Datuk Nicol David Datuk Nicol Ann David is a Malaysian sports personality who is famous not only locally but also internationally, She is a professional squash player and is currently ranked number | in the world, She is the first Asian woman to have achieved this feat. Nicol Ann David was bom in Penang on 26 August 1983 to Desmond David, an engineer, and Ann Marie David, a teacher. Her father is a former state athlete and footballer, Nicol has two sisters, both of whom are accomplished squash players, who have made a name for themselves locally. Nicol David, as she is usually known, excelled not only in sports but also academically, when she was young, She studied at Convent Green Lane, Penang and scored 7As in her PMR examination and 7As in her SPM examination. Nicol David won her first international competition in Hong Kong in the Under-13 eategory. From then onwards, there was no stopping her. She is the first squash player to have won the ‘World Junior title twice, in 1999 and 2001. Nicol David is the only female player to have done 80. She won the British Open title 5 times, in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014 and the World Open title a record 7 times, in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, Nicol David was honoured with the Order of Merit (Darjah Bakti) in conjunction with the birthday of His Majesty Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin on 7 June 2008. On 12 July 2008, Nicol David received the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri Award in conjunction with the 70" birthday of the Penang State Governor, Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas, This award carries the title ‘Datuk’. Bt MTL Martas Model PTS English I have always wanted to go on a camping trip, but sadly I’ve never had the ‘opportunity to go on one. So imagine how thrill I was to find out that the Nature Club was organised a camping trip to Pulau Rimau the coming school break. I was so exciting! On the day of the trip, I could hardly contains my excitement. As the bus approached the campsite, I could feel my heart pound. The bus came to a stop and everyone got down and started loading the camping gear. Soon, the tents were pitch and the kitchen was set up and ready for lunch to be prepared. It is a simple meal of fried noodles and a hot drink. After lunch, we were given a 30-minute break to do whatever we want. My friends and I sat by the beach and enjoys the scenic view and gentle, cool sea breeze. Later that night, we sitting around the campfire singing songs and telling ghost stories. The next morning, we had breakfast, packed up our things, and headed home. I had the best time on this camping trip and can’t wait for the next one! eg. Some of us like to read, paint, and play the piano as a hobby. Others like collect things like stamps, coins and other unique collectibles. A hobby can greatly benefit an individuals. Hobbies enable one to spend his or her free time doing something with interest, which may even be profitable. Some people sews clothes, plant organic vegetables or collect antiques which can be sell for a profit. Some hobby even teach us to appreciate the value of the things we collecting. For example, coin and paper money collectors need to be knowledged of the currency they collect; know the history and current value. There are many shared interest and hobby group that one can find online. Through this groups, members can connect with other like-minded individuals and share knowledge regarding their shared interest. They can also organise special events or meetings to foster better kinship among its members. [10 marks] One of the most memorable times in my life was when I enrolled in Form One. I will remember that eventful year on the rest of my |eg. pote tefl seen | life. My primary education was spent on a small school in my home- | (a) town of Klang, Selangor. When it is time for secondary school, my | (b) parents made the decision to moves to Penang to take up better work |(c) opportunities there. I was really sad to left all my friends behind. In | (d) Penang, it was difficult to adapts to the new environment. My father’s | (e) new position as the head engineer at his new company keep him very | (f) busy. My mother, a bank managers, is also always swamped with work. | (g) So, my parents could not spending much time with me in Penang. |(h) At first, I had no friends in my new school. Of the beginning, I felt left over but with time, I got used to my surroundings and started making new friends. School life then became more fun and exciting. There were many interesting clubs and societies to join. {10 marks] My name is Johan and I am studying in Sekolah Menengah Taman Melati in Johor Bahru. It is a well-known school in my area. The school are three stories high. It stands majestically between Jalan Melati and Cantonment Street. I am glad that the school is situate in a quiet neigbourhood, away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. In my school, there are two session, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. All the thirty-eight classrooms are fill to full capacity during both sessions. Since it is a integrated school, there are English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil streams. There was additional classes for each mother tongue and the student take great pride in learning the different language. Our principal is Puan Sharifah. Even though she is strict, she is loves by every student. She inspects every class and also the school grounds before going home everyday. She makes sure that the school is well-kept. é.g.
