control tests.

Crosslinking The film of Lurapret Dispersion D 2337 formed when the water
evaporates is already partly crosslinked. The condensation reaction is
optimized by subsequent heat treatment or the addition of i.e. Helizarin
Fixing Agent LF. In practice a temperature of 120160 C has been
found to give good results. Because of the many types of substrate and
different types of fixing equipment in use it is strongly recommended that
preliminary tests to determine the optimum fixing temperature and
duration in each case are carried out.

Resistance to solvents The fully cross-linked polymer film of Lurapret Dispersion D 2337 is
insoluble in water and most organic solvents (Case by case test). Only a
slight swelling occurs.

Application
Application areas and effects Used for the coating of woven, knitgoods and non-wovens of all fibre
types and their blends. Multifunctional product.

9 Lurapret Dispersion D 2337 gives a soft film, and therefore is

suitable for ground coats or as a mixing component for ground
coats.
9 Lurapret Dispersion D 2337 particularly suitable for paste
coating application.
9 After optimum crosslinking, coatings with Lurapret Dispersion D
2337 have very good wash stability. However they have very
little resistance to dry cleaning.
9 Can be used for waterproof coatings.

Application methods Paste coating application.

When making pastes for paste coating, we recommend the use of an

appropriate defoamer like Defoamer TC ECO.
With the addition of Lutexal or Lurapret thickeners and concentrated
ammonia a high thickening effects can be achieved.

For foam application the paste should be set at pH 9 9.5 with

ammonia.

When mixing strong shearing forces should be avoided

All pipework and valves should be rinsed with cold water immediately
after use.
Practical recommendations The compatibility and stability of mixtures with other ingredients and the
shear stability are affected by many factors and should be carefully
checked with trials in production conditions.

This includes, amongst others, the viscosity and storage stability and
possible changes in the application conditions.

When adding thickener please pay attention to surface liquid formation

or the flocculation of pigments.

When used in combination with pigment preparations the pH should be

set at neutral to alkali and should not be exposed to high shearing
forces.

Any changes in the substrate can give different coating properties and
should be checked carefully as the further processing conditions may
adversely affect the finished fabric.
