lock up and return the key
to the captain.

ETCHES
Yes mam. Are you sure youre okay
mam?

EMILY
Yes.

Etches locks up and walks away.

EMILY (CONTD)
I followed you, I wanted to talk.
I saw what happened and told the
captain everything.

RICK
Everything? Did you tell him I
smuggled a mummy aboard? Did you
tell him you think its cursed so
you burned my mummy in the furnace?

EMILY
I didnt burn your stupid mummy,
but I sure wish I had.

RICK
All right! The damn mummy must be
cursed if it has me fighting with
you.

Rick places his arm around Emilys shoulder.

RICK (CONTD)
Ill trust you for now, after all
you did rescue me from a closet.
But youre on probation.

(laughs)
For how long?

RICK
For as long as necessary.

Rick kisses Emily.

RICK (CONTD)
So, if you didnt take my mummy,

EMILY
It could have just disintegrated.

Rick looks at Emily skeptically.

Lets go back to the cargo hold and
search for clues.

Rick wraps the chain around his arm and shoulder.

CARGO HOLD

Rick and Emily search the area. Suddenly, the mummy is


standing right beside them. Rick and Emily freeze in shock
and awe. Rick looks at Emily.

RICK
Christ! I thought that mumbo jumbo
of yours was supposed to destroy my
mummy, not bring her to life.

EMILY
I, I...

Rick rushes at the mummy.

RICK
Im going to shove that shit youre
wrapped in down your throat.

Emily runs behind Rick as he swings the CHAIN at the mummy,


it CLINKS. The mummy stops as the chain wraps around her.
She yanks at the chain and pulls Ricks end loose. She
unwraps herself from the chain and throws it away. The CHAIN
CLATTERS when it hits the floor.

The mummy charges Rick, picks him up, and holds him over her
head like a bar bell. Emily runs over to grab the chain and
is ready to tackle the mummy.

The mummy throws RICK across the room and he slams into the
WALL... THUD! Rick falls to the floor. Theres an ANIMAL
SCREECH off screen. The mummy shuffles toward it, Emily and
Rick react to the sound. Emily runs over to Rick.

EMILY
Are you okay?

RICK
Yeah. Damn! We had that mummy
right in our hands.

EMILY
You mean the mummy had you in her
hands.

RICK
How did she come alive?

EMILY
I guess I must have mumboed jumboed
the wrong words.

RICK
God save us from mumbo jumbo.

EMILY
You have to be very careful and
correct when enunciating magic
words, words from the other side.

RICK
Did you hear that screech again?

EMILY
It was horrible. But I think it
saved us.

RICK
Yeah. We have one dangerous mummy
on our hands.

EMILY
Theres only one thing to do. Hold
another seance and get better
instructions.

Rick grabs Emily by the shoulders and looks into her eyes.

RICK
Oh no, no we dont. Look what
happened last time.

Im through messing with the spirit
world and buying mummies and the
whole damned thing. Were taking
this mummy out the old fashioned

Lets try to talk to her. Maybe we
scared her, rushing at her like

such a thing. I thought you wanted
her destroyed.

EMILY
Well, I was frightened. But now I
think we should at least try to
communicate with her.

RICK
I dont speak ancient Egyptian.

EMILY
This mummys been wandering the
spirit planes for thousands of
years. Shell know plenty of
languages, perhaps all of them.

Rick pounds his fist into his hand.

RICK
Im not going to reason with a

whos intent on sinking this ship
for no damn good reason.

EMILY
Im sure she has her reasons, but
with hundreds of innocent lives at
stake, maybe we can change her mind
if we only try.

RICK

then, lets find our friends and
enlist their help. We certainly

Theres an ANIMAL SCREECH off screen.

EXT. OCEAN - TITANIC - BOAT DECK - NIGHT

Rick and Emily walk along the rail on the starboard side of
the ship. Rick carries the chain and Emily carries some rope
she picked up along the way. Other passengers eye them
strangely. Rick nods at some with an excuse.

RICK
Just a game.

Rick pulls Emily aside with urgency.

RICK (CONTD)
Emily, if we get out of this alive
would you marry me?

EMILY
How could you propose to me at a
time like this?

RICK
You didnt answer the question.

EMILY
Ask me again when...

The mummy suddenly looms in front of Rick and Emily.

RICK
Look out!

Rick shoves Emily over to a wall.

RICK (CONTD)
Come on bitch!

Rick charges the mummy and jumps on her. He struggles to


keep her down on the deck with the chain. Emily runs over
and touches the mummys arm.

EMILY
Akh-se-akh resut. Ankh sekhm
pecktee.

RICK
Not this again.

The MUMMY freezes, rolls on the deck and MOANS. Rick picks
up the mummy and throws it overboard. The MUMMY SPLASHES
into the WATER. Rick and Emily watch it slowly sink amidst
the waves and then hug each other.

RICK (CONTD)
We did it!

EMILY
Hallelujah! The mummy will rest at
the bottom of the sea and we can
sleep well tonight. Come on my
brave knight and walk me to my
suite?

RICK
You mean youre not mad at me for
not having a tte--tte with the
mummy?

EMILY
Thats a double negative. And you
know what that means.

Emily smiles, takes Ricks arm and they stroll down the deck.
They dont notice Anubis whos standing behind a lifeboat.

He carries the mummy up the side of the ship to the boat


deck. He lies the mummy down on the deck and looks into her

up and down her body. Their communication is through

The mummy opens her eyes. She rolls back and forth.

MUMMY (V.O.)
It hurts! Im so tired.

Anubis looks about the ship and smiles.

William reads the Titanic newspaper, the Atlantic Daily

Its this marvelous sea air were

RICK
Its a bit more than that.

Rick places his arms around Emily and squeezes her tight.

RICK (CONTD)
Shes got me under her spell.

Rick takes Emilys hand. Molly pats both their hands.

RICK

MOLLY
Im going to see if I cant locate
my boxes in the cargo hold. After
that seance, Im more than a little
spooked. Im wondering if Ive got
something I shouldnt have.

WILLIAM
Ah, let it go. Why be scared of a
mummy? Like anything else, dont
cause it harm, treat it with
respect, and it will do the same
for you.

William takes his cold pipe and taps down the tobacco.

WILLIAM (CONTD)
Why, if a mummy came along right
now, Id invite him to the smoking

RICK
Yeah, forget all that Molly. Weve
been down in that hold, youd be
looking for a needle in a haystack.
I have a better idea. A Turkish
bath is in order.

WILLIAM

about this voyage.

EMILY

prolific, you put the rest of us to

Rick and Emily lock arms and head towards F deck.

EXT. F DECK - DAY

Rick and Emily walk near the Turkish baths and see the mummy
standing over a passenger who is unconscious. The mummy sees
them and shuffles away. Rick and Emily run over to the
passenger.

RICK
Shes hurt, she may be dead.

Rick and Emily watch the mummy shuffle down the deck towards
the stern.

EMILY
The mummy. How can she be back?

RICK
Its damn impossible! Come on.
Lets go after her.

EMILY
And this poor woman?

RICK
All right, lets get her taken care
of, round up our partners and see
what we can do about putting that
mummy back to sleep once and for
all.

Rick lifts the woman.

EMILY
Let me help.

RICK
No, Ill find a steward and get her
to the hospital, you find Doctor
OLoughlin and meet me there.

INT. D DECK - HOSPITAL - DAY

OLoughlin examines the woman.

EMILY
How is she doctor?

OLOUGHLIN
She seems to be in some sort of
shock.

Smith comes into the room.

SMITH
You two again? Wherever theres
trouble, there you are.

RICK
News travels fast on this ship!

SMITH
Youd be well advised to remember
that.

EMILY
Its just a coincidence. Were
lucky we found her. I dont know
what happened, perhaps she fainted
and hit her head.

SMITH
If you two are involved in any more
coincidences, Im locking you both
up for the remainder of the voyage.
Is that clear?

Rick and Emily look at each other.

EMILY
Yes, sir.

RICK
Yes, sir. Just lock us up
together.

Smith gives Rick a stern look.

ahead of us. Lets see what this

The Titanic cruises across the Atlantic towards New York

Two teenage boys slide down the

BANNISTER OF THE FORE GRAND STAIRCASE

Sarah breaks away from Marlene.

SARAH

Sarah starts to slide down the bannister, but goes too fast
and loses her balance. The mummys ghost stands over Etches
near the rail. Etches grabs Sarah and lets her down onto the
steps.

ETCHES
Hey, take it easy there, Speedy.

The girl runs to her shocked mother who hugs her, then gives
her a little swat on the rump.

SARAH
I wasnt scared mom, the old man in
rags helped.

MARLENE
Do I have to watch you every
second? Wait until your father
hears about this. You and your
imagination. Why, you know
perfectly well that was a ships
steward.

INT. A DECK - FIRST CLASS LOUNGE - DAY

Rick, Emily, William, Molly, Madeleine and Fred meet and sit
down at a table.

EMILY
Well, what are you waiting for, go
ahead. Explain away.

RICK
Ah, well, its like this...

Rick starts sweating. He pulls a handkerchief out of his


pocket and dabs his forehead.

RICK (CONTD)
I have a confession to make. I did
smuggle a mummy on board; a dead as
a doornail mummy

Molly, Madeleine and William react to the confession.

RICK (CONTD)
Somehow the mummy awakened and is
now walking among us, shes killed
a crewman and wounded a passenger.

WILLIAM
Why didnt you come clean at the
seance?

I didnt take any of this stuff
seriously. I owe everyone an

WILLIAM
Whats done is done.

RICK
Weve awakened a monster.

WILLIAM

I thought we destroyed her. My

shes back.

O Loughlin holds a bottle of Scotch and two glasses in his


arms. He TAPS on Andrews DOOR with his SHOE.

ANDREWS
Come in.

OLoughlin comes into the room and sets the bottle and
glasses on a dresser. Andrews is in his chair with
blueprints. OLoughlin opens the bottle and fills the
glasses.

OLOUGHLIN
Tom, you have to slow down. Youre
running yourself ragged.

ANDREWS
Is that medical advise? Doc, I
wouldnt know what to do with
myself. I have to keep busy...
besides I have to work out all the
bugs on this ship.

O Loughlin picks up the two glasses and hands one to


Andrews. Each raises his glass.

OLOUGHLIN

ANDREWS
You know, I like building ships but
I dont like sailing on them.

Tom, weve known each other for a

OLOUGHLIN
Ive heard rumors, now these are
just rumors mind you, that theres
a mummy on board this ship, but I

Im serious Tom. You have to admit
that there have been a lot of
strange things going on around

ANDREWS
Youve been talking to those
spiritualists? Ill tell you what

EXT. FORWARD WELL DECK - NIGHT

Rick and Emily arrive at well deck and stop their search to
watch the third class passengers in revelry.

SEAN and four of his Irish buddies drink beer and become
rowdy. Sean notices a beautiful young Irishwoman, MARIE, and
stares at her.

A fiddler plays St. Patricks Day in the Morning. Sean


wanders over to Maries table, approaches her.

SEAN
May I have a dance with the most
beautiful woman aboard this ship?

MARIE
Im not much of a dancer.

SEAN
Youll do all right. Come on.

Sean grabs Maries hand and pulls her over to an open area.
They dance for awhile and then Sean dances solo around the
fiddler. Several third class passengers stop and watch Sean.
Sean stops, passengers applaud.

Rick holds Emily around the waist.

RICK
May I have a dance with the most
beautiful woman aboard this ship?

EMILY
Arent you the smooth one?

Rick holds Emily in his arms and gives her a long passionate
kiss.

EXT. BOAT DECK - LIFEBOATS - FOURTH FUNNEL - NIGHT

Anubis helps the mummy out of the lifeboat and leads her to
the fourth funnel.

ANUBIS (V.O.)
Follow me. Time is growing short.
Theyre devising ways to find you.
One in particular is getting close,
but Im clouding the waves.

Anubis looks around, seeing no one he points his staff at the


fourth funnel.

ANUBIS
Passengers and even some crew
members dont know that the funnel
is for ventilation. There will be
no fumes to disturb you. Youll
feel right at home here.

Anubis and the mummy climb up the funnel. Anubis helps the
mummy in.

ANUBIS (V.O.)
How does it feel?

MUMMY (V.O.)
Like home, just as you predicted.
It looks like someones been here
before me.

ANUBIS (V.O.)
Dont worry, there was a stowaway
here. Smart fellow, followed his
instinct about this ship and got
off in Queenstown.

MUMMY (V.O.)
Anubis, my husband and I will
reward you greatly in Aaru.

ANUBIS (V.O.)
I dont work for reward.
Protecting you is my duty, my
reason for being.

MUMMY (V.O.)
I know my dear Anubis. I just wish
I could help you more.

ANUBIS

Anubis climbs out and joins the mummys ghost and they walk
along the deck.

INT. A DECK - FIRST CLASS LOUNGE - NIGHT

Rick, Emily, Molly, William, Madeleine and Fred meet.

WILLIAM
Ive delved deep and have come up
with some interesting information.
We just missed the mummy. She was
hiding in a lifeboat.

RICK
Where is she hiding now?

William pulls out a notebook, opens it and reads.

WILLIAM
I couldnt come up with an exact
location, its confused and hazy...
a place thats dark and confined.

RICK
That could be anywhere. Maybe the
boiler room or engine room?

WILLIAM
Im sure we can find her. When we
do lets communicate with her,
reason with her.

RICK
Im not interested in reasoning
with her. I just want to find her
and destroy her before she destroys
us.

William puffs on his pipe, smoke billows into the air.

WILLIAM
Oh, shes out for revenge all
right. Cant be helped. But I
doubt she really needs to sink this
whole ship for it. In any case, we
have to try to talk to her before
anything else.

RICK
No we have to find her before
anything else and then destroy her.

WILLIAM
The best scenario is to capture the
mummy alive. Do you know what this
could mean for science? For
knowledge of the afterlife?

FRED
Rick, I think William makes a good
point.

William puffs on his pipe a few times.

Dont forget, if the mummy sinks us

what that mummys planning, but Id
rather stick together in our

reading room with their gems and gold. They find a table far
from other passengers, lay the pieces out on a table.

Smith walks up to the group and sits down at the table.

lifeboats.

INT. BOAT DECK - WIRELESS ROOM - NIGHT

The mummy's ghost walks up to the wireless room door, waves


her hand and arm back and forth, walks down the hall. Senior
Wireless Operator JACK PHILLIPS sits in a chair and gets
ready to send a message. The wireless radio malfunctions.

PHILLIPS
Whats wrong with this damn
wireless?

Phillips takes off his headset and throws it down on the


table. Junior Wireless Operator HAROLD BRIDE checks out the
equipment.

BRIDE
Everything looks in order. It
should send a signal.

Phillips places his headset over his ears. He presses down


on the telegraph key, nothing happens. He removes his
headset and tosses it on the table.

PHILLIPS
Nothing! Shit! This Marconi
equipment is crap.

BRIDE
We have to fix it. Lets get busy.

PHILLIPS
Were going to have to trouble
shoot the whole damn system.

EXT. BOAT DECK - FUNNEL - NIGHT

William strolls along the boat deck, smoking his pipe. He


breathes in the air, looks at the sea and ponders. His gaze
takes in the funnels, and he notices only the first three
spew smoke. He gets an epiphany and rushes off to find
Andrews whos in the lounge bar.

INT. A DECK - LOUNGE BAR - NIGHT

William looks for Andrews and spots him having a drink at the
bar. He approaches Andrews.

WILLIAM
Say, old man, is there something
wrong with the fourth funnel? I
noticed that theres no smoke
coming from it.

ANDREWS
Oh, that funnels for ventilation.

WILLIAM
You dont say! Well, um... thank
you.

William dashes off and Andrews answers the air.

ANDREWS
Youre welcome.

INT. SMOKING LOUNGE - NIGHT

William looks in, spots Rick near a poker table, waves him
down.

WILLIAM
Hey, Rick. I thought Id find you
here.

RICK
Just getting ready to play a couple
of hands.

WILLIAM
I think I know where she is.

William taps his pipe in his hand and waves it wildly as he


speaks. Rick stares at him.

WILLIAM (CONTD)
The fourth funnel is for
ventilation, it doesnt carry any
exhaust.

RICK
Thats got to be it! Lets round
up who we can and meet at the
funnel, say in fifteen?

EXT./INT. BOAT DECK - FOURTH FUNNEL - NIGHT

Anubis sees that the spiritualists are onto the mummys


hiding place. While William and Rick wrangle the others,
Anubis climbs the funnel. At the top, he climbs into it.

INSIDE FUNNEL - MOVING SHOT - ANUBIS AND MUMMY

Anubis uses his staff to light the way, clear obstacles and
serve as a platform and a ride as he brings the mummy through
the funnel and out the other end.

INT. TANK TOP - FOURTH FUNNEL - BOILER ROOM - NIGHT

Anubis helps the mummy climb out of the funnel. He leads her
away. A stoker spots them and doesnt believe his eyes.

He shakes his head, pulls a FLASK from his back pocket and
throws it across the room, it CLINKS and CLANKS as it hits
EQUIPMENT and the FLOOR.

EXT. BOAT DECK - FOURTH FUNNEL - NIGHT

Rick, Emily, William, Molly, Madeleine and Fred approach the


fourth funnel. Rick drops his CHAIN, it CLATTERS on the
deck. He climbs up quickly with rope over one shoulder and
his knife in his mouth. He looks in and sees something. He
takes the knife from his mouth.

RICK
Weve got her!

WILLIAM
Dont harm her!

Rick moves in for a closer look. Suddenly, a

MUMMIFIED CAT

leaps out. The mummy cat has rotting skin hanging from its
bones, huge snaggleteeth and red eyes glowing from sunken
sockets.

The mummy cat bites Rick hard on his neck.

RICK
Ooow... God damn it!

Rick drops the KNIFE and it lands with a THUD on DECK near
Molly. She picks it up. Rick almost falls off the ladder
but hangs on with one hand. The mummy cat runs down the
funnel and lashes out at the spiritualists and causes more
wounds and chaos as some try to defend themselves while
others are frozen in shock.

The MUMMY CAT tears off chaotically, leaps on and off


lifeboats, disappears from sight, belts out otherworldly
SCREECHES. Rick reaches the bottom of the funnel and falls
onto the deck. Emily examines Ricks wound.

EMILY
Your necks bleeding.

Emily rips off a piece of her dress and wipes the blood.
Rick notices blood on Emilys arm.

RICK
Youre hurt, too.

EMILY
Just a couple of scratches.

RICK
What in the hell was that?

WILLIAM
A mummy cat!

FRED
That was one scary cat.

MADELEINE
Ill say! But where did it come
from?

MOLLY
My artifacts? I have a few
Egyptian cats.

Emily examines Ricks wound.

EMILY
Maybe you should see the Doctor.

RICK
Nah, no time. Tomorrow were
hunting two mummies.

Anubis is in the car. He has astronomical charts in front of


him and drafts an astronomical blueprint.

Smith looks at the chains, rope and knife that Rick carries.

gazes out into the ocean. He pulls out a small pad of paper,
writes. He walks over to Lightoller and gives him the note.

are the new headings. We shouldnt
encounter any icebergs this far
south.

LIGHTOLLER
Yes sir.

Smith and Ismay drink coffee.

Barrett and Hesketh check on the coal fire. The bulkhead is


cherry red. Barrett points it out to Hesketh.

Look at that. This is the damndest
fire. Mr. Ismay wont like this
but in New York, were going to
have to call on the fireboats.

The captain wont like it either,

usual. The ice must be coming down
from the Labrador current.

Bride listens to messages on his headset. He turns and


addresses Phillips.

BRIDE
Listen to this, the Californians
saying there are three large bergs
in the area. Im delivering this
to the bridge myself.

Bride runs in.

BRIDE
Another iceberg warning for the
captain.

WILDE
Leave it, hes dining at the Ritz
with the Wideners, Ill see that he
gets it. Hes got a pocketful of
them anyway and hes already
changed course.

Smith eats dinner with the Wideners, Carters and Major Butt.
The steward brings them a tray with desserts.

SMITH
It was delicious.

STEWARD

Lightoller enters and walks up to Moody.

binoculars from Mr. Blairs locker.

I dont have a key to his locker.

LIGHTOLLER
Then bust it open! We need those
binoculars.

MOODY

Moody leaves the bridge as Smith enters it.

SMITH
Mr. Lightoller, anymore ice
reports?

LIGHTOLLER
No sir. But with the berg warnings
shouldnt we slow down?

SMITH
Its a clear night, and were
south. I dont see the need.

OFFICERS QUARTERS - LOCKER ROOM

Moody pries open Blairs locker with a crow bar. The locker
is empty.

MOODY
Shit!

Moody picks up a phone and calls the bridge.

The PHONE RINGS. Lightoller picks up.

MOODY (V.O.)
No luck here. The locker is empty.

LIGHTOLLER

Lightoller makes a call.

The mummys ghost appears behind Lightoller.

Dont worry about the binoculars.
Its cloudless and clear. Rely on

EXT. CROWS NEST - NIGHT

Fleet hangs up the phone.

FLEET
How do they expect us to do our job
without binoculars. Theres no
moon. I cant see shit without
them.

INT. WIRELESS ROOM - NIGHT

Bride sleeps in a bunk in a small room located inside the


wireless room. Phillips receives a message from the steamer
Mesaba. He writes on a message form.

INSERT - MESSAGE

STEAMER MESABA REPORTS MUCH HEAVY PACK ICE AND GREAT NUMBER
OF LARGE ICEBERGS, ALSO FIELD ICE.

The mummys ghost appears and points at the message.

Phillips places the message under a paperweight and sends


personal messages. The mummys ghost disappears.

EXT. OCEAN - TITANIC - BOAT DECK - BOW - NIGHT

The mummy's ghost stands on the bow and looks out into the
ocean. The water is choppy. She waves her arm and the water
becomes calm.

INT. TITANIC - BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

Lightoller is on the bridge and gazes out into the ocean.


Smith walks onto the bridge.

SMITH
Mr. Lightoller, whats the current
temperature?

LIGHTOLLER
Its thirty one degrees and
dropping.

SMITH
Have there been any more ice
reports?

LIGHTOLLER
No sir. We will be in the Labrador
current in an hour.

SMITH
There is not much wind.

LIGHTOLLER
No sir.

SMITH
The water is a flat calm.

LIGHTOLLER
A flat calm. Captain, theres no
moonlight tonight. Icebergs will
be more difficult to see as it is
with no water breaking against
their bases.

But there will be a certain amount
of reflected light from the berg?

LIGHTOLLER
Oh, yes. There will be a certain
amount of reflected light. Its so
clear you can see the stars reflect
off the water.

SMITH
If you are the slightest degree

Smith quietly stares out into the ocean.

SMITH
First, theres the near miss at the
dock in Southampton. Theres a
fire in the coal bunker, the
wireless breaks down, we lose the
lookouts binoculars. We have a
dead crewman and an ill passenger.
Its as if this ship is traveling
under a bad star. Well, good
night.

LIGHTOLLER
(nods and sighs)
Good night Captain.

Hesketh comes onto the Bridge.

HESKETH
Captain, we havent been able to
put out that coal fire. The
bulkhead is cherry red, Im afraid
it might collapse.

SMITH
If we increase our speed we will
burn more coal. Have as many coal
trimmers work out of bunker six as
possible. Also, rub that bulkhead
with some oil.

HESKETH
Yes sir.

SMITH
Take her to twenty-two knots.

Twenty-two knots, sir.

WIRELESS ROOM

Phillips listens to wireless reports from the Californian on


his headset.

PHILLIPS
(talking to himself)
Icebergs and field ice spotted.
From the Californian.

Phillips starts to write down the message, Bride walks in and


interrupts him.

BRIDE
Is there anything I can do to help?

PHILLIPS
Yes, sort through these personal
messages and give me the important
ones.

Bride sits at a desk and sorts through the messages.


Phillips forgets to write down the message from the
Californian.

BRIDGE

First Officer WILLIAM MURDOCH relieves Lightoller.

MURDOCH
Its pretty cold!

LIGHTOLLER
Yes, its freezing. I had the
fresh water supply checked. The
water temperature in the Atlantic
is twenty-eight degrees.

MURDOCH
Ooohh, lets hope no one goes
overboard. Wouldnt last for long
in that water.

LIGHTOLLER
Im freezing just thinking about
it. I told Fleet to keep a sharp
eye out for icebergs and growlers.
Im going to bed. Night.

Lightoller makes his rounds on the boat deck and retires for
the evening.

The Californian enters a large ice field.

LORD
Hard right! Stop engines. Were
going to have to stay here for
tonight. Its too dangerous trying
to navigate through this ice at
night. Are there any ships in the
area?

GROVES
Only the Titanic.

LORD
Have Evans advise them that were
surrounded by ice and have stopped
for tonight.

GROVES
Yes sir.

INT. CALIFORNIAN - WIRELESS ROOM - NIGHT

Evans TAPS out message on the wireless KEYS.

INT. TITANIC - BOAT DECK - WIRELESS ROOM - NIGHT

Phillips TAPS messages on wireless KEYS to Cape Race. He is


interrupted by Evans on the Californian. He waves to Bride
and motions him to come closer.

PHILLIPS
Can you believe this guy?

Phillips speaks aloud his message as he angrily TAPS the


wireless KEY.

PHILLIPS (CONTD)
Shut up! Shut up! I am busy. I

Evans listens to Phillips message on his headset.

EVANS

Evans POUNDS the wireless KEY down hard and holds it for a
few seconds, BUZZZZ!

EVANS (CONTD)
Im going to bed.

Evans gets in bed and turns off the light. The mummys ghost
enters the room and waves her hand. Evans gets out of bed
and turns off the switch to the wireless.

EXT. OCEAN - TITANIC - NIGHT

There is no moon. It is almost pitch black except for light


that shines out into the water from the Titanic. There are
fields of ice with dozens of pyramids of ice.

ANUBIS AT BOW

sprawled like a figurehead.

CROWS NEST

Fleet stares ahead.

FLEETS POV

An iceberg appears out of the haze and is directly in front


of the Titanic.

BACK TO FLEET

He rings a bell three times then picks up the phone and calls
the bridge.

INT. TITANIC - BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

The PHONE RINGS, Moody picks up.

What do you see?

FLEET
Iceberg, right ahead, sir!

MOODY

stares at the iceberg.

Hard a starboard! Full astern!
Close watertight doors!

The iceberg is coming head on towards the bow.

BACK TO MURDOCH

He braces for a collision.

QUARTERMASTER ROBERT HICHENS is at the helm and turns the


wheel as fast as he can.

HICHENS
The helm is hard over sir.

MURDOCH
Hard a port!

EXT. OCEAN - STARBOARD SIDE - NIGHT

The Titanic slowly moves to the left of the iceberg and the
ships starboard side scrapes the side of the iceberg.

UNDERWATER SHOT - RIVETS

pop off along the steel plate seams.

EXT. BOAT DECK - STARBOARD SIDE - LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

Rick, Emily and William are near the lifeboats. They lose
their balance. Madeleine and Fred help steady them. They
watch large chunks of ice fall onto the forward well deck.

WILLIAM
Weve struck an iceberg!

RICK
Wheres Molly?

MADELINE
She went to bed. I hope shes
okay.

EMILY
Shell be fine. She has her
Shabti.

INT. D DECK - DINING SALOON - NIGHT

The waiters in the dining saloon feel a slight jar.

EXT. STARBOARD SIDE - NIGHT

All of the decks on the Titanic shudder. Ice breaks through


a few of the port hole windows into starboard passenger
rooms.

INT. A DECK - FIRST CLASS SMOKING LOUNGE - NIGHT

A few passengers in the smoking lounge see the iceberg


through the port windows.

INT. TANK TOP - BOILER ROOMS - NIGHT

Barrett works with Hesketh in boiler room six. A BOOM of


THUNDER drowns out their voices as the ICEBERG tears a gash
into the side of the SHIP. WATER GUSHES in.

CLOCK FACE IN STOKEHOLE

flashes a red light to signal stop.

BARRETT
Shut all the dampers!

A RUSH of WATER floods the stokehole. Barrett and Hesketh


jump through a watertight door into boiler room number five.
Heskeths right foot just clears the door as the door closes
shut.

CHERRY RED BULKHEAD

weakened by the fire collapses and the room floods with


ROLLING WATER.

BARRETT (CONTD)
Hey, look out! The bulkhead...

The BULKHEAD CRASHES to the floor and there is a THUNDEROUS


BOOM.

BARRETT (CONTD)
Send all the stokers up!

Barrett and Hesketh remove a manhole plate, water drains.


Engineer JONATHAN SHEPHERD runs across the manhole, trips,
falls down and breaks his leg. Water flows over Shepherd.

SHEPHERD
Get up the ladder, now!

Barrett and Hesketh climb up the ladder and engineer Herbert


Harvey assists Shepherd. Barrett looks down and watches a
torrent of water carry Harvey and Shepherd away.

EXT. STARS - TITANIC - MAST HEAD - NIGHT

Anubis climbs up the masthead pole on the Titanic, passes


behind the crows nest and climbs to the mast head light. He
holds the

ANKH OF STAFF IN FRONT OF MASTHEAD LIGHT

and supercharges the crystal with a button on the ankh.

LASER BEAM FROM CRYSTAL

BURSTS forth, PEW! PEW!

Anubis triangulates the beam from the crystal to a bright


star in Draco to a star in the Orion belt.

Smith runs to the starboard side of the ship and looks down
and examines the bow for noticeable damage.

SMITH
Stop engines!

HICHENS
Stop engines sir!

Hichens stops the engines.

SMITH
Moody, go down and find the
carpenter and tell him to sound the
ship. Send for Andrews. Have Mr.
Boxhall check the hull down below.

JOHN ASTOR walks into the smoking lounge holding a large


chunk of ice.

John flips the ribbon of a souvenir on a passenger that reads


Titanic.

INT. B DECK - ANDREWS SUITE - NIGHT

Andrews sits in a chair with his blueprints and irons out


some minor problems with the Titanic. Moody knocks on
Andrews door.

ANDREWS
Come in. What is it?

MOODY
The captain wants to see you.

ANDREWS
Now?

MOODY
Yes. Theres some kind of problem
with the ship.

Andrews puts the blueprints down on his desk and leaves the
room.

INT. BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

Ismay walks onto the bridge.

ISMAY
Why the hell have we stopped?

SMITH
Weve struck an iceberg.

ISMAY
When are we going to get underway?

SMITH
I dont know yet.

Andrews comes onto the bridge.

ANDREWS
You wanted to see me Captain?

SMITH
Yes. Mr. Andrews, weve struck a
berg. I think this ship might be
badly damaged. I need you to go
down below and check things out.
Report your findings to me as soon
as possible.

ANDREWS

There is a loud HISS from the BOILERS venting off STEAM.

Phillips and Bride are sending personal messages. Smith


opens the door and pops his head in the doorway.

Weve struck an iceberg and Im

The CARPENTER approaches Smith.

The forward hull is flooding,

Andrews looks around the boiler rooms and wades through


water. He looks very disturbed and climbs up a ladder.

INT. BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

Andrews runs onto the bridge.

SMITH
How do things look below?

ANDREWS
Water is flooding into five
compartments. The forepeak, number
one, two and three hold, and boiler
room six. Theres a gash
approximately two hundred and fifty
to three hundred feet long.

SMITH
How long will it take to repair the
damage?

ANDREWS
Captain, shes going to sink.

SMITH
Sink? The Titanic cant sink!

ANDREWS
This ship is made of steel and
rivets sir, it will sink, its
inevitable. Look, she can stay
afloat with four compartments
flooded but not five.

SMITH
What about the watertight doors?

ANDREWS
The bulkheads stop at E deck,
right? So, as the head sinks into
the water youre going to get the
fifth watertight compartment
overflowing into the sixth
compartment, the sixth compartment
overflowing into the seventh
compartment and so forth and so on.

SMITH
What about the pumps?

ANDREWS
They wont be able to keep up.
Shes going down. Its a
mathematical certainty.

water in the first ten minutes.
Id say we have oh, ninety minutes,

All of the officers stand on the bridge and wait for the
Captain. Smith walks up to the men. He looks around and
notices that Fourth Officer JOSEPH BOXHALL is not present.

SMITH
Wheres Mr. Boxhall?

Boxhall runs onto the bridge.

BOXHALL
Sorry sir, I was down below helping
Mr. Barrett.

SMITH
Gentlemen, I selected you as my
officers because I thought you were
the best men for the job. Youll
all be tested tonight. Above all
be British men...

The stokers vent off STEAM from the boilers and a LOUD HISS
drowns out the captain. Smith waits for the noise to
subside.

SMITH (CONTD)
The iceberg has caused catastrophic
damage to this ship. The bilge
pumps will not be able to keep up
with the flooding water. We must
prepare to abandon ship.

Ismay steps onto the bridge.

ISMAY
Captain...

SMITH
Mr. Ismay please leave the bridge.
Im busy!

Ismay shakes his head and leaves the bridge.

SMITH (CONTD)
Mr. Murdoch, you prepare the
lifeboats on the starboard side,
Mr. Lightoller, you prepare the
lifeboats on the port side. Mr.

everyone into life preservers. Get
the women and children prepared for

need you to figure out our exact

firearms?

SMITH
Yes. Take the officers to the safe
and give each man a revolver.

WILDE

Try to keep everyone calm. We must
prevent panic at all costs. I will
let you know when the lifeboats are

Ismay breaks from the passenger and approaches Smith.

This delay is going to put us

Stewards knock on the first class passengers doors and tell


them to put on their life jackets.

Etches knocks on stateroom B82. Mr. BENJAMIN GUGGENHEIM


answers the door.

ETCHES
Sir, we have to prepare to abandon
ship. Please let me help you with
your life jacket.

Etches puts a heavy sweater on Benjamin and then straps on a


life jacket over his sweater.

BENJAMIN
This is very uncomfortable.

EXT. BOAT DECK - STARBOARD SIDE - NIGHT

The deck is a flurry with activity as the officers prepare


the lifeboats and the passengers begin to appear. Joughin
brings food, water and supplies.

A few passengers begin to panic and rush the boats. Many


resist. Sir COSMO DUFF GORDAN, his wife LUCY DUFF GORDAN,
and their secretary Laura Mabel Franks Francatelli are
directed to a boat.

COSMO
We wont get in that thing! Help
will arrive before this ship sinks.

LUCY
Youre right dear. Ill never step
foot in such a thing. Quick, lets
get to the pursers office.

Other passengers spread resistance.

ALL CLASSES OF PASSENGERS

intermingle while a predominance of first class passengers


are at the boats and get best access. Madeleine is next to
third class passenger Leah Aks and her infant son Frank
Filly Philip, both shivering. Madeleine gives them her
shawl. Madeleine and John walk away through the crowd.

INT. E DECK - PURSERS OFFICE - NIGHT

Dozens of passengers crowd the pursers office to collect


their jewelry and money. Cosmo pushes ahead, takes his
receipt from his pocket and hands it to Purser HUGH McELROY.

COSMO
I need my money and jewels, now!

MCELROY
Forget all that, get up to the boat
deck and board a lifeboat.

COSMO
Not without my possessions, get
them for me now.

McElroy gets Cosmo his possessions. Others press McElroy for


their objects. McElroy services a few, then puts his arms
up.

MCELROY
Forget your things! Fasten your
life belts, get to the lifeboats
now. This office is closed.

McElroy closes the office and makes his way through the
crowding passengers.

EXT. BOAT DECK - PORT LIFEBOATS

Rick, Emily, Molly and William are amidst the flurry when
Emily spots the mummy wrapped in modern clothes, wearing a
large hat with a net veil and sporting eyeglasses. The
mummys near a collapsible lifeboat. Emily chases after the
mummy and touches the mummys arm.

EMILY
Akh-se-akh resut. Ankh sekhm

The mummy stares at her and then speaks telepathically, only


Emily can hear. William understands whats happening and
holds Rick and Molly at bay.

MUMMY (V.O.)

EMILY

disturb you. Or harm you, we
wanted to help you.

MUMMY (V.O.)
My tomb was desecrated. Youve

The Titanic became involved. A

Emily looks around at the crowd of passengers on the boat


deck.

The mummy speaks out loud. Her voice is beautiful and

Ahhotep breaks away from the spiritualists and shuffles away


into the flurry of passengers. The spiritualists look at
each other in silence for several moments. Rick starts to go
after Ahhotep. William stops him, then grabs Emilys arm,
his notebook and pencil in hand.

WILLIAM
Emily, you must tell me every word
the mummy said.

Rick handles his rope.

RICK
We should have captured her while
we had the chance.

WILLIAM
Its useless now. What a waste!

INT. WIRELESS ROOM - NIGHT

Smith enters abruptly.

SMITH
Send a call for assistance. When
you reach a nearby steamer, tell
them to get here as fast as
possible.

PHILLIPS
What shall I send sir?

SMITH
The regulation international call
for help.

Smith writes down the Titanics coordinates on a piece of


paper and hands it to Phillips.

SMITH
Heres our position.

Smith leaves the wireless room. Phillips sits down and


starts to send distress messages. Bride sits down next to
Phillips and observes.

BRIDE
What are you sending?

PHILLIPS
CQD.

BRIDE
Send SOS, its the new call. It
may be your last chance to send it.

PHILLIPS
Ill give it a try.

Phillips sends an SOS Message. He TAPS the wireless KEYS.

Bandmaster WALLACE HARTLEY and the musicians set up their


instruments.

Radio Operator HAROLD COTTAM stands near the rail on the bow
of the ship, gazes into the ocean and smokes a cigarette. He
talks to a mate.

COTTAM
Well, its getting late. Im going
to check the wireless and then turn
in for the evening.

INT. RMS CARPATHIA - WIRELESS ROOM - NIGHT

Cottam walks into the wireless room, puts on the headset.

Cottam listens to MUFFLED SIGNALS as he receives a message.


He TAPS on a KEY. He listens to more MUFFLED SIGNALS as he
receives another message. Cottam looks shocked and runs out.

CAPTAINS QUARTERS

Cottam bursts the door open.

COTTAM
Captain! Captain! Wake up!

Captain ARTHUR ROSTRON wakes up and is angry.

ROSTRON
Damn! What the hell is it? It
better be important. What do you
want?

COTTAM
Sir, the Titanic is sinking! I
received her distress call a few
moments ago.

Rostron jumps out of bed and starts getting dressed.

ROSTRON
Are you positive that its the
Titanic?

COTTAM
Yes sir!

ROSTRON
No mistake?

COTTAM
No mistake sir.

ROSTRON
Go back and tell them that well be
there as soon as possible.

COTTAM
Yes sir.

INT. TITANIC - BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

Bride runs onto the bridge and approaches Smith.

BRIDE
Captain, weve contacted the
Carpathia. Shes on her way.

SMITH
How far away is she?

BRIDE
Fifty-eight miles, sir. Shes
coming full speed ahead. She
should be here in about four hours.

SMITH
Four hours? We cant last four
hours. Damn it to hell! Thanks
Sparks. That will be all. Wait,
tell Mr. Phillips to keep sending
distress signals. Maybe well find
a ship thats close by.

EXT. BOAT DECK - PORT SIDE - NIGHT

Smith and Boxhall stand on the port side of the ship, Boxhall
sees a light in the distance. He points.

BOXHALL
Look, I see a ship. She looks
about fifteen miles out. See the
masthead light?

SMITH
Yes, I see it. Mr. Boxhall see if
Mr. Phillips can contact her on the
wireless. Then I want you to fire
distress rockets, one every five
minutes from the port side. Have
Quartermaster Rowe help you out
with the rockets.

BOXHALL
Yes sir.

Lightoller approaches them. Smith is in a mental fog.

LIGHTOLLER
The lifeboats are ready to lower
sir. Do you want to start loading
the women and children?

HARTLEY AND ORCHESTRA

move out onto the boat deck near the gymnasium. They set up
their instruments and play ragtime music.

Many passengers are still reluctant to get into the


lifeboats.

Boxhall and George Rowe fire off the first distress ROCKET,
BOOM! A white bloom appears in the sky.

Murdoch and Moody load and lower lifeboat seven.

As the boat settles WATER GUSHES inside the boat. Passenger


DOROTHY GIBSON sees it.

DOROTHY
Help! Water is gushing into the
boat. Were sinking.

A male passenger looks around and notices the plug is gone.


An older female passenger removes her lingerie and plugs the
hole. Water no longer enters.

Fifth Officer HAROLD LOWE and Ismay lower lifeboat five.


Ismay interferes with Lowes directions.

ISMAY
Lower away!

LOWE
Im not ready yet. If you dont
get the hell out of the way I swear
Ill throw you overboard.

Ismay leaves. Henry Frauenthal jumps into the boat as its


being lowered and lands on top of Annie Stengel. STENGEL
SCREAMS in pain. RUTH DODGE rushes to her side and examines
her.

DODGE
You knocked her unconscious.

Dodge makes Stengel comfortable.

EXT. PORT LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

Lightoller loads lifeboat six. William, Fred and Joughin


help women board. Rick, Emily and Molly watch. Molly
carries her Shabti.

RICK
Get in the boat Emily.

EMILY
I cant, I dont want to leave you.

RICK
Well meet up later. Please Emily,
this is no time to argue.

Rick looks at the devastation around them.

RICK (CONTD)
I need to help as many people as I
can.

EMILY
I understand that Rick. You didnt
know... youre not responsible.

RICK
That may be true Emily, but I still
have to live with this.

Rick looks at the devastation again.

Rick and Emily kiss. Lightoller breaks them up, grabs Emily
and leads her into the boat.

Rick looks at her sadly and nods his head. Lightoller is

Rick and Molly look at Emily in surprise. Molly still


resists. A crew member picks Molly up and throws her into
the boat. Lightoller lowers the lifeboat, it settles in the
water. Molly looks around and notices there are few rowers.
Major ARTHUR GODFREY PEUCHEN stands near.

MOLLY
We need more rowers!

LIGHTOLLER
Is there any man here that has
boating experience?

PEUCHEN
I have some sir. Im a member of
the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.

LIGHTOLLER
This boat needs a rower. If you
can shimmy down that rope, shes
all yours.

PEUCHEN spits on his hands and rubs them together. He grabs


the rope, takes a DEEP BREATH and shimmies down the rope. He
climbs into the boat and grabs an oar.

INT. A DECK - SMOKING LOUNGE - NIGHT

Walt, Alfred and others continue to play cards. Walts glass


is on an angle.

EXT. STARBOARD LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

Murdoch loads lifeboat three. Mr. And Mrs. Henry Harper


board. Mrs. Harper hides her Pekinese dog in her coat.

INT. TANK TOP - ENGINE ROOM - NIGHT

Crew members in the engine room couple hoses together and


start the BILGE PUMP, CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! GURGLING WATER
floods in over the workers, and they do their best to keep
the machinery going.

EXT. BOAT DECK - NIGHT

Rowe fires another ROCKET, BOOM! A white bloom appears in


the sky. Children point and smile as they watch the
fireworks of the distress rockets.

INT. CALIFORNIAN - BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

Second Officer HERBERT STONE and Apprentice Officer JAMES


GIBSON are looking at the Titanic through binoculars.

BINOCULAR POV

Rockets exploding over Titanic.

BACK TO SCENE

STONE
Thats the fifth rocket shes
fired.

GIBSON
Youd better wake up the captain
and tell him.

Stone picks up a speaking tube and wakes up Lord.

STONE
Captain, that ship thats about
fifteen to twenty miles out, shes
firing rockets.

Third class passengers panic. They try to climb up but are


closed in by a metal gate. Stewards rebuff them.

Carpathia steams toward the Titanic.

EXT. TITANIC - BOAT DECK - PORT LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

ISADOR STRAUSS and his wife IDA STRAUSS get ready to board
lifeboat eight. Mr. Strauss notices that there are still
women and children on board Titanic. He refuses to board.

ISADOR
I will not get into a lifeboat
while there are still women and
children on board!

Lightoller grabs Idas arm and leads her into the boat. Ida
breaks away.

IDA
I will not be separated from my
husband!

Ida joins Isador and they hug each other.

IDA (CONTD)
As we have lived, so we will die
together.

Ida takes off her fur coat and gives it to her maid ELLEN
BIRD. Ellen climbs into the lifeboat.

Marlene fights her way onto the boat. Sarah breaks away from
her to get her dolly and in the commotion, Marlene doesnt
notice Sarahs missing until Marlene herself is on board.

MARLENE
Sarah!

Marlene tries to leave the lifeboat but other passengers hold


her down.

MARLENE (CONTD)
Get her in the boat! Get her in
the boat!

Lifeboat eight is launched without Sarah. Ellen tries to


comfort Marlene. The mummys ghost stands near Sarah.

ELLEN
Shell make it to another boat,
dont worry. Shes a child,
theyll take care of her.

One woman is in a state of hysteria. Several men are


permitted into this boat. Benjamin, his mistress Leontine
Aubart, her maid Emma Sagesser and his valet Victor Giglio
start to board.

BENJAMIN
No woman shall be left aboard this
ship because Ben Guggenheim was a
coward.

Benjamin gives Leontine a hug. He and Victor leave the boat


deck and return to Benjamins suite.

PORT LIFEBOATS

Lightoller loads lifeboat ten. ELIN MATILDA HAKKARAINEN


jumps into the boat and falls short. She drops into the gap
between the ship and the lifeboat.

ELIN
Help! Someone please help me!

Passengers grab onto her and pull her onto the lifeboat.

STARBOARD LIFEBOATS

Murdoch loads lifeboat eleven. Edith Rosenbaum has her lucky


toy pig wrapped in a blanket like a baby.

She amuses the children with it. Twelve year old Ruth Becker
goes for blankets. NELLIE BECKER gets pushed face forward
into the boat by a steward along with two of her nearby
children.

NELLIE
Ruth! Get into another boat!

Officers yank infant Frank Philip Ak from his mothers arms


and throw him into the boat. The mother reaches for her baby
but trips. The lifeboat lowers without her. The boat is
partially swamped with water from the Titanics pumps.

PORT LIFEBOATS

Lightoller and Lowe load lifeboat fourteen. The passengers


start to panic and rush the boat. Lowe pulls his REVOLVER
out of his pocket and pulls the trigger three times... BAM!
BAM! BAM! The passengers back off.

LOWE
Stay back! Ill shoot you if I
have to.

A male passenger jumps into the boat.

LOWE (CONTD)
Get out of the boat, or Ill throw
you overboard.

The male passenger gets out of the boat and Lowe shoves him
down onto the deck. Daniel Buckley gets into the lifeboat
and a female passenger gives him a shawl. He wraps the shawl
around his head and passes himself off as a female passenger.

EXT. OCEAN - TITANIC - STARBOARD LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

Lifeboat thirteen fills up. Leah Aks gets in and looks at


the other boats to spot her son. Ruth Becker is tossed onto
the boat by a steward.

Murdoch lowers lifeboats thirteen and fifteen simultaneously.

TRACKING LIFEBOATS

Boat thirteen drifts under fifteen and thirteen is inches


away from getting crushed.

The mummys ghost stands near Murdoch. Murdoch cuts thirteen


away from the ship and it drifts away just as fifteen is
lowered.

PORT LIFEBOATS

Lightoller lowers boat sixteen. Major Butt helps load women.


Three men jump into the lifeboat.

LIGHTOLLER
Major, I need your help!

Major Butt grabs one of them.

BUTT
Women will be attended to first or
Ill break every fucking bone in
your body. Now get out of this
boat.

The three men climb out of the lifeboat.

INT. BOAT DECK - GYMNASIUM - NIGHT

Madeleine and John Astor are in the gym. They sit on a


mechanical camel, wearing their life jackets.

JOHN
I asked for ice, but this is
ridiculous.

MADELEINE
Huh! Its quiet in here for once.
Oh, John, I cant get on that boat
without you.

JOHN
I asked to escort you considering
your delicate condition, they wont
allow it. You have to go
Madeleine, for our baby. You know
that.

John rubs Madeleines stomach, then lays his head on her lap.

MADELEINE SIGHS and nods in assent, she is in tears. John is


dangling an extra life jacket in his hands. He pulls out his
pen knife and cuts into it.

JOHN (CONTD)
Look, see how its made? It really
works, it will be enough, God
willing. I just have to stay
afloat until were rescued.

EXT. STARBOARD LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

Murdoch and Ismay load lifeboat collapsible C. Ismay looks


around and then quickly gets into the boat. Murdoch looks at
him with disgust. Sean and Marie board, then Fred and Rick.

RICK looks around, he holds his hands to his head and


releases a long primal SCREAM, then hangs his head.

RICK
I cant. I cant. Emily, Im
sorry.

Rick climbs out of the boat. Fred follows him. Both help
others in until the boat is filled and launched.

RICK (CONTD)
Emily, I did keep my promise. I
got on a boat.

Rick spots the mummy towering over some others. He starts


after her as he checks the weapons he still carries. Fred
follows him.

INT. A DECK - FIRST CLASS SMOKING ROOM - NIGHT

Resigned, Francis, Alfred and a few other card players ignore


the other passengers.

FRANCIS
I bet we sink in five minutes.

ALFRED
No, we have another fifteen
minutes.

EXT. OCEAN - TITANIC - PORT LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

Lightoller lowers lifeboat two. Several men climb into the


boat. Lightoller jumps in and points his gun at them. He
chases them out.

LIGHTOLLER
Get out of here you damned cowards!

The men clamber out.

John and Madeleine Astor are waiting for Madeleines turn to


enter lifeboat four. A female passenger gets on. Her
younger son gets on, but the older son is not allowed.

Madeleine gives the older son her hat and the son gets on as
a female. Madeleine climbs aboard and waves sadly at her
husband.

The mummy starts to board the boat as Rick and Fred close in
on her.

LIGHTOLLER (CONTD)
Whats that get up youve got on?
Remove that veil and those glasses
now.

The mummy backs up and shuffles off. Rick follows her. Fred
spots William helping women board.

FRED
William, you need to help me.
Ricks going after the mummy.

WILLIAM
Cant blame him.

Fred and William follow Rick and the mummy.

INT. LOWER DECK - CREW CABINS - NIGHT

Joughin drinks whiskey as water rises up the steps. He


throws furniture and floatable objects into the water.
Survivors grab and fumble at them.

INT. CALIFORNIAN - BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

STONE
Have a look at her now. Thats
strange.

Gibson looks through the binoculars.

BINOCULAR POV

Theres no ship, just some flickering lights along the


horizon of the water.

BACK TO SCENE

GIBSON
A ship is not going to fire rockets
at sea for nothing.

STONE
Report it to the captain.

Gibson picks up a speaking tube and wakes up Lord.

GIBSON
Captain, the ship fired eight
rockets and has disappeared to our
southwest.

Lord wakes up and rubs his face with his hands.

LORD (V.O.)
Were they all white rockets?

GIBSON
Yes, sir.

LORD (V.O.)
What time is it?

GIBSON
Ten after two by the wheelhouse
clock.

LORD (V.O.)
Note it in the log. Im going back
to bed.

GIBSON
Yes sir.

INT. TITANIC - D DECK - FORE GRAND STAIRCASE - NIGHT

Benjamin and Victor sit on deck chairs in the foyer of the


grand staircase and sip brandy and smoke cigars. A STEWARD
approaches them as he heads up to the boat deck.

STEWARD
Youd better get up to the boat
deck.

BENJAMIN
Weve dressed up in our best and
are prepared to go down like
gentlemen.

EXT. BOAT DECK - NIGHT

The passengers scramble to the stern as the bow goes down


into the water. The four inch steel CABLE STAYS on the
forward funnel SNAP and the

FUNNEL

CRASHES down into the WATER, WHOOSH! WHAM! Several


passengers are crushed to death. The BOILERS, COAL,
FURNITURE and CARGO CRASH AROUND as the

HEAD OF BOW

sinks.

Hartley and the band stop playing. They start to walk away
and Hartley plays his violin. The other members return and
they play Nearer, Thy God, To Thee.

INT. A DECK - SMOKING LOUNGE - NIGHT

Andrews stands in front of the painting Plymouth Harbour.


He stares into the painting for a few moments. The FIRE
CRACKLES as he pokes the wood, he rests his arms above the
fireplace.

EXT. OCEAN - TITANIC - BOAT DECK - PORT SIDE - NIGHT

Lightholler and Gracie use oars as a ramp to lower

COLLAPSIBLE B

from the roof of the officers quarters. It lands upside


down on the deck with a THUD. A WAVE WASHES away the boat as
the bow of the Titanic sinks into the ocean.

Lightoller is sucked into a

VENTILATION SHAFT

BOOM! He is blown clear by a BLAST of HOT AIR.

Lightoller, Gracie, Bride and other passengers and crew


members climb on top of the overturned boat.

SURVIVORS STANDING IN TWO ROWS

keep the boat from rocking.

LIGHTOLLER
The water is so cold, its like a
thousand knives were driven into my
body.

JOUGHIN
Help me!

Joughin swims to the boat but theres no room. Lightoller


holds Joughins hand as he swims beside the boat.

INT. TITANIC - BOAT DECK - WIRELESS ROOM - NIGHT

Smith enters as Phillips TAPS out a message on the wireless


KEYS.

SMITH
What have we got Mr. Phillips?

PHILLIPS
Just sent that the engine rooms
flooded. Nothing from that steamer
on our port side.

The lights flicker on and off.

SMITH
Were losing power.

PHILLIPS
If we just had a little more time.

SMITH
Well boys, youve done your duty
and done it well. I ask no more of
you. I release you. You know the
rule of the sea. Its everyman for
himself now, and God Bless you!

Phillips starts to leave. He returns, shuts the door, sits


down and TAPS another SOS message on the wireless KEYS.

A coal trimmer runs in and attempts to steal a life belt.

BRIDE
Hey, thats my life jacket! What
are you doing?

Bride grabs the coal trimmer. They struggle and Bride


tackles him to the floor.

BRIDE (CONTD)
Phillips, help me! Help.

Phillips grabs a paperweight and clubs the coal trimmer over


the head with it.

PHILLIPS
Lets get out of here!

Phillips and Bride put on their life jackets and leave.

INT. BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

WATER GUSHES over the forecastle. Smith picks up his


megaphone.

SMITH
Abandon Ship! Everyman for
himself!

Smith walks into the wheelhouse and shuts the door.

WATER ENGULFS the bridge and rises higher and higher. Smith
places both of his hands on the wheel and braces himself.

The WATER SHATTERS the GLASS, GUSHES in and pins him against
the wheelhouse wall. Smith drowns and sinks to the bottom of
the wheelhouse.

INT. FORE GRAND STAIRCASE - NIGHT

The mummy and Rick walk down the stairs and are on the
landing with Fred and William close behind. Rick has his
rope, chain and knife. He corners the mummy. Fred and
William move in. Fred takes the rope, William the knife.

RICK
Come on bitch! Reasoning days are
over.

Rick charges the mummy and wraps the chain around her neck.
He tries to pin her down.

RICK (CONTD)
Help me!

Fred holds down the mummys legs. William hesitates.

WILLIAM
Damn.

William pins down the mummys right arm.

The mummy looks up.


122.

GLASS DOME

vibrates and comes CRASHING DOWN on all of them with a great


BOOM and GLASS SHATTERING. William and Fred die instantly.
Rick dies as he attempts to free himself. The mummy crawls
out of the debris and stands up.

MUMMY (V.O.)
Those fools! They each could have
been saved. What an age, Im glad
its not mine.

EXT. OCEAN - TITANIC - LIFEBOATS - NIGHT

The Titanics stern lifts high into the air. Dozens of


passengers jump off the stern into the water. There is a
RUMBLING ROAR and a series of CRASHES as the FURNITURE,
ENGINES and BOILERS SLAM into the BOW section.

There are several MUFFLED EXPLOSIONS followed by loud BOOMS


after several BOILERS EXPLODE. The stern is now at a forty-
five degree angle.

LIFEBOAT FOUR

rows around the Titanics stern. The passengers stare and


gape.

PASSENGERS POV

The massive rudder and the manganese-bronz alloy propellers


are exposed.

BACK TO LIFEBOAT FOUR

The passengers are stunned and speechless.

TITANIC

splits into two sections.

FORWARD SECTION

sinks into the ocean.


123.

STERN

bobs up like a cork and sticks straight out of the water at a


90 degree angle for several seconds. Several passengers jump
off the stern as it quietly slides straight down into the
ocean.

HUNDREDS OF PASSENGERS AND CREW MEMBERS

SCREAM and MOAN as they are left dying in the ocean. Many
try to swim for lifeboats and are rejected by passengers.
Debris from the ship is everywhere. The passengers and crew
members look like swarms of bees in the water.

LIFEBOAT SIX

Hichens steers away from the Titanic debris field.

MOLLY
We need to go back and search for
survivors!

HICHENS
Shut up you old bag. Were not
going back... we could get sucked
in...

MOLLY
Well, we can row ladies, it will
keep us warm.

Molly and a few women start rowing.

COLLAPSIBLE B

Lightoller blows his WHISTLE in short bursts and its HIGH


PITCH pierces the night air. Lifeboats four and twelve come
to its rescue and collect survivors.

EXT. SKY - STARS - MOVING SHOT - ANUBIS - NIGHT

Anubis holds his staff high up into the air and the crystal
ANKH SPINS, WHIZZ! Green, red and blue sparks swirl around
and travel up into space. They guide the hundreds of ghost
lights through a wormhole in space to ferry the earth-freed
souls straight through Duat, Egyptian purgatory, to Aaru.

GREEN, BLUE AND VIOLET LIGHTS

flicker across the clear sky.

EXT. OCEAN - LIFEBOAT SIX

MOLLY
(pointing up)
Look at those lights!

EXT. OCEAN - CARPATHIA - BOAT DECK - BRIDGE - NIGHT

Rostron and Second Officer JAMES BISSET look through their


binoculars and search for survivors. Both spot a lifeboat.

BINOCULAR POV

A lifeboat floats amidst debris.

BACK TO SCENE

ROSTRON
Fire a green starburst rocket so
they know were here.

BISSET
Yes sir.

Bisset fires off the ROCKET, BOOM! A green bloom appears in


the sky. Boxhall sees it. He stands up, waves his arms.

BOXHALL
Over here, over here!

ROSTRON
Weve found them.

INT. AARU - PALACE - BEDROOM - DAY (DAWN)

Tao is sitting beside the bed and Ahhoteps eyes flutter


open. Tao grabs her in a big bear hug and runs his hand down
her face.

TAO
Oh, my wife. Welcome home.

AHHOTEP
Its good to be back. Go out into
the palace grounds. See what
followed me home.

EXT. AARU - PALACE GROUNDS - DAY

Tao steps onto the palace grounds. Hundreds of his soldiers


are newly arrived and stand at order.

INT./EXT. AARU - COURT OF JUSTICE - DAY

Anubis stands before several ancient Egyptian gods.

Ahhotep and Tao wait for Anubis on the courthouse steps.


Anubis emerges and approaches Ahhotep and Tao. He raises his
staff.

ANKH

The crystal is gone.

AHHOTEP
Well?

ANUBIS
Fined. And I must surrender the
crystal for one year.

Tao puts his hand on Anubis shoulder.

TAO
Consider the fine paid.

AHHOTEP
And youll use my star emerald for
the duration.

Ahhotep pulls her star emerald from the folds of her gown and
hands it to Anubis.

ANUBIS
You knew.

AHHOTEP
I guessed. This isnt the first
time youve been before the
Tribunal.

EXT. ATLANTIC OCEAN - DAY (DAWN)

The water is dead calm.

ANUBIS, STAFF IN HAND, ATOP PYRAMID SHAPED ICEBERG

as it floats across the open sea.

UNDERWATER SHOT OF MUMMY EMBEDDED AT BOTTOM OF ICEBERG.

FADE OUT.

SCREEN - DAY

Roll credits. Crew members of the CS MacKay Bennett retrieve


bodies in the North Atlantic from the Titanic. A SEAMAN
pulls up the mummy cat and places it on the boat deck.

SEAMAN
Have you ever seen a rat like this?

FIRST OFFICER makes a face.

FIRST OFFICER
Ugh! Throw that back!

The seaman throws the MUMMY CAT back into the water, SPLASH!

FIRST OFFICER (CONTD)


How many bodies have we retrieved
so far?

SEAMAN
Three hundred and six, sir.

FIRST OFFICER
I heard over 1,500 passengers
perished, most of them froze to
death.

SEAMAN
Most of those bodies will never be
recovered.

FIRST OFFICER
Its almost as if that ship was
cursed.

The head lifts, an eye opens.
