RUN1: Checking virtualization support

RUN2#: Download and Install Oracle Virtual Box and Create a
Ubuntu Virtual Machine:

1. Download Oracle VirtualBox


Download Oracle VirtualBox

URL to download VirtualBox from https://www.virtualbox.org/


Click on large download button in the middle of the screen.
Download "VirtualBox 5.1.26 platform package" for Windows which will
download a ".exe" file.
2. Download Ubuntu

Download Ubuntu Disk Image from the URL -


https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
3. Installing VirtualBox

Step1:
Click on the Downloaded VirtualBox application file.
The VirtualBox setup wizard will be displayed.
Click on Next to proceed with the installation.

Now VirtualBox Installation options will be displayed. Click Next to continue.

4. Create an Ubuntu Virtual Machine
a) Open Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager and click on the New icon.

b) Machine information
Set machine name as "2016HT13667".
Select Linux as the type and Ubuntu as the version with 64-bit.
Click Next to continue
c) Choose memory size as 1024MB and click "Next"
d) Select the Create a virtual hard disk now option and click Create.

e) Choose VDI as hard drive type and click Next.


f) Now Choose storage type on hard disk
g) Set The Size Of Virtual Hard Drive as 10GB
h) The Virtual Machine has now been created but it doesnt have an OS installed yet.
5. Installing Ubuntu on Virtual Machine

a. Click on "Start" button.


b. To boot Ubuntu, choose the file location of the downloaded UbuntuISO Disk
Image by clicking on the folder icon next to the Host Drive dropdown and
click "Start".
c. Click on Install Ubuntu
d. Click on continue
e. Click on something else and then continue
f. Select mount point as / and then click on ok.
g. Select your Keyboard layout
h. Set credentials with name as 2016HT13667 and a password for the user.
The Ubuntu is now successfully installed.
