Dear Speaker Ryan, Leader Pelosi, Leader McConnell and Leader Schumer:

As students at The George Washington University, we urge you to act immediately to pass a clean
DREAM Act following President Trumps decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
(DACA) program on March 5, 2018.

Our community values a dynamic, student-focused community stimulated by cultural and intellectual
diversity and built upon a foundation of integrity, creativity, and openness to the exploration of new
ideas. In carrying forth our universitys mission, we call on Congress to pass a permanent, long-term
solution in a bipartisan manner to protect DREAMers.

As college students, we go to class and study with DREAMers. They are active leaders in our community
and leaders of our student organizations. DREAMers are our friends and have helped to shape our college
experience that we will treasure for a lifetime.

DREAMers are no different than us and the majority of the country agrees.

As 800 college and university presidents cited in their October 19th letter to Congress calling for
legislation to protect DREAMers, a September 24-26 Fox News poll found that 62 percent of Americans
say it is extremely or very important for Congress to pass legislation to address the DREAMers. A
September 18-21 Washington Post-ABC News poll found that more than two-thirds of adults69
percentsupport allowing these individuals to stay in the United States if they had arrived as a child, had
completed high school or served in the military and had not committed a serious crime.

DREAMers on our campus and across the nation have success stories emblematic of Americas principles
and ideals. Our friends and peers should neither be penalized for their contributions to society nor should
they be used as bargaining chips for the passage of policies that will threaten immigrant families and
communities.

Therefore, we strongly urge Congress to pass a clean DREAM Act, which is a bipartisan, permanent
legislative solution that our fellow students at The George Washington University and DREAMers across
this nation deserve.

Sincerely,
The George Washington University Students for DREAMers
