STEP 1: INTAKE
Contact CalWORKs for Intake appointment. 805-289-6003

STEP 2: ADMISSION APPLICATION

Go to VC website to complete... see Prospective Students, select Apply online
Today. The Student Connect Center can also assist you with the online
admission application process.
VCCCD Portal Username: ___________________________________________________
Make sure to remember your password.

STEP3: BOGW FEE WAIVER

Go to the VC Financial Aid Website under Quick Links to complete a BOGW
online or you can print out a copy to submit to Financial Aid. You may also
qualify for a BOGW through your FAFSA application.

STEP 4: FINANCIAL AID - Make sure to visit the Financial Aid Office for assistance.
Complete the FAFSA Financial Aid Application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The
link is also under Quick Links on the VC Financial Aid webpage. VC Financial Aid
will assist you with completing this online application in their computer lab. March
1st is first priority deadline, if you miss this deadline, you may still complete
FAFSA and apply for financial aid throughout the academic year.

STEP5: REQUEST TRANSCRIPT(S)

CalWorks requires transcripts for any high school and college previously attended.
Request these from your school and submit to Admissions & Records.

 STEP6: ASSESSMENT TESTING

Math/English/Reading Assessment is required to assist counselors in appropriate course

planning. See the VC website for assessment dates and times or call the VC Assessments Office
at 805-289-6402 for more information.

STEP7: COUNSELING AT CALWORKS

Make an appointment with CalWorks for an Education Plan. You must have an Educational Plan on
file for both CalWorks and Financial Aid.

STEP8: CLASS REGISTRATION

Register for classes online by visiting the my.vcccd.edu portal - if you need assistance please visit the
Student Connect Center. To register for classes in person, please visit the Admissions & Records
Office.
NOTE: Classes must be on your Educational Plan.

FINAL STEP: Individual Training Plan (ITP)

Make an appointment with CalWorks for ITP and book voucher request. Please bring a copy of
your referral or WTW plan.

Note: Supplies will be provided once your Welfare-to-Work plan is on file and updated with
the CalWorks Office.
