Gateways to the South Art Competition and Exhibit


Please be sure to see our latest art competition
judged by Leah Mulligan Cabinum, an Adjunct
Professor of Fine Arts at Winthrop University.
Featured prominently in the exhibit are
landscapes, historical sites, and the people and
places that reflect Southern culture both past and
present. Artists from around the region entered
artwork in this years competition. Much of the art AWARDS (above left to right):

The Southern Arts Society, Inc. (SASi) is a 501c3 non-profit organization devoted to enhancing the cultural vitality of Kings Mountain, NC through the
visual arts. In support of emerging, amateur, and professional regional artists, SASi offers display space, workspace, mentoring, member promotion,
exhibition exposure, and workshops in a variety of contemporary and traditional media. In partnership with local organizations, SASi supports the
community through monthly exhibits, meeting space, and demonstrations, as well as, ongoing educational opportunities.
