Introduction
In this assignment we were asked to keep a food journal for 1 day to test if we were
getting the proper amount of nutrition in an average day. After turning in the food journal we
were given back a complete paper with our data including our total calories, protein,
carbohydrates, fat, saturated fat, calcium, Iron, Sodium, vitamin D, vitamin C, and Folate levels.
Then we were asked to calculate the recommended daily amount against the intake we had in
the day we kept the food journal to test if we met the recommended daily amounts for us.

Results
The recommended daily amounts for % of fat is less than 30% and my intake was 46%,
which did not meet the recommended daily amount. The recommended daily amount of
saturated fat is less than 10% and my intake was 14.5%, which did not meet the recommended
daily amount. The recommended daily amount of carbohydrates is more than 55% and my
intake was 37.15%, which did not meet the recommended daily amount. The recommended
daily amount for protein is your weight in kilograms multiplied by .8 grams of protein which
was 38.18 grams for me, my intake was 90.3 grams which did meet the recommended daily
amount. The recommended daily amount for fiber is 30 grams and my intake was 16.4 grams,
which did not meet the recommended daily amount. The recommended daily amount of
vitamin C is 75 milligrams, my intake was 17.6 milligrams which did not meet the recommended
daily amount. The recommended daily amount for Folate are 400-600 micrograms, my intake
was 337.7 which did not meet the recommended daily amount. The recommended daily
amount for vitamin D is 600 milligrams and my intake was 1.313 milligrams which did not meet
the recommended daily amount. The recommended daily amount for calcium is 1,000-1,200
milligrams, my intake was 944.2 milligrams which did not meet the recommended daily
amount. The recommended daily amount of iron is 17- 18.9 milligrams, my intake was 13.9
milligrams which did not meet the recommended daily amount. The recommended daily
amount of sodium is 500-2400 milligrams, my intake was 4532 milligrams which did not meet
the recommended daily amount.
