INTRODUCTION

JOB SATISFACTION
The proper start to a recruitment effort is to perform a Job Satisfaction, to document the
actual or intended requirement of the job to be performed. This information is captured in a
job description and provides the recruitment effort with the boundaries and objectives of the
search. Often times a company will have job descriptions that represent a historical collection
of tasks performed in the past. These job descriptions need to be reviewed or updated prior to
a recruitment effort to reflect present day requirements. Starting a recruitment with an
accurate Job Satisfaction and job description insures the recruitment effort starts off on a
proper track for success

PURPOSE

The main purpose of conducting job satisfaction is to prepare job description and job
specification which in turn helps to the hire right quality of workforce into the organization.
The general purpose of Job Satisfaction is to document the requirements of a job and the
work performed. Job and task analysis is performed as a basis for later improvements,
including: definition of a job domain; describing a job; developing performance appraisals,
selection systems, promotion criteria, training needs assessment, and compensation plans.

In the fields of Human Resources (HR) and Industrial Psychology, Job Satisfaction is often
used to gather information for use in personnel selection, training, classification, and/or
compensation.

The field of vocational rehabilitation uses Job Satisfaction to determine the physical
requirements of a job to determine whether an individual who has suffered some diminished
capacity is capable of performing the job with, or without, some accommodation.

Professionals developing certification exams use Job Satisfaction (often called something
slightly different, such as "task analysis") to determine the elements of the domain which
must be sampled in order to create a content valid exam. When a Job Satisfaction is
conducted for the purpose of valuing the job (i.e., determining the appropriate compensation
for incumbents) this is called "job evaluation."

5
Methods

There are several ways to conduct a Job Satisfaction, including: interviews with incumbents
and supervisors, questionnaires (structured, open-ended, or both), observation, critical
incident investigations, and gathering background information such as duty statements or
classification specifications. In Job Satisfaction conducted by HR professionals, it is common
to use more than one of these methods. .

The analyst may then meet with a group of workers or incumbents. And finally, a survey may
be administered. In these cases, job analysts typically are industrial/organizational
psychologists or Human Resource Officers who have been trained by, and are acting under
the supervision of an industrial psychologist.

In the context of vocational rehabilitation, the primary method is direct observation and may
even include video recordings of incumbents involved in the work. It is common for such job
analysts to use scales and other apparatus to collect precise measures of the amount of
strength or force required for various tasks. Accurate, factual evidence of the degree of
strength required for job performance is needed to justify that a disabled worker is
legitimately qualified for disability status. In the United States, billions of dollars are paid to
disabled workers by private insurers and the federal government (primarily through the Social
Security Administration). Disability determination is, therefore, often a fairly "high-stakes"
decision. Job analysts in these contexts typically come from a health occupation such as
occupational or physical therapy.

Questionnaires are the most common methodology employed by certification test developers,
although the content of the questionnaires (often lists of tasks that might be performed) are
gathered through interviews or focus groups. Job analysts can at times operate under the
supervision of a psychometrician.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
SAMPLING DESIGN
Sampling may be defined as the selection of some part of an aggregate on the basis of
which a judgment or inference about the total is made. Sampling design is the process of
obtaining information about the population by examining the part of it.

Primary data:-
Research approaches: - Primary data can be collected in five main ways {Used in the
agencies}: through Observation, focus groups, surveys, behavioral data, and experiments.
Research instruments:-There are a two main research Instruments in collecting primary data
for the project report:
Questionnaires

Secondary data:- {Data collection tools}

There are three main data collection tools used for the project:
Telephone interview
Personal interview

Online interviews

Sample Size
It indicates the number of people to be surveyed. Large sample gives more reliable results
than small sample. But in this study, the sample size is not so large. The sample size is
restricted to 50 (Employees).

DATA COLLECTION

For any study there must be data for analysis purpose. Without data there is no means
of study. Data collection plays an important role in any study. It can be collected from
various sources. I have collected the data from two sources which are given below:

1. Primary Data
Personal Investigation
Observation Method
Information from cor
Information from superiors of the organization
2. Secondary Data
Official Websites, some other sites are also searched to find data.

15
LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

Following limitations were faced during the study:

1. While designing the questionnaire it was kept in mind to gather more and more
information from each target person. For the neither present nor descriptive questions
could have served the purpose. Therefore the questionnaire contained in the open-
ended questions.
2. The sample size was of 50 so that accuracy of data so collected could
be absurd covered by circulation of questionnaire.
3. The accuracy of indications given by the may not be consider adequate as whether
the language used in the questionnaire is understood by the respondent cannot be
taken for granted.
4. The study is based on the information gathered from the people in company.
Therefore in such case it is possible that the information supplied might be biased
because the company might have shown partiality towards their information.
5. Since the survey was limited to 50 people, it is rather difficult to give a precise
conclusion but I have tried to the best of my capability to give the conclusion on a
comprehensive manner.
