DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION/ ADAPTATIONS/ INTERVENTIONS


This lesson will address students with audio or visual learning styles by presenting students with a video,
discussion, and PowerPoint presentation. This lesson will also address students abilities to work in a
cooperative manner, by providing multiple opportunities to work with a partner.

PROCEDURES
Introduction/ Lesson Set
Review Workplace Ethics
o Walk students through multiple workplace dilemmas, students will gather on one side of
the room if they believe the action was ethical or on the other side of the room if they
believe it was unethical. Students will provide explanations for choice

Discuss the differences between workplace ethics and social responsibility

What is social responsibility? (the duty to do what is best for the good of society)

No artificial flavors, preservatives, hormones, GMOs, pesticides, etc. Organic, cage free,
and all natural qualities are considered ethical behaviors in the food industry today.
Many consumers will pay a higher price for a product they know was harvested and
created in the best possible manner.
Responsibility to Employees

Sometimes being ethical, can be more costly than not. However, many customers are
willing to pay more to purchase products or services from an ethical company.
Responsibility to Creditors & Owners
o Sarbanes-Oxley Act-mandates truthful reporting & CEO more accountable
o SEC-if a corporation, must present annual report to public

Research your company, and fill out the business responsibilities graphic organizer

Focus on a companys responsibility to employees, specifically in the area of diversity
Research the same company from yesterday
Write a 2-3 sentence paragraph explaining your companys policies on diversity

ASSESSMENT

Diagnostic:

Formative:
As students complete assignments, I will walk the classroom to answer questions and provide assistance
and feedback.
Summative:
Students will complete a Kahoot game to review concepts and identify where review is needed.

differences in their companys diversity policies.

If technology fails, I will provide students hard copies of materials.
