With the restoration of the Class X Board examination by the CBSE, the evaluation pattern has been remodeled for class
X. The same model will be replicated for class IX as per CBSE Circular No.Acad-05/2017 dated 31/01/2017. The
examination pattern will be as follows:
Scholastic Area-
Regular Subjects: Evaluation would consist of Internal Assessment (20 marks) and final examination (80 marks). The Final
Examination will be based on the complete syllabus of that particular class
Internal Assessment would consist of the following:
Periodic Unit Tests (10 marks) Three periodic written tests would be conducted (Unit Test I, Mid-Term Test & Unit Test
II) the schedule for which will be given in the Annual Calendar. The portion of the syllabus will be covered cumulatively
with gradually increasing content. The average of the best two tests will then be considered.
Notebook Submission (5 marks) This will address aspects of regularity, punctuality in submission of assignments,
neatness and maintenance of the notebook.
Subject Enrichment Activity (5 marks)
Languages -Assessment of speaking and listening skills will be conducted and assessed
Science/Mathematics Lab Activities will be assessed
Social Studies - Map work and Project work will be assessed
