Morning team,

Happy November! Cant believe October is already over. Rabbit rabbit.

Before we dive into November, lets take a look at the top stories from last month. We nished the month with
9.83M users, our third best month of all ^me and a 96% increase year-over-year and a 8.6% increase MoM,
according to Google Analy^cs. We had another 523k visitors from Apple News. Facebook video views reached
10.3M views, our third-best month for Facebook views of all ^me.

The top story of the month was Suze Orman's ar^cle about the age you should expect to re^re. It generated more
than 400k users, according to Google Analy^cs, and was our top story in Apple News this month with more than
220k visitors. Roughly 40% of the trac came from social, thanks to Suze pos^ng to her Facebook page and all the
brands that shared the link (MONEY, TIME, Fortune, Real Simple, Southern Living, CNBC, and Yahoo Finance). The
story also played well in all of our newsleEers subject lines: direct trac and email were the next largest referrers.
The headline, Suze Orman Says This Is the Age You Should Re^reNot a Month or Year Before, had a genuine
curiosity gap and it was fun to use a quote from her as the second part to give it some Suze air. But I think her
advice is ul^mately what made this piece so social-friendly folks debated each other in the commentsand
wrote us leEers about her advice.

Megans story, the 10 coolest neighborhoods in the U.S. right now, made it our top threeand it was nice to see a
combina^on of direct/email (35+% of the total trac), Facebook (~20% of total trac), and Flipboard (~20% of the
total trac) on this post. The Brief used this as its subject line, which seems perfect for their audience. Lis^cles
that have a wide appealand subjects that skew a bit older in interestseem to do well. Not only did MONEY and
TIME share the post on Facebook, but so did the ci^es men^oned which helped the story reach smaller audiences.
And it was ipped into our travel magazine on Flipboard, which seems to be interested in photo-heavy lis^cles
right now.

Brads story about Stephen Paddock, Las Vegas Shooter Stephen Paddock Had an Unusual Financial Life. Here's
What We Know, was an interes^ng way for us to cover the massacre. While many news orgs had reported bits
about his nancial life, this round-up provided readers with a bigger picture of his nancesa very unique aspect
of his life. The story found an audience on Facebook (~50% of total trac) and search (~30% of total trac).
MONEY and TIMEs posts werent shared muchand there werent many comments on MONEYs post, although
TIME had a lot morewhich tells me that we really cut through the noise in peoples newsfeeds and gave them
informa^on presented to them in a new way.

In the same way, Brads Harvey Weinstein ar^cle was a huge win for us as well. This post saw much more search
trac (~75% of total trac)thanks to Stephanie Cas^llos guidance. Stephanie passes along SEO outlines that
works well because her research helps us an^cipate future search queries which gives us s^cking power in search
results. This story and the Stephen Paddock ar^cle were also very visual, which I think gives the reader a beEer
user experience.

Jens story, The Most Expensive House in the World is Up for Sale, was picked up by Drudge Report which sent a
big chunk of the trac to this post (40+% of total trac).

Another search win: Here Is Everything Closed on Columbus Day. Lisa Marie used subheds that matched up with
queries like Are banks open on Columbus Day? to make sure this post was an^cipa^ng future search queries.
Wondering where to nd these queries? The rising sec^on of Google Trends or the keyword sec^on of Google
News!

The giZ that keeps on giving: Jens A Ranking of the Richest Women of the Kardashian-Jenner Clan. More than 90%
of the trac to this ar^cle in October came from search, which just shows how well an in-depth ar^cle can
perform. We were recently told that this ar^cle ranks high for the term net worth on almost every
Kardashian/Jenners Google results.

Its good to see Best Places to Live make our top 10 list again this month. Around 50% of the trac to the post
came from direct, which is essen^ally untraceable. It also looks like Realtor.com sent around 60k visitors this
month. The Facebook video also had 125k more views in October.

The last two stories were also search hits: Our write-up of the $1 margarita deal at Applebees got most of its
trac from search (around 75%). These deals are hit or miss, but its always good to op^mize for the long-term.
But srsly, who doesnt want a $1 marg.

And Jens story about the richest people in the world made our top 10 list this month largely due to its search
authority. It was perfectly posi^oned to grab trac when Je Bezos became the richest person in the world
(again).

The top video of the month was the video accompanying Elizabeths story about the father who lives in a 1000-
square-foot condo with his 5 children. I mistakenly said this video had 900k views on our page alonethose are
total views, which includes views from other Facebook pages. Thats not to downplay this video's huge successit
had over half a million views on our page alone. I really like how it complemented the ar^cle version of this story,
and engagement on the post was very posi^ve.

Disclaimer: Parselys reports arent 100%, but they are ge;ng be<er. Ill use Google AnalyAcs screenshots when I
noAce discrepancies.
