GUIDELINES:
1. All NSTP students are required to participate in the community welfare project RUN FOR HOPE 7 for the Halfway Home
for Boys. SLU NSTP strongly supports this project because the project promotes fitness and health and solidarity and
community service to boys with special needs which are integral activities and projects of the SLU NSTP. This run is also
SLUs solidarity activity to the nation as the nation celebrates the National Childrens Month. As part of this requirement,
NSTP students should therefore accomplish and submit this participation form.
2. The run is scheduled on November 26, 2017 with the following category for runners to choose from: 3k, 5k, 10k, 21k and
42k. The route of the run starts at the Burnham Lake Drive at the Burnham Park to, Scout Barrio, Brgy Kias, South Drive
road and vice versa respectively for the said categories. Runners must be at the Burnham Lake at 2:30 AM. Please check
the Run for Hope posters around the campus for additional details. NSTP students will choose from the subsequent
schemes on how to participate.
3. SCHEME A) TO REGISTER AND ACTUALLY RUN: students may choose from any of the run categories specified above.
Register in any of the Run for Hope booth around the campuses and join the run as scheduled. Together with this form,
participating NSTP students need to submit proof of actual run. Please see run posters for details.
4. SCHEME B) TO REGISTER FOR SUPPORT BUT WILL NOT RUN: students may choose from any of the run categories
specified above to register with. Together with this form, concerned NSTP students must submit valid proof of registration.
Register in any of the Run for Hope booth around the campuses.
5. SCHEME C) TO RECRUIT ONE OR MORE NON-NSTP STUDENT to follow either scheme A or scheme B. Submit the
same requirements specified therein including this form. The recruit must register at a registration booth of the run for
hope in the campus, accompanied by the recruiting NSTP student. The recruit must be certified as recruit only if
accompanied in the registration by the NSTP student and upon the signing by the authorized signatory in the said
registration booth of this participation form (see blank below for the certification signature). Previously registered runners
that did not follow this guideline cannot be considered NSTP recruits.
6. SCHEME D) TO SERVE AS MARSHALLS DURING THE RUN FOR HOPE: no registration needed except that interested
students will personally report to the NSTP Office, student center basement, main campus, and sign in. Should the slots
for marshals be limited, final approval of choosing this scheme is first-come-first-serve. The call time for marshals during
the run proper on Nov 27 is 2:30 AM at the athletic bowl at Burnham park. Marshals will have to process this form and
submit personally and immediately to the NSTP Office. Final briefing for marshals will be announced by the office to be
coordinated tby your NSTP INSTRUCTOR. Attendance in this briefing is REQUIRED.
7. SCHEME E) TO PERSONALLY CALL OR SEE THE NSTP COORD FOR OTHER FEASIBLE ALTERNATIVES THAT
COULD ACCOMMODATE OTHER INDIVIDUAL CONCERNS OF STUDENTS.
8. Participating NSTP students must wear their NSTP uniforms. Those who will choose scheme A will use their NSTP
uniform right after completing the run. During the run, they will be using the run for hope tshirt provided them during the
registration. Those recruits for the scheme C are not required to wear the NSTP uniform. Those who will serve as marshals
(scheme D and scheme E) are required to wear their NSTP uniform and the marshal vest to be secured from the NSTP
Office at the student center.
9. Only forms and proofs with original handwritten data and signatures will be honored by the instructor. Photocopied data
and signatures, and proofs are null and void.
10. Submit this form to your respective NSTP instructors personally on or before November 24 or 25, 2017. For NSTP 1,
submit your valid proofs of actual participation during your NSTP 1 classes immediately after the activity. For NSTP 2,
submit your proofs upon the instruction of your respective supervising instructors. NO JOINING in this NSTP sanctioned
activity WITH OUT this properly accomplished form with the consent of your authorized guardian.
11. By signing this guideline in the blanks provided, both the student and the guardian will not hold the University or its
representatives, instructors and staff for any untoward incident that may happen to the student on the way to, during, on
the way from the chosen scheme of the project, and which is beyond the control of the University, its representatives,
instructors or staff. The NSTP instructors and staff supervising the students will exert all their diligent efforts to ensure
safety of students and the successful learning participation of students to the said activity.
