The Sovereign can be used with a variety of thermal switching type detectors and will activate of up to 3 Stat-X units

of any size. Extreme low power design gives extended battery life and individual units may be linked to form a

system.
Features

./ A small, self contained battery powered unit with >3 year battery life. The actual time is temperature
dependent the lower the temperature the longer the life.

./ The Sovereign supports the actuation of 1-3 Stat-X units of any size. These being interconnected in series

with each other.

./ External thermal switch/s or Linear heat sensors can be used, as well as self contained battery operated

optical smoke detectors that have a set ofvolt free contacts that close on detection of an alarm condition.

./ Each Sovereign unit can be linked into an "all-fire" system where one-of-many detectors operates all the
Stat-X units in the system.

./ Powered with a widely available CR123a (replaceable) 3V lithium camera cell.

,/ Environmentally protected lP65 polycarbonate box with transparent lid and integral 10mm gland.

./ Comprehensive cell monitoring, and self test for faults and circuit continuity.

./ Battery life will be dependent on ambient temperature exposure, the following is a guide to expected
confidence of battery life on pressing of the battery/panel test button.

The below are rough guidance only and should not replace the need for regular 3 monthly confidence tests.

-2ooc 3-10 years.

-1ooc 3-10 years.

ooc 3-5 years.

looc 3-5 years.

zooc 3-5 years.

3ooc 3-5 years.

40oc+ 2-3 years.

NOTE: Onsite conditions can vary so will affect battery life in different locations
therefore for complete confidence replace battery Annually.

FUNCTIONS

,/ Monitoring of internal and external thermal switches for alarm condition.

'/ Automatic activation of up to 3 Stat-X units in response to alarm.

,/ Manual activation by placing an MCP at the end of Sensor circuit.
,/ Actuation delay settable 5 or 10 seconds via dip switch.

Position 2 ON Auto Delay +l,0sec

Position 3 ON Slave mode (see below)

Position 4 ON Internal22K EOL on AIARM contacts

User defaults are all set to "OFF". The functions are enabled when moved to "ON" only.

,/ Periodic automatic self test:

Sensor loop continuity test: Monitors for fault conditions.

Firex continuity test: Monitors for extinguisher loop continuity.

,/ Front status LED's report a fault in realtime.

,/ Push button initiated test:
./ Battery test: High current pulse test of battery assures operational capability.
,/ An internal Audible alarm is activated on alarm.
,/ Real-time LED indications blink to save power, indications become constant during pushbutton test.
Cable connections

The connections are via 9 way PCB terminal block with spring push type terminal options accepting wires from
o.2mm2 to 1.0mm2 cross sectional area.

Access to test switch, battery and terminals.

Removal of the transparent outer lid gains access to the decal mounted test switch, which should be operated at

regular intervals to check battery health. Beneath the decal label remove 2 screws which retain the PCB- The board

can then be extracted from the base gaining access to the battery holder and connector block.

Temperature capability
-20 to 50C (standard battery)

-50 to 70C option (high spec battery)

Dimensions
65mm x 50mm x 35mm excluding gland

Gland will handle 10mm max diameter cable bundle

Mounting
The unit can be surface mounted by means of the two screw holes, which are diagonally opposed on 38mm x 53mm

rectangle.

Sovereign unit/battery is not functioning then only the Stat-X units of the fully functional Sovereign will be activated.

lf one of the Sovereign units should fail to function in a looped system then this will not prevent the other
Sovereigns from functioning and actuating. Faults will remain independently on each Sovereign and will not affect

any other in that looP.

Note Z: When Sovereign units are linked in the "Slave" configuration this disables the TEST button from activating
the ALARM contacts in a system that uses the ALARM contacts'

It also enables an immediate response mode (the "DUMP" connection) without waiting for the wake-up every 2

seconds and also circumvents the delaytime set on USRl and 2.

The Sovereign units can also be linked for Multi Stat-X actuation using only one mode of detection from the Master

Sovereign unit by utilizing the "Dump" connections'

(Stat-X units not shown for clarity)

The Sovereign unit can be used with specific self powered detectors that have the ability to produce a volt free
contact to enable a switching circuit. This will allow a detector to be monitored for continuity with a 22K end of line

resistor. The detectors have an integrated audible and visual alarm signal that will activate as a fire condition is

sensed.

This configuration will allow for two detectors in a circuit to detect a fire condition before the Sovereign panel
releases the Stat-X units effectively giving a two stage alarm.

Batteries should be changed in the detectors on an annual basis.
