1. What program is used in your school to teach phonics?


- There are no English programmes that are used in my school, but there is a
programme for Arabic which they use on tablets.

2. How is phonics taught in your school?


- In Arabic the teacher read a short story for the children to engage them in the lesson.
- In English the teacher introduces the lesson with an activity.

3. What was the focus of the lesson?

the teacher used.
- The teacher engages her children by reading a short story, asking follow
up questions, and play a song from her phone, since they dont have a
smart board, she connect her phone with the speaker and play a song, this
type of engaging activity is very helpful because the children become
active and ready.

- The children have 7 centres in the classroom, Lego centre,
where they play with Lego and create whatever they want.
Blocks centre, it is where the students play with blocks and
build things from heir imagination. Science centre, it is where
the children discover and gain knowledge about livi ng and non
living things, or any science topic. Role play centre, it is where
the children act and pretend to be a house worker, they cook,
tidy up and wash cloths and dishes. They have a centre called
small group, it is where the Arabic teacher gather wit h one
group and give them extra work about what they have learn in
her lesson. Reading centre, in this centre the children pic the
story they want to read and read it, they also have tablets to use
in reading or writing. The last centre is the Art centre, it is
where the students do some crafts and take out their creativity in
colouring and drawing.
