Bombay
National
Debate
Tournament
2012
We
are
proud
to
announce
that
our
team
won
the
prestigious
National
Debate
tournament
organized
by
IIT
Bombay.
The
debate
tournament
was
held
over
a
period
of
three
days
from
19th
to
21st
December
2012,
as
part
of
Asia's
biggest
college
fest
-
Mood
Indigo.
60
teams
attended
the
debate
tournament
with
participants
from
all
over
India,
Singapore
and
Pakistan.
It
was
a
British
Parliamentary
debate
tournament,
which
is
the
standard
format
for
most
of
the
international
debating
tournaments.
A
single
team
from
Sardar
Patel
Institute
of
Technology
participated
in
the
tournament
and
after
successfully
completing
five
preliminary
rounds,
followed
by
the
quarter-finals
and
semi-finals.The
team
from
our
institute
beat
students
from
Law
and
Business
backgrounds
in
the
finals
to
win
the
tournament.
The
team
consisted
of
two
members
from
the
Computer
Engineering
Department
of
the
college
Aditya
Shetty,
B.E
Computers
and
Atman
Pandya,
T.E
Computers.
Aditya
Shetty
also
won
the
Best
Speaker
award
at
the
tournament.
