Brief Description of Lesson: Students will be exploring articles and researching different hate
websites and sources against teachers. Students will present their findings on a class blog
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to: Research online and present their findings
and opinion on teacher hate sites on a classroom blog.
What the teacher must do prior to class: Proof read the article provided for students. Ensure that
all students have access to personal devices. If not, book a computer lab for the research portion of
the lesson.

Phase 1: Activating
(5: min) Using their devices students will respond to the question on Todays

Why do you think students hate their teachers?
Phase 2: Acquiring
(15: min) Students will read the Blog post titled Teacher Hate by Nancy Bailey
Students will be asked to journal their initial thoughts and opinions.
Phase 3: Applying
(45: min) Students will perform start an inquiry based project that search through
the four websites provided.
Students will be as to summarize and synthesize the information they
find and present it to the class in the form of a class blog titled,
Uncovering the Hate.
Students may enter written or video blogs that expose the sources and
resources of hate against teachers.
Phase 4: Assessment
(Duration: min) Students will be assessed on the presentation of their findings and the
number of references or sources used.
This formative assessment will be scored according to the attached
rubric.
Rationale for Teaching Strategies Included in this lesson: Students are connected to their
groups of social circles. The students in class may know of peers or sources that participant in

teacher hate sites. The Focus of this assignment is to engage students in social justice work that
effects individuals in their everyday life, by the means of the technology that they use on a daily
basis.
