Sub: Testing of ESD antistatic access floor tile of new ASR/MSSR site.

Refer to the earlier discussion on the above subject, National Test House (SR),
Govt. Of India, Taramani, Chennai 600113 was approached for carrying out the
testing of ESD antistatic properties of access floor tile of new ASR/MSSR site.
The organisation is found to have the infrastructure to carry out above test and
has agreed for the same.

The following electrical properties of the said floor are to be tested to ensure its
ESD antistatic compliance.
1. Electrical Resistance from tile surface to pedestal bottom in the Assembled
condition.
2. Access floor tile edge(conductive beading) to pedestal bottom resistance
in the assembled condition.
3. Surface resistivity (RTT resistance surface to surface) of the access
floor. A minimum of 5 readings at different location at the floor surface to
be taken and averaged together for each 500 square feet (or fraction
thereof) of floor surface.

As serial no. 3 could be carried out only after laying of the floor, the NTH has
suggested that the serial nos. 1 & 2 shall be carried out now for accepting the
material and serial no. 3 shall be carried out by them at the site itself, once the
laying of floor is completed to confirm the ESD antistatic property of the entire
floor. It is requested to carry out the above tests with the help of NTH and
confirm the adherence of ESD flooring requirements of the supplied tile at the
earliest.
