The following graph demonstrates the number of tourists who arrived at five different regions of the
world in years 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005.
Central and Eastern Europe showed the sharpest rise in the number of visitors from 30 million in 1990
to almost 90 million by 2005. South East Asia also showed a prominent rise in international visitors from
only 20 million in 1990 to almost 50 million in 2005. North America showed a different trend, wherein
their tourist arrivals increased from 1990 and 2000 from around 70 million to around 90 million,
however, their tourist arrival decreased by 2 million between 2000 and 2005.
Although not as popular, both South America and Sub-Saharan Africa had a steady, but small rise in the
number of their tourists. Both had around 10 million in 1990, however, by 2005 Sub-Saharan Africa had
almost 25 million visitors and South America had almost 20 million visitors.
We can easily ascertain that North America had the largest number of tourists all over as compared to
rest of the countries and South America and Sub-Saharan Africa had the least number of tourists
overall.
