Prior Knowledge (What knowledge are you building on?)

Students have knowledge about sounds /s/,/a/,/t/ and /p/. They also know words that start with these sounds and they know
how to write the sounds in capital and small cases. Students also have the knowledge of clapping the syllabus in the words.
Moreover the students started learning about blending the sounds.
Lesson Activities: (What will students do in the lesson?)

Revision activity: Teacher will have Alpha catch activity in the carpet, she will choose specific students to wear the gloves and
catch the ball she will throw to him/her. When the student catches the ball teacher will ask about which sound is in the ball.
Teacher will repeat this activity with couple of students.

Small groups activities:


Activity 1: A group of students will have a puzzle with one of the pictures that is related to sound /i/. After finishing the puzzle
there will be 3 flashcards with words and pictures that represent them, student will only choose one of these flashcards and
stick them under the puzzle.

Activity 2: Students will have a paper with igloo clipart picture on it, they will also have some white scraps and glue. Students
will use the glue to stick the scraps on the igloo picture like snow.

Activity 3: Students will have a worksheet with numbers, they will connect the numbers dots to create phoneme /i/ then they
will color the pictures that represent the sound.

Lesson Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be (better) able to:

Read and say sound /i/


Recognize sound /i/ words and memorize them
Recognize the words syllabus and be able to count them.
