Would you join a class with music over science?

Alternative Plan: Organize a e3 Performing Arts Summer Program

Ms. Wallaces Response:

Yes, I think Music Education should be part of the curriculum in K-12 Public Schools.

There is so much research that shows music helps kids in school, prevents dropping

out, helps with test taking kills, literacy skills, develops responsibility, and gives an

outlet to express themselves. A place to call home.

Answers from the experts: Why do you think
music education is important?

It teaches an entire artistic medium. How human express themselves through

sound! This is why people say "music is what feelings sound like". Music is also

called the universal language. It is a communication method that people all

understand, even if they don't speak the same language. What a cool way to

create international and multicultural friendships! - Pamela Miller

Rachelle Butlers Response:

Music education is beneficial in the public school system for the same reason as

math and foreign languages. Children build logic and reasoning skills through

studying music in a similar way to studying math and languages. Research shows

that children have stronger cognitive skills when exposed to music at a young age.

Teens use music to cope with personal disappointments, get pumped for a

test/performance, or connect with friends.

Thank You!
