Obituaries
Randy Owsley
Randy Daniel Owsley, 66, died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017,
at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis.
Born December 24, 1950, in Sheridan, Wyo., he was one of six
children of Vern and Rosemary (Selig) Owsley. He graduated from
H. S. County High School in 1969 and was drafted into the Army
that same year. A Medic in Vietnam, he later was a Lab Tech in
Germany until being discharged.He returned to Thermopolis where
he was a Lab Tech for Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.
During that time he tried out as a Shortstop for the L.A. Dodgers
at summer camp.
In 1973 he married Jean Anderson and to
this union was born their son, Reese.The cou-
ple divorced in 2000.
His employment included R&S Well Service,
then Reda Pump until its closure. He attended
CWC earning his Associate Degree and estab-
lished the Black Willow Archery Shop. After
a brief battle with colon cancer, he closed the
shop and started Owsley Construction in 1994
from which he was recently retired.
Randys interests included hunting, fishing, camping, motorcy-
cles, baseball, shooting, and watching his grandkids.He could talk
to anyone about anything.He is in the Little League Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Horsely of Thermopolis;
son, Reese of Thermopolis; brothers, RJ and Brad, both of Ther-
mopolis, Rick of Gillette, Wyo., and Rod of New Mexico; sister, Bar-
bara Hansen of Thermopolis; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vern; and uncle, Bill.
A Celebration of Randys life will be Friday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m.
at the VFW Club in Thermopolis. Mortimore Funeral Home is as-

Marilyn White
Marilyn R. White, 89, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at
the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Marilyn was born June 30, 1927, in New Orleans, La., to Earl
and Ethel Rees. She was educated in the New Orleans public school
system and, in 1943, enrolled at Southwestern Louisiana Univer-
sity in Lafayette, La. Earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in music
education she returned to New Orleans to teach the orchestra pro-
gram at McDonogh High School.
On August 25, 1945, she married William
Lessley White of Carencro, La., at Our Lady of
the Rosary Church in New Orleans.She and her
husband each earned Masters Degrees in mu-
sic education from the University of Colorado in
Boulder, Colo.Marilyn was very active in music
and theater in the schools and communities in
which she worked and lived. She played in the
Shreveport, La., symphony orchestra, the El Paso,
Texas, symphony orchestra and the orchestras
and string ensembles at both universities.In 1978 she completed
her Ph.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the Univer-
