International Mathematics Olympiad

IMO 2017

International Maths Olympiad or IMO is a platform to identify and encourage the

mathematical creativity of students in different schools across India & abroad.
Students from class 1st to class 12th are eligible to appear for the 1st phase of
International Mathematics Olympiad.

IMO 2017 Registration and Application Form:

The Students can register for the exam from their school itself. No individual
participation from other source is accepted by the IMO. All the exam related
information and notifications are sent to the schools along with the registration forms,
prospectus, posters and other exam related details. The students could get the
necessary information regarding IMO from their school or through the IMOs official
website i.e www.sofworld.org.

IMO 2017 Exam Pattern:

The IMO is conducted in two phases:

Phase 1: The first phase of IMO is conducted in the respective schools of the
participants during the school hours.
For each class, there will be a separate objective type question paper consisting of
four sections that include Logical & Analytical Reasoning, Everyday Mathematics,
Achievers Section and Mathematical Reasoning.

For students from Class 1st to Class 4th:

Section Unit No. of Questions Marks

1. Logical Reasoning 10 Questions 10 Marks

2. Mathematical Reasoning 10 Questions 10 Marks

3. Everyday Mathematics 10 Questions 10 Marks

4. Achievers Section 5 Questions 10 Marks

Time duration = 60 minutes Total Questions = 35 Total Marks = 40 Marks

For students from Class 5th to Class 12th:

Section Unit No. of Questions Marks

1. Logical Reasoning 15 Questions 15 Marks

2. Mathematical Reasoning 20 Questions 20 Marks

3. Everyday Mathematics 10 Questions 10 Marks

4. Achievers Section 5 Questions 15 Marks

Time duration = 60 minutes Total Questions = 50 Total Marks = 60 Marks

Phase 2: It is conducted for students of class 3rd to class 12th. The following
students will qualify for the second round of the International Mathematics Olympiad
(IMO):

A. Class wise top 5 percent of students who appeared for the 1st level of exam.

B. Top 25 rank holders (Class wise & Zone wise).

C. Class topper, where at least 10 candidates from each class appeared in the exam
and scored a minimum of 50 percent of qualifying marks.
