To Whom It May Concern:

Ive been researching sweatshops at school, and I have found that your company has factories in
China and other parts of Asia with horrible working conditions. I have found that you pay them low
wages. I also found out that your workers are overworked. This needs to stop.

While researching, I saw that your sweatshops hires under aged women workers. Also, I saw that you
think that things can be considered Made in the U.S if 70% of the material and labor is from the U.S. I
found out that you pay your sweatshop workers 20 to 40 cents an hour. I understand that you make most
of your shoes in America but you use imported materials from Asia. You did good by increasing jobs in
America by 23% in 1994. That was a good act, but now you need more material for the shoes. I also
learned that you enforce child labor. I also learned that you use dangerous machines. I also learned that
you have a very dirty workplace.

You should try to change your ways like Nike. Nike changed their ways and still gets a lot of money.
Also, you could pay them a minimum wage. You could monitor the conditions of the sweatshops. In
conclusion, please consider making these changes to improve your overseas factories.

Sincerely,

Alexa Oglesby
