2 Corinthians 5:18 & 20

Year of Completion: Beatitude means changing attitude

Matthew 4:23-25

[23]Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the
Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

[24]News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick.
And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzedhe
healed them all.

[25]Large crowds followed him wherever he wentpeople from Galilee, the Ten Towns, Jerusalem, from
all over Judea, and from east of the Jordan River.

The Beatitude, Be-attitude or the needed attitude, the change

Trust God in the right timing - so don't be impatient.

Maraming external but personal relationship is not there. Like the Jews. Hindi lahat ng nakasanayan ay
tama.

Jesus focused on the heart, the internals, the character, the attitudes.

What goes into your mouth does not define you but what comes out of your mouth.

In Sabbath, know Him more!

About offerings - when we give our offering, it's an expression of love.

The first and the foundation of all teachings:

Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

"To be poor in spirit" is the fundamental characteristic of the citizen of the kingdom of heaven

"blessed" in Greek is "happy, blissful", a spiritual well-being and prosperity.

Psalms 144
[15]Yes, joyful are those who live like this! Joyful indeed are those whose God is the lord.

From Solomon, ang tinuod na happiness dili makita sa things in this world

Ecclesiastes 1

[2]Everything is meaningless, says the Teacher, completely meaningless!

The first step in entering the kingdom, the first step to happiness is being poor in spirit, that is, realizing
our spiritual poverty.

Ptochos (Greek)- means cringe like a beggar

Penes (Greek) - means to work to eat

We are Ptochos. We need grace ONLY God Himself can provide.

Isaiah 6

[5]Then I said, Its all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a
people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the lord of Heavens Armies.

Pride prevents people from entering into the kingdom. Pride - putting confidence in your personal
achievement

Pride - personal achievement, personal morality, personal religion, personal goodness. You are unwilling
to acknowledge the fact that the best you can do is like filthy rags.

What is a man to gain the whole world, but looses his own soul.

It's not religion that we get our confidence but in Jesus alone.

Psalms 34

[18]The lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Isaiah 57:15
The parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector

Luke 18:9-14

[9]Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned
everyone else:

[10]Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax
collector.

[11]The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like
everyone else. For I dont cheat, I dont sin, and I dont commit adultery. Im certainly not like that tax
collector!

[12]I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.

[13]But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed.
Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.

[14]I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt
themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Blessed are those who realize their state of bankrupcy

The Lord Himself is inviting you concerning your immediate and endless happiness. He desires the very
best for our lives.

1. The first tragedy is we look for happiness in the wrong places.

2. We pretend to be happy. You cover your insecurities.

True happiness is found only by entance into His kingdom.

Ephesians 1:3

Ephesians 2

[7]So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and
kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

"Theirs is the kingdom of heaven - what does it mean?

Revelation 3:21
Revelation 21:22

We are not just a member or subject to the kingdom, we are His children.

How does one become poor in Spirit?

1. Compare yourself to God, stop comparing yourself to other people.

2. Beg the Lord pray, ask the Lord for His mercy.
