Greetings DniMAS Alumni and Friends:

This year marks the 25th Anniversary

of the Dozoretz National Institute for
Mathematics and Applied Sciences
(DNIMAS) Program, and it is my hope
that you will join us at Norfolk State
University for the DNIMAS reunion.
This celebration of the growth and
legacy of the DNIMAS Program will
take place September 17-19, 2010.

I am sure that it only seems like yesterday when you

were walking inside the halls of the Woods Science
Building preparing to enter your first class at Norfolk
State University. Today, all of you are accomplished
professionals in your fields. As Dean of the College
of Science, Engineering, and Technology, I am proud
of all of you. I am also excited about the opportunity
to see you once again.

In December of 1985, the DNIMAS Program

DNIMAS
was created “to address the severe shortage of
minorities in the sciences.” Over the past 25 years,
the DNIMAS Program has successfully produced
321 graduates who are now accomplished in fields
of medicine, engineering, technology and science.
More importantly, DNIMAS alumni are serving as
role models to a new group of young students that
