Pump identification:

In order to ask for information and spare parts of the pump it is necessary to communicate its
serial number.

The serial number is present on a nameplates fixed on the same pump.

There are two types of nameplates (A and B); on the A type, made of aluminium, fixed on the
pump protection of the V-belts, you may find:

1. Pump model
2. Pump power
3. Pump rounds number (r.p.m.)
4. Pump serial number

On the two types B, made of stainless steel, fixed on the pump base, instead it is indicated only
the serial number of pump.

(VERSION WITH OIL LUBRICATION OF THE BEARINGS)

SUBSTITUTION OF MECHANICAL SEALS (Drawing n 88A-06)

Remove the aspiration casing pos. 1 unscrewing the peripheric bolts in order to see the impeller
pos. 3.
Unscrew the blocking cap pos. 5 (IMPORTANT! The cap is RIGHT-HAND THREADED), only
after to have removed its covering in rubber pos. 4, remove the impeller pos. 3 and key pos. 6.
Remove the motor casing pos. 8 from mechanical seals box pos. 19 unscrewing the bolts which
join it to the flange.
Now, after the mechanical seals box pos. 19 have been removed, its possible to arrive to the
mechanical seals pos. 9, 10 (anterior mechanical seals), 12 and 13 (posterior mechanical seals).

Note that the flange pos. 32 remains fixed to the base of pump pos. 29 by means
of socket head screws (see the figure here at right). In this way it is possible to
replace the mechanical seals only without making necessary to discharge first
the oil that is lubricating the bearings.

Extract the seals box with much caution in order not to hit the fixed ring made of silica carbide
pos. 9 of the front mechanical seal against the seal sleeve pos. 11.

In order to change the stationary ring pos. 9 of anterior mechanical seal, remove the mechanical
seals cover pos. 16 from the mechanical seals box pos. 19 and after remove the stationary ring that
blocks the seal pos. 18.
Now, after the seal sleeve pos. 11 has been taken off from the shaft pos. 28, the rotating seals pos.
10 (anterior) and 12 (posterior) can be removed from the sleeve (in doing this operation it is not
necessary to removed the seal spacer pos. 33). When the sleeve is been extracted, the fixed
posterior mechanical seal ring pos. 13 can be removed from its seals flange pos. 32 and after
remove the seal ring that holds the stationary ring (if present).
PAY THE GREATEST ATTENTION WHEN REMOUNTING THE MECHANICAL SEALS AND
SPECIALLY BE SURE THAT THE FACES OF THE RINGS ARE WELL CLEAN AND THERE
ARE NOT FINGER PRINTINGS WHICH COULD CAUSE THE RINGS STICKING
PREVENTING THEIR ROTATION, SO WET SOFTLY WITH WATER OR OIL THE RINGS TO
ASSURE THE SEALING FILM. A DEFECTING SEALING IS INDICATED BY IMPURITIES IN
THE DRAIN WATER OR IN THE LUBRICATING OIL. IN THAT CASE THE FAILURE MUST
BE PROMPTLY REPAIRED TO AVOID SERIOUS DAMAGES TO THE BEARINGS

Note. When the mechanical seals must be replaced, it is advisable to change

also the O-rings pos. 15, 17 and 21. Pay maximum attention, during the
reassembly of front seal cover pos. 16 on the flanged box pos. 19 and of the
flanged box on the mechanical seal flange pos. 32 and sleeve pos. 11 from in
the shaft. Pay attention to not damage the O-rings pos. 15, 17, 21 and 31.

In order to substitute the angus ring MIM G2 (special) pos. 12 it is necessary

to remove the mechanical seal flange pos. 32 from the base pos. 29
unscrewing the socket head screws off the flange (figure in the right).

ATTENTION! BEFORE PERFOMING THIS

OPERATION, IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVED
THE LUBRICANT BEARINGS OIL FROM THE
DISCHARGE PLUG (see beside figure), OR THE
OIL WILL BE LOST

SUBSTITUTION OF BEARINGS
Just the above described operations are been made, must:
Remove the pulley mounted on the shaft, remove the posterior key pos. 40, the cover pos. 42 (it
closes, as mill pack, the posterior bearing box pos. 43 on the base pos. 29) and the chromium plated
posterior spacer pos. 41. Beating softly the shaft from the pulley side with a wood hammer, the
shaft will exit from the opposite side with the bearings pos. 24 and 34, the bearings box pos. 22, the
cover of the bearing box pos. 25 and the threaded KM ring pos. 27. Please notice that the internal
ring pos. 35 of the rear bearing will remain mounted on the shaft pos. 28. Before reassembling this
ring KM pos. 27, please remember to insert before the toothed ring MB pos. 26.
In order to remove the bearings pos. 24 and 34 from the shaft, unscrew before the KM ring nut pos.
27 (ATTENTION! LEFT THREAD), extract the spacer pos. 30, take apart the of the bearing box
pos. 25 that will exit together with the bearing pos. 34 and then extract the box bearing pos. 22. At
this point, from the opposite part, the bearing pos. 24 can be extract from the shaft pos. 28.

ATTENTION! When the bearings will be reassembled pos. 24 and 34 will be reassembled, it must be
followed this chronology: be fore bearing pos. 24 after from the opposite part the bearings box pos.
22, the bearing pos. 34, the cover of bearing box pos. 25, the spacer (in the ring nut side) pos. 20 and
finally block all of these by means the first KM ring nut (ATTENTION! LEFT THREAD) pos. 27.
Before of remounted the second KM ring nut, it is indispensable to insert toothed ring MB pos. 26.

Note. When the seals flange and the front bearing box are remounted on the base and seal sleeve pos.
11 on the shaft and the posterior spacer on the shaft, the flange, the cover and the bearing box pay
much attention to not damage the O-rings pos. 21, 23 36, 37 and 39, and if they have abrasions or
cuts, change them. All of times the bearings are substituted we suggest to replace the ring pos. 38.

IMPORTANT! When the impeller is remounted, it is important to lubricate internally its hub by a
specific paste with antiseizing and anticorrosive characteristics in order to can newly remove the
impeller without difficult also after an long working time. Then, for this type of coupling use a
white synthetic paste lubricant type EP/HT, if there is a difficult to find this product contact directly
Perissinotto S.p.A.

IMPORTANT! Also, everytime the casings are remounted it is absolutely mandatory to insert the
spacer rings on the peripheric bolts. In the contrary case, the impeller can remain blocked between the
casings, causing the wear of the rubber linings at the next starting, or even the pump can be completely
blocked.

BEFORE OF A PUMP RESTARTING:

Refill the lubrication oil of the bearings, previously discharged, into the base, or if it is necessary,
replace it with ~ 1,7 kg of new one (the suggested oil for bearings is type EP 100 or similar).
In case of water lubrication of the mechanical seals, make sure that the
intermediate mechanical seals box is washed with clean running water. One
must connect the input pipe (inlet flushing water on the picture beside) to
the lower connection, which must have one on-off tap (to be closed only
during maintenance of the pump). The drain (outlet flushing water) will be
connected to the upper connection, after which there is the main tap (NOT
shown on the picture aside), to be used to adjust the flow of the water and
the pressure inside the mechanical seals chamber: in this way, formation of
air bubbles inside the seal chamber is also avoided. A defecting sealing is
indicated by impurities in the drain water. In that case, the failure must be
promptly repaired to avoid serious damages of the second seal.

ATENTION! Check periodically the oil level through the two indicators, visible on both sides of the
pump. In any case, replace totally the lubricating oil every six months.

Use, for topping up and total replacement, as previously indicated, specific bearings oil, normally
found on the market. For oil filling one should use the upper load plug, and for total oil replacement
use the discharge plug, as indicated in the figure.

The user is kindly requested to follow scrupulously our instructions to avoid damages to the pump.
The non-observance of these directions makes automatically to decay our warranty.
