Diet Modification and Alternative Herbal Medicines for Hypertension

I. Description of the Learner
- Patient is has a CVD and chronic hypertension. Patient perceived hypertension as the main problem causing her to have dizziness and body weakness. Appears
to be weak and has muscle strength of 4/5 on both upper and lower extremities. The patient wants to learn about the different herbal medicine that can be used as
an alternative to lower the blood pressure.

II. Learning Need


- The patient needs to learn on the DASH diet. The patient also needs to modify her current diet which is high in sodium and high in fat.

III. Learning Style and Readiness


- The patient is willing to learn about the DASH diet and other herbal medicine to lower blood pressure. The patient has an initiative to ask if there are other
solutions to hypertension

IV. Learning Diagnosis:


- Knowledge Deficit: Nutritional diet for Hypertension

V. Goals and Objectives


- Within 10 minutes of health teaching, the patient will become knowledgeable on the nutritional diet for Hypertension and most common medicinal herbals to lower
blood pressure.

OBJECTIVES:
