Background:

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is an integral part of Business Administration. It ensures


fulfilling customer demand and making a product available to its customers/consumers/end
users. The main objective of SCM is to increase Supply Chain Surplus through savings &
efficiency. A number of stakeholders are associated with the whole supply chain process of an
entity. SCM includes activities like strategic supply chain management, sourcing, Outsourcing,
negotiation, procurement, purchasing, customs management, documentation, material
management, warehouse management, inventory control, transportation, logistics, physical
distribution, ensuring sustainability etc.

Scenario:

You have just joined as a General Manager, Supply Chain at a Manufacturing firm (Chosen by
you) in Bangladesh. You are required to submit your Supply Chain Plan to the Head of Supply
Chain. For the plan you are asked to choose a particular product, raw material/component(s)
of which need to be purchased from other country (International Purchasing). Along with local
market, the product is/will be distributed (exported) in foreign country. In your plan you are
recommended to address the following issues:

Format

An individual Management Style Report in the form of a Supply Chain Plan of a maximum of
3500 words in length (Plus Minus 10%)

Criteria

Students must be able to demonstrate an understanding of relevant theories and analytical


models and apply them to the assignment that you choose. More depth is required than mere
descriptions of information that you have found during your research. You will be required to
show evidence of research and analysis
