want to keep that to revise from.

First up in the Zero to Hero are your level 2 Gym and your level 3 Personal Training to give you
your baseline knowledge and practical capabilities. Then follows the Diploma in Functional
Performance and your skills will really start to take off. This is what makes you different. Better.

Level 2 Gym Instructor


Directed around the learner, this course is delivered primarily online,
with two days of attendance giving you flexibility to choose when
and where you wish to study. What’s more, you will be assigned a
personal mentor to guide you through your studies.

You will learn the necessary qualities to become a true fitness


professional - learn how the body functions to produce movement, a
range of exercise techniques, and be able to create safe and
effective individualised gym programmes for a variety of clients.

This course is a vocationally related qualification (VRQ) at level 2 on


the National Qualifications Framework. It also provides access onto
the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at level 2.

The course contains the following elements:

• Exercise and fitness knowledge


• Health, safety and professionalism in exercise and
fitness instruction
• Instructing gym

Level 3 Personal Trainer


Personal Trainer is a vocationally related qualification (VRQ), at Level
3 on the National Qualifications Framework and allows access to the
Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) at Level 3

This part of the course is again delivered by distance learning, with


videos to help you learn key practical skills and a further day of
attendance to practice and deliver them.

You will learn the necessary qualities to develop your personal


training business, your knowledge of advanced anatomy, health and
fitness assessment, exercise nutrition for performance and weight
loss, advanced training methods and programme design as well as
advanced equipment use.

The course contains the following elements:

• Health, fitness and Lifestyle Analysis


• Advanced Exercise and Fitness Knowledge
• Advanced Resistance Training
• Advanced Cardiovascular Training
• Nutrition and Weight Management Advice
• Plan, Market and Sell Personal Training Services 2/5
Diploma in Functional Performance (Dip FP)
Now you have the basics of being a personal trainer under your belt,
we set about showing you a whole new world of movement in 3D!

And... as soon as you have your level 3 Personal Trainer certificate,


you can look for work and start practising. Money and experience
before you finish your course!

This part of the course is for trainers who want to know everything!
FASTER shows you the thought process that will give you the ability
to predict every movement sequence, at every joint, in all planes,
with all muscle reactions and then be able to build an assessment
for all of these. You will learn how to build programmes using every
piece of equipment on the market and using your current system of
programming as well as many more that are now popular on the
market.

The course runs over 3 blocks of two days and can be learned one to
one in a venue of your choice, one to three or one to five at venues
around the country.

Module 1 – Movement Analysis

• Translation, Rotation and Joint Feelings


• Sequencing of all movements
• Defining exercise descriptions
• Evaluating and describing assessments
• Evaluating and describing solutions

Module 2 – The Hip Expert

• Building Hip Flexion, Extension, Abduction, Adduction, Internal


and External Rotation
• Defining the roles of all muscles that cross this joint
• Building aggressive and integrated exercises for all the
joint muscles
• Building movement specific assessments for each movement
within the joint, within specific movements and performance
• Building movement specific solutions, including hands on to
each of the movements

Module 3 – The Foot and Ankle Expert

• Building Subtalar, Talocrural and Mid Tarsal (talonavicular


and calcaneocuboid)
• Defining the roles of all muscles that cross this joint specifically
looking at up right motions verse lying motions and the
effect on the muscle
• Building aggressive and integrated exercises for all the joint
muscles
• Building movement specific assessments for each movement
within the joint, within specific movements and performance
• Building movement specific solutions, including hands on to
each of the movements

Module 4 – The Thoracic Spine Expert

• Building Thoracic Flexion, Extension, Right and Left Lateral Flexion


and Right and Left Rotation
• Defining the roles of all muscles that cross this joint
• Building aggressive and integrated exercises for all the
joint muscles
• Building movement specific assessments for each movement
within the joint, within specific movements and performance
• Building movement specific solutions, including hands on to each
of the movements

Module 5 – The Lumbar, Knee and Shoulder Expert

• Building Knee Flexion, Extension, Abduction, Adduction, Internal


and External Rotation,
• Lumbar Flexion, Extension, Right and Left Lateral Flexion and Right
and Left Rotation and Shoulder Flexion, Extension, Abduction,
Adduction, Internal and External Rotation
• Defining the roles of all muscles that cross these joints including
the Pelvic Floor
• Building aggressive and integrated exercises for all the joint muscles
• Building movement specific assessments for each movement within
the joint, within specific movements and performance
• Building movement specific solutions, including hands on to each of
the movements

Module 6 – Programming Application

• Follow the FASTER Performance System Assessment Template


• Build effective Personal Performance Matrices
• Build and deliver Vague Matrices including over 100 exercises
delivered in a 5 minute block
• Learn every exercise manipulation and how each one affects your
programming. These manipulations include Reps, Sets, Weight,
Volume, Tempo, Gravity Enhancers, Momentum
• Enhancers, Ground Reaction Enhancers, Angles, Heights,
Distances, Speeds, Controls, Feedback and more…

Learn how to use the FASTER Exercise Generator where you can turn
one basic movement in to thousands of variants on that movement.
Build specific programmes for your clients that sit over macro, meso
and micro cycles and fit any goal from strength to speed via
endurance!

Once You Have Done All That...


You will have finished the course! You will have had a lot of practice in
the classroom and more importantly, live in the gym. We really
encourage you to interact with real clients during the course and as
soon as you have your level 2 certificate, get involved with
instructing.

So, you will be ready to spread your wings as a personal trainer. But
we don’t leave it at that.

personal training, just the same as you and they can help and give
