Perawatan Space Maintainer pada Premature Loss Gigi Molar Sulung

Abstrak

Kehilangan gigi sulung secara dini dapat menimbulkan anomali pada lengkung rahang
oleh karena adanya pergeseran gigi sebelah dan gigi antagonis kearah ruangan yang kosong
sehingga dapat menimbulkan maloklusi gigi.Gigi sulung yang mengalami premature loss
harus segera dilakukan perawatan agar tidak menyebabkan kehilangan ruangan. Seorang
pasien anak perempuan berusia 7 tahun dating ke RSGMP UNJANI dengan keluhan gigi
belakang bawah ompong di sisi kanan dan kirimya., sehingga merasa tidak nyaman apabila
sedang mengunyah makanan . Gigi tersebut dilakukan pencabutan karena kondisi gigi yang
telah rusak, dan gigi pengganti masih belum erupsi. Perawatan dengan gigi sulung yang
mengalami premature loss dapat dilakukan beberapa tindakan preventif. Space maintainer
dapat dipilih sebagai tindakan preventif untuk mempertahankan ruangan yang diakibatkan
premature loss.

Abstract

Early loss of primary teeth can cause anomalies in the arch of the jaw due to a shift of the
teeth and the antagonist to the empty space so that it can cause malocclusion of the teeth.
Primary teeth that experience premature loss should be done immediately so as not to cause
loss of space. A young woman 7-year-old comes to RSGMP UNJANI with a toothless
complaining on the right side , so it feels uncomfortable to chewing the food. The tooth is
removed because of the condition of the tooth that has been damaged, and the replacement
teeth are still not erupted. Treatment with deciduous teeth that experience premature loss can
be done some preventive measures. Space maintainers can be selected as a preventive
measure to defend the space due to premature loss.
