Important Information:
Welcome to Fall! It will soon be time for pumpkins and

sweets. Thank you parents for working through homework and
all of the second trips for homework and paperwork.
October is packed with great events. The TRC reading
window is now closed and we will be sharing the results with
you very soon. Please make sure your child is keeping up with
his/her reading, math, and spelling homework.
In reading, we will be working on describing
characters and how to explain how their actions
contribute to the sequence of events in a story. We will
also be working on explaining how specific aspects of a
texts illustrations contribute to what is conveyed by the
words in a story (create mood, emphasize aspects of a
character or setting.
Our math topics for the month will include
patterns in the addition table and properties of
operations. We will also learn about addition and
subtraction to 1,000. Students will also be working on
rounding to the nearest 10 and 100.
Writing will consist of learning to write
narratives. We will also be learning about nouns, and
verbs. While in science force and motion.
Contrary to K-2, grades will be entered in the
gradebook on a 10 point grading scale this year. Please
sign up for a conference on Literacy Night. The end of
the reporting period will be October 31st.
Our school year is off to an Energetic Energy Bus
