Reflection

In the first quarter, there are 2 major topics which I learned in Thai language
class that are sentence analysis and GAT analyzing reading. In the first part, the
class began with the teacher Mr.Rodsak Sangkaew teaching the abbreviations of
part of speech such as n. refers to noun and v. refers to verb which would be used
in later lesson. After that, the teacher wrote down one simple sentence as to show
the student how to do it. For instances, we needed to separate the sentences into 2
main parts which are noun phrase and verb phrase. Then, I needed to analyze the
sentence structure ,and put the part of speech such as if the sentence is I am
studying, I is the noun phrase so put n.,but am studying is the verb phrase so put
aux. as am and v. as studying. At the end of each class, he usually gave the students
some practice exercises so we would understand the lesson more. In other class, he
usually gave the students different sentences with different structures because he
expected that we would be able to analyzing the sentences perfectly and be able to
apply to other lessons. After we finished sentence analysis, the teacher introduced
the new topic which was GAT analyzing reading. At first, we did the pre-test as to
see how much knowledge we had, then we started doing the practice exercises by
playing speed fast games which was so challenging and knowledgable.

From what I learnt, I think that I can apply it in myriad ways. First and
foremost, I can use it in my examination to apply to the college such as GAT which
is directly related to the lesson which Mr.Rodsak Sangkaew taught ,so I am sure
that I will be able to do the test well because I already have experience. Secondly,
since I had did the sentence analysis in english, I can use my knowledge from this
to do the TOEFL test at school and other tests which related to this subject. Thirdly,
as I did the analyzing reading, I also improve my critical thinking skill because to
do the exercises, I need to read and think a lot so that I answer it correctly and
logically.

To relate to the schools ESLOs, one of the most importances is innovative

thinker. As I already said earlier, I really needed to read and think a lot about how
to analyze the sentences and passages so that I know myself that I really developed
these significant skill. Furthermore, strategic learners who reflected on my learning
and learnt from mistakes because in the beginning of the class, I was quite
confused about analyzing the sentences;however, I tried to learn what I did
incorrectly and tried to fix those mistakes, so I could eventually did it. Lastly, I am
an articulate communicator because while I was practicing, I needed to talk and
discuss with my classmates.
