Comments:

Kern Lynn demonstrates proficiency in her professional growth and reflection exercises. It has been a pleasure to read the
journal entries that she has diligently and thoughtfully recorded. Kern Lynn offers careful observation of her experiences and
interactions throughout the practicum. I find that she is engaging in thoughtful decision-making and continuous
self-assessment and evaluation. It is always interesting to converse with Kern Lynn on her professional and practical learning
throughout the practicum, and I believe she is honest and sincere in her reflections. Discussions with Kern Lynn regarding
teacher professional responsibilities are always thought-provoking and engaging. I appreciate that I am able to raise issues of
professional responsibility, the complexity of teacher working realities, and teaching and learning experiences with Kern Lynn.
Conversely, Kern Lynn also raises important issues that she has come across in order that she and I can discuss them. I find
sincerity in her consideration for these critical issues, and I am thankful for her reflective and thoughtful nature. Professional
Growth and Reflection is a consistent and vitally important part of success as an educator, and I believe Kern Lynn is
prepared to engage in these activities throughout her journey in the Education Faculty.

Kern Lynn has an exceptional ability to build rapport with members of the learning community. From the beginning of her
practicum in our school, I noticed her naturally positive attitude and support of respectful relationships with learners, myself the
Teacher Associate, and other members of the school community. Not only does Kern Lynn support positive and respectful
relationships, these are an expectation of her personal and professional conduct. I appreciate that she supports all learners in
the classroom and I am happy to report that she made sincere efforts to spend individualized time with all learners in the
classroom regardless of ability, behaviours, attitude, or academic needs.

Comments:

Kern Lynn exhibits a keen ability to direct student learning and she demonstrates promising potential to consistently improve. I
am impressed with all aspects of her communication skills, and I appreciate that she responds appropriately to the needs of
the classroom (and individual students) as they change throughout the lesson. Kern Lynn maintains positive expectations of
all learners through setting the tone, and responding appropriately to student needs. While she interacts effectively and
provides learners with focused feedback, she will benefit from providing consistently clear direction to the students and
offering consistent reminders of what she expects of them. As Kern Lynn continues in the Faculty of Education, I know that
she will also continue planning adequately for instructional tasks. Thank you for sharing your skills with us, Kern Lynn!

Comments:
Kern Lynn exhibits strength in her classroom management and leadership skills. Entering a busy, diverse, and challenging
multiage classroom is not an easy task, yet she reinforced and maintained our established behavioural expectations,
classroom routines/procedures, and academic expectations. Kern Lynn monitored and responded appropriately to student
behaviour by first observing my interactions with the students in light of several different scenarios, and then modeling her
interventions upon those I demonstrated. I appreciate Kern Lynns dynamic enthusiasm, with-it-ness, and passion!

6. General Comments:

It has been a pleasure to work with Kern Lynn during her Ed 2500 placement this summer. She demonstrates true
professionalism and a maturity in decision making beyond her amount of experience in the classroom. With calm and poise,
Kern Lynn has proficiently executed classroom management techniques, student behavioural intervention strategies, and
one-to-one student support throughout her practicum. I appreciate Kern Lynns ability to model her professionalism on what
she knows is necessary for her practicum expectations, as well as what she judges to be appropriate within the context of the
school environment. She exhibits a strong ability to judge situations and respond appropriately. There is no doubt Kern Lynn is
exhibiting skills beyond what is required at this stage of her professional learning and growth, and I am thankful she was
chosen as our student teacher this semester!
