I believe it is important to know if the technology is used in a responsible way. The last several
years in my school district we have implemented the BYOD program. It was not very well
implemented or thought out. The entire middle school, which entails of about 800 students, was
running around rampant with cell phones last year. It was constant being videoed, using their
phone, take pictures and being on the internet in ways not responsible for the educational
environment. This year---there has been a policy put into place and we all have seen major
improvement regarding technology usage and responsibility. If the students are using their own

I believe this question is important because not only do the student need to know how to use the
technology. In addition, the technology needs to enhance the students learning. If they are
learning the exact same way from sit and get without technology why go through all the
trouble and expense of the technology programs being implemented? If the students cannot use

I believe this question is important because the teachers are the facilitators of the technology
program as well as the academic content. If the teacher cannot implement the technology
effectively the students will not be able to have mastery of the content area or technology
skills.

I believe this could be completed using a student survey. It could be a district wide requirement
for students, parents and teachers. One requirement would be that each would have to complete

I believe this question could be answered from a quick visual assessment and on line assessment

Did the teachers master professional learning to effectively implement technology classroom
practices?
I believe this question could be answered from a survey, as well as, a visual assessment from the
TKS observer.
