Studying a Major: Changing the World

One of the concerns in young people is to choose a career, because it is something difficult

and one of the most important decisions of your life. This is what you are going to dedicate

your whole life and that is why you have to decide wisely and with passion. Maybe your

parents are encouraging you to study something you do not want and it is because they love

you so much, they care about your future and think that is the best for you. However, this is

one of those decisions that will mark your life and it is better that you take it alone. If you

choose a vocational career by your will, it would be a self-realization, having a job

satisfaction and developing skills, energy and personality according what you want for your

future.

Always we are daily on progress with technology and new applications, one of them, if you

like biology and chemistry, is biotechnology. That is the science of isolating the genetic

material of living organisms (ProQuest,1994). At present, one of the application of

biotechnology is the knowledge of the human genome to cure malignant tumors, like

ProQuest says, if we design ways to detect such genetic alterations, would allow medical

interventions in the early stages of cancer development,obtaining favorable results

(ProQuest,2009). With this career you can work on various fields and help the growth of

technology for the common good.

When you were a kid and you liked cartoons, video games or animated films and that

motivated you to grab a pencil and start drawing, you should choose Animation and digital

art. This is one of the futurist career, because the world becomes increasingly digital and the

audiovisuals becomes more popular. In a more educational way, Hoyek et al. (2014)

supported the idea that learning via animation would appeal to students and teachers.

Although animation is not merely a form of expression within other media (film, television,

or software), neither is it a medium in its own right (because it can be recorded and carried by

film, television, and software and many other forms of media) as argued by Cholodenko
(1991). Beyond contributing with the world of entertainment, youll get to know the true

meaning of animate, which is to give soul to the drawings, making them more human.

Have you ever asked yourself how do you make your favorite cereal? and how do they get to

the stores where you shop? The industrial engineer is dedicated to observe each of the

processes, for example, from the arrival of the cereal grain, until the product reaches his

hands. The technologies and tools used by industrial engineering have changed over time, for

example, Lean manufacturing. This philosophy was innovated and used by Toyota, one of the

advantages is that the lean tool you can use in your daily life, not only in the company, that is

people are looking to improve an activity and to achieve it you must analyze everything that

slows you down; then we are implementing Lean. Therefore, "the industrial engineer has

played a role in the development of society insofar as it satisfies the needs in different fields,

such as social, economic, official, financial and environmental. (Mendoza, 2016).

Choosing a career is one of the first important decisions we make in our lives and there are

many reasons to choose it. It does not matter if you choose to be Licensed in animation and

digital art, Engineer in biotechnology or to be industrial engineer, etc. because basically, you

are going to live of that. All careers have something in common, that is help the growth of

technology, find solutions, innovate in processes or improve in the world of entertainment,

etc. In short, seeking to meet and solve the needs of people. So, it is better choose it by

yourself because you know what your skills are and it could be a little difficult change it later.

Why dont you start with what you like now?
