Austin Cove Baptist College consists of two schools which make up one college located in South

Yunderup. Austin Cove Baptist College is a Private school under the Australian Independent Schools

of Western Australia and their affiliation is Baptist. The school first opened in February 2011 and

now has 450 students from Kindy to year 6. Within the student population there is a higher girl to

boy ratio with 1% of the students being Indigenous, and 5% with a language background other than

English. There are 48 teaching staff throughout the college and 27 non-teaching staff.

Austin Cove Baptist College provides their students with a high standard of education in a safe,

caring and positive environment with a Christian context. They have set their mission based on the

other Baptist schools within Western Australia which all have the same three foundational aims.

These are excellence in education, a safe caring and respectful environment and an awareness of

god. From their foundational aims they developed their college moto Run with Endurance which

relates to the students schooling journey.

The Primary School has a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy to provide the students with

the opportunities to take on what lies ahead. They also provide the students with endless

opportunities to work cooperatively and allow the students to progress at their own rate. The

Primary Schools academic philosophy is to work hard, infuse urgency and never give up. The

NAPLAN results from the primary school show improvements from year 3 to year 5 with the average

of students sitting in Band 6.

This school offers three different programs, music, sports and language. The music program offers a

choir, guitar and keyboard lessons and a stage band. The Sports program includes basketball, circus

skills, football, hockey, netball, rugby, soccer, surfing, swimming, touch football and volleyball. The

language program consists of three languages, French, Japanese and Italian.
