POWER SHARING OF TRANSFORMERS

WITH AUTO PROTECTION

AIM:
The main aim of this project is to protect the transformer from failing or damage having
applied more loads on it and to share these overloads with another transformer.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of the project is to provide a secured environment for the transformers from
overloads which are distributing power to certain regions. These transformers with overload are
protected by sharing these overloads with another transformer.

DESCRIPTION:

Generally, a transformer is meant for distributing power up to certain region.

That should be constantly distributing power up to certain extent of applying load on it. But
whenever, the load will exceeds the limit automatically, the transformer will be brake down or it
fails in transferring of power to the load. To avoid problem, we have develop a project called
POWER SHARING OF TRANSFORMERS WITH AUTO PROTECTION.

In this project, we are using two transformers instead of one transformer.

Whenever applying the more loads on one transformer exceeding the particular limit then it will
not broke down but the excess load must be shared by the another transformer. Therefore, no
failure of transformers will occurs.

In this project, we are using two transformers for sharing of power upon exceeding the
loads. Through the micro controller, we are controlling this sharing of power with the help of
relay. The relays will trips to another transformer upon exceeding the limit of load. The ADC is
an analog to digital converter which converts the values of analog current value to the digital
value. This will be displayed as load status on the LCD display.

HARDWARES:

1. Micro Controller
2. Power supply

RESULT:

With this project we can avoid the breakage or failure of transformers from
overloads by connecting these overloads to other section of transformers. So that the
transformers can constantly distribute power to the required regions.
