RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Seesaw is an app and website that allows students of all ages to showcase their work to both their teachers and parents. The app
is similar to an online social network site, but is only able to be reached through a QR code or invitation. The features on it are
near, and helps the student receive a centered learning experience. The app helps with not only creating a portfolio for the
student, but it helps the student gain 21st century technology skills. It also allows the students to gain a better digital citizenship
through moderation of posts and sharing information to their classmates.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?

This app can be utilized by showcasing work to parents by being able to receive authentic feedback from peers, teachers, and
their parents. The blogging feature can be utilized in my concentration by having the students do a blog as a bell work activity or
just other activities. By allowing this technology in the classroom, it helps the student get feedback quicker, and gives an opening
for parents to look at the work directly as well. Students will be allowed to interact with one another for certain projects giving
them an authentic, collaborative tool allow them to gain interpersonal and social skills.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I give this app a 2, just because it is not optimal for a student-centered environment. Though the addition would be great since it
is an app that can be used outside of the classroom, it is something the lesson can live without. The app does help further
understanding of digital citizenship, and helps families be more involved in the learning path of the student. I can also see the app
creating curiosity within them and the student seeking out about the app and how to add more things to it. Overall, it seems like
an interesting app and I would love to try it out in my classroom (but only the free version).
