Objectives
This subject is specially designed for students who study Economic and Administrative Sciences. It aims at introducing students to the
fundamental principles governing the theory of law and right and the principles of commercial law. The subject will be giving the
undergraduates the necessary background in commercial law as applied to business and aiming for their professional development.
This general objective will be achieved through the following sub objectives:
1. Providing an introduction to Law, (its branches, sources) and Right recognized in countries that follow the Civil Legal System.
2. Understanding Business Law, its sources and affects on any business.
3. Understanding Commercial contracts, transactions and payment methods.
4. Understanding international Sales and International Payment methods.
5. Enabling the students to familiarize themselves with all aspects of commercial law establishing a background in commercial laws.
6. Applying the legal knowledge to the solution of the sorts of problems encountered in trade.
There is one class per week on Saturday from 11:00 AM to2:00 PM. The classes are designed to introduce students to key concepts and
indicate the appropriate areas for further study and exploration; they provide an opportunity to students for discussion and clarification.
Furthermore, the classes include material relevant to the real world through case studies and examples used to reinforce students
understanding and engagement. Students are also invited to suggest further topics for discussion.

You will be assessed on the following criteria:

Required Material
Instructor will provide students with required reading material on every class. On International aspects of Business Law, it is
recommended to obtain a copy of Goode, R. Commercial Law (4th edn, Penguin Books London, 2010)
