Chapter 1
PRELIMINARY

First at all, give thanks for Gods love and grace for us.

Thanks to God for helping we and give we chance to finish this assighment timely.
And I would like to say thank you to Mr. Rahmat Fajri,S.Pd,.M.Hum as that always teaches
us and give much knowledge about how to practice English well.

This assighment is the one of English task that composed of Practical English Usage
English As Second Language I realized this assighment is not perfect. But I hope it can be
useful for us. Critics and suggestion is needed here to make this assighment be better.

Hopefully we as a student in Ubudiyah Indonesia University can work more professional

by using English as the second language whatever we done. Thank you.
Chapter 2
ARTICLES Is a word used to modify a noun, which is a person, place,
object, or idea. Technically, an article is an adjective, which is any word that
modifies a noun. Usually adjectives modify nouns through description, but
articles are used instead to point out or refer to nouns.

FORM

zero article is an occasion in speech or writing where a noun or noun

phrase is not preceded by an article (a, an, or the). Also called zero
determiners.

In general, zero article is used with proper nouns, mass nouns where the
reference is indefinite, and plural count nouns where the reference is
indefinite.
Chapter 3

EXAMPLE TEXT

In a field one summers day a Grasshopper was

hopping about, chirping and singing to its hearts
content. An Ant passed by, bearing a long with great
effort an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
Why not come and chat with me, said the
Grasshopper, instead of toiling and moiling away? I
am helping to lay up food for the winter, said the Ant,
and recommend you to do the same. Why bother
about winter? said the Grasshopper; we have got
plenty of food at present.
But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil.
When the winter came the Grasshopper found it self
dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing,
every day, corn and grain from the stores they had
collected in the summer.
