Worksheet 1: Im Whisper.
Match and draw lines.
ACTIVITIES: 1. Points to yourself and say your name.
(i) PRE-LESSON 2. Ask the pupils to stand up.
3. Elicit his/her name from the pupil.
4. Use L1 to prompt the pupils response if necessary.
(ii) LESSON DEVELOPMENT 5. Pupils look at the picture in their students books.
6. Play the recording.
7. Pupils point to the character names when they hear them.
8. Play the recording again.
9. Point to the character names/pictures in turn. Pupils say the
names.
10. Pupils practice pointing and naming in pairs.
11. Pupils look at the chant.
12. Play the recording. Pupils listen and follow the chant in their
Students Books.
13. Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to
repeat.
14. Pupils practice the chant as a class.
15. Invite four students to come to the front of the class. Teacher
gives each one a character name. They do the chant for the class.
16. Repeat step 15 with other pupils.
(iii) POST-LESSON 17. Invite a pair of pupils to the front of the class.
18. Prompt them to do the chant using their real names.
19. Repeat step 17 to 18 with two more pairs of pupils.
20. Make pairs. Pupils practice the chant, taking turns to start.
21. Pupils do a mingling activity, introducing themselves to the
pupils in the class using Hi, Im (name). Whats your name?
Hi, Im (name). What a nice name!
22. Pupils match the sentences with pictures and colour the circles
in Students Workbook page 4.
